A man accused of murdering an escort he found on Craigslist who refused to have sex with him was acquitted in Texas, Wednesday.
Apologies if this has already been posted, I did a search but could,'t find anything.
I find this story quite disturbing, Ezekiel Gilbert has been acquitted of murder after he shot and killed a prostitute who took his money ($150) but
refused to have sex with him, this happened in 2009 but has only just come to court.
Apparently he got of with the murder under a Texas law that states:
Under Texas law, it’s legal to, “use deadly force to recover property during a night-time theft.”
Even though prosecutors argued that prostitution is illegal, and that trying to force someone into having sex for money is also an illegal act and
that the Texas law was designed to protect law abiding citizens from being robbed in their homes at night....Gilbert's lawyers managed to get him
Now to me this would appear to be no different than a drugs dealer failing to supply the drugs he had been paid for, and his "buyer" shooting him
dead and getting away with it!
