It is so sad to see someone's livelihood destroyed by something that is not in their control.

This is the part I don't understand. Why if he has violated numerous restraining orders to keep him away from her is he not in jail!!!!

Sounds like someone in law enforcement needs a new job to help understand their responsibility to protect a judges sovereignty.

Yep, I guess I did...sorry for that oversight.
And, we are debating without a full set of facts....

But, I don't see them paying putting her in unpaid leave indefinitely...and I don't see her getting another job in her field....unless she lies

What has SHE done to lose her job and her livelihood?

Nothing. Someone in law enforcement has failed to enforce a judges orders. He should be fired, the police captain or whoever has the responsibility. Not her.

I mean it sounds like her husband cannot control himself. No small wonder why he has a restraining order against him.

I do not believe that will improve her situation. Once you have made the media it is over. She could move 500 miles away. That is one thing about T.V. and the Internet, it was invented to transmit information to the masses.

I do hope that the story gets enough publicity that someone with the ability or position can help her.

Well if the police can't do their job she should move to somewhere and not let him know where she is going.

When there is a convicted felon, or someone on trial for domestic violence, and they show up at a place with young children there are a whole litany or rules, laws, and judgments that can, and will be applied. Most felons can not be anywhere on school grounds, due to many school policies and state laws. (Check your local laws and Policies)

Then call the police and have him rearrested. Those Laws that keep felons off school property? Lets enforce them. The minute he shows up, arrest him.

But to take away this woman's income because of a possible threat.....I don't agree.

I'm going to paint a new picture here, one that many women are not going to like, but I feel it is very relevant to the thread.

I had the privilege of working, in law enforcement for a number of years, in a large metro area. I got to see things that many people don't nor would ever want to see, but the most unbelievable and dangerous calls were what police officers call "Domestic's". Bad Bad JuJu for everyone including officers.

I can't begin to tell you how many dispatched calls we got from husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend about physical abuse. Many times it was repeat, after repeat offenders and the women still remained with these douchbags.

Now there was one call that stuck out in my mind forever, and when I say forever I mean it. We arrived at a scene, around 11pm. The call was for a man and women fighting outside in a vehicle, in the street. We were the first officers on scene, when we got there the description of the car, from the call matched, as did the license plate.

We couldn't see in the windows because they were tinted and rolled almost all the way up, but we saw the car going up and down, Now most of you would think that they were having sex, but as we approach the car there were thumping noises and whimpers.

My partner shined his duty light through the crack and saw the man pounding this tiny women. We gave serverl loud verbal commands to open the door, but he didn't hear a thing, Immediately my parnter broke the window and we both pulled him out. The male suspect didn't comply, so it got very ugly quick, as we started to put some humility in him.

The battered, bloody and bruised girlfriend (90 pounds) that we were there to save, protect, and serve, pulled herself up from the bottom of the car, and yelled to us in a faint tone.

"Don't hurt him, Please Don't hurt him!"

I almost couldn't believe my ears.

I still to this day have a hard time understanding why women remain in such horrible situations, and defend these guys.

These situations go for women abusing men too, but much less frequent.

How long can they hold these guys in prison?

Many times it's only days if they live in a large metro area because of jail over-population.

IMO women need to put an end to this ASAP, meaning preemptive measures, if someone treats you poorly, then don't walk away from the situation, run, and run fast. Women have great intuition typically so they know when they are getting treated poorly.

Rule #1 If a person grabs you, or hits you it's call "Assault and Battery" Need counselling fast if they are in a relationship, so it never happens again, if the person doesn't comply. Leave them.

Rule #2 Reread #1 over and over until it sinks in.

Peace Out,

Love to you all.

Wow so so many are easy to just say it's ok for the school to do this. I think that also should mean it opens the door for any spouse to be able to really shaft the other in getting them fired from any job for the protection of the other workers.

I disagree with this line of thinking. The guy should have been either arrested and jailed or had to wear a house arrest bracelet if he was to remain in public.
He is the trouble her so punish the innocent kids and mom for being involved. That sounds so wrong because it is very wrong.

Ding Ding Ding We got a Winner!

Fact is, this firing is Not an uncommon occurrence what so ever, just part of the whole YAY Patriarchy culture...not only are Women blamed, ridiculed and Punished for a Mans abusive violent behavior, the men are REWARDED in our Courts, Jobs, Legal structures, RELIGIONS adore them, Sports idolizes them, Marketing cheers them on and GROOMS females to be willing Passive victims, and Society gives them the High Five...

Jobs fire the women, many jurisdictions criminalize the women, CPS targets them for removal of the kids, and Landlords EVICT them as in recent case in Penns...which seems to be a frequent occurrence...siting Victims of DV as NUICANCES,

But Hey it's a $$$$$ maker, the Hijacked DV industry and mental (hysteria womb hating club) pathologizes victims all the while EXCUSING male narcissism as a "natural, even glorified behavior because well, after all, boys will be boys and the dumb bitch should of kept him happier",

And well, even the Military, as representative Spier (sic) outed, a branch has or had an ENTIRE FB PAGE all about Glorifying male violence to those dumb deserving Females, I mean after all Who wouldn't Rejoice at a photo image of a woman with blackened eyes and the logo underneath quoting, the bitch didn't burn the toast again,

Why LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

Ha ha hardy ha ha

It's just Soooooo funny in our Glorified patriarchy society, even Women CHEERLEAD this as if they CHEER enough, why they might be spared, especially if they are " f a bull "if ya Know what I mean since that's ALL that matters anyway,

So of course narcissistic men, have learned quite well how to USE this supportive society to their Advantage, why no better way to have Ultimate god like CONTROL over that chattel they own than to real in the society applause and hatred of females, after all who DOESN'T hate their Dispicable mother??? That ole witch!

With enough support rallying around and well RELIGION with its virgin/whore dichotomy why it's ALL to easy, after all it WAS the Patriarch (church fathers) who said that EVE was THE GATES TO HELL and all females After her, but alas, misogyny simply does not exist...it's only in your pretty stupid head my dear.

So, let's do what's Right and put our Focus on this Witch of a female, because well, tsk tsk we all know she Had to have done Something to drive this poor, poor man into his fits of TANTRUMS and rage,

Why, maybe she wasn't putting out like the porn shows, I mean after all self degradation is where Empowerment is all about, or, or maybe she was one of them nasty little gold diggers and well you know how it is, why she insisted on the utility bill being paid on time, HOW DARE HER, or or maybe she nagged way too many times about the trash not being taken ours OR maybe she just doesn't understand,

That when a MAN feels the need to beat the crap out of a female or shoot others to show his machismo masculinity SUPER Syndrome well, by golly, she should do her part and be a Loving DYING martyr,

And leave the rest of us alone to live in our isolated bubbles of superficial peace. She's just a hole anyway, there's plenty of holes just eagerly waiting to take her place,

And Society knows it, they even applaud it, even if, it's their VERY own daughters and the football team decides to abuse her like a rag doll, why Cheers sports are SO much more important than a dumb hole. So Punish the man, NEVER,

ONLY, ONLY if that man does something TO an important mans "hole" OR if it makes the other Important holes angry enough that the boys have to clean up their loose ends, ya Know for show and all, that whole Sunday churchy thing, it's good for TITHES. So, yes of course, she should be fired, how DARE this HOLE put anyone at risk, keep her murderous manlike to herself, and Next time by golly, take the beating and Leave society out of it...WE don't want to get our hands dirty, bloody we don't care so much about, but sordid and dirty, why, Never, just move along, nothing to see here, just

Another statistic, another at least for now, dead hole walking....

I see a lawsuit brewing. Her termination wasn't work related, the school had no right to fire her.

Wasn't work related? There were instances occurring at her work. That makes it work related. The school for once imo has done the right thing here.

Just going to throw in my two cents here. Although I acknowledge the argument that the school is expected to be uncompromising when it comes to the safety of their students, I also think their decision to let this teacher go shows a remarkable lack of compassion and understanding. She was not responsible for the behavior of this man. He was victimizing her. She also gave the school foreknowledge that this man was out of control and that the possibility of his showing up on school grounds was a very real one. Seeing as that such an incident did in fact occur, all that needed to happen was for that man to be detained and a restraining order placed on him. Punishing the teacher seems too cruel and impersonal. Also, for a Catholic school... shouldn't they ask themselves, "What would Jesus do"? I know that sounds cliche, and I'm not trying to be inflammatory, but think about it... how many professed Christian institutions truly behave in a manner befitting the teachings of their central figure? Also, I do not intend any disrespect of the Christian faith here, please understand that although I do not consider myself Christian I am still a strong proponent of the central teachings of Jesus... but these teachings do strongly state that forgiveness and compassion are of the utmost importance in one's day-to-day dealings... and were I the head administrator of a Christian institution, regardless of denomination, I would never consider expelling one of my own for something which was not directly her fault. I would take action to ensure that her position would be protected along with the general welfare of the student body. This does compel me to wonder if perhaps the administration was worried that if they didn't fire her then parents who were aware of the situation would pull their children from the school, thus hurting their revenue. And if that did have anything to do with it.. shame on them. Compromising integrity for money is no compromise at all. Still, that's merely conjecture, but I can name you those who wear the mantle of holiness as a cover for greed. It's an established pattern amongst many religious institutions. All that aside, my opinion rests as is. May this teacher find an establishment which will accept her and not throw her to the wolves at the first sign of trouble. (Side note: My own mother worked as an elementary teacher and she was fired for teaching her 2nd grade class about blizzards. Yes, blizzards. These were young Texas kids mostly who had never seen snow in their lives. They were curious. My mother happened to mention that blizzards could be fatal if one were exposed for too long. A student mentioned this fact to their parents, who in turn complained to the school, who in turned fired my mother. So perhaps I do have a bit of a bias when it comes to the indiscriminate firing of teachers, and yes I admit this case in question is much more extreme then what happened to my mother, but I've seen firsthand what kind of nonsense goes on in schools. Bureaucrats (as those employed in general administration are called) as a general rule seem to lack most forms of real human decency. Creator bless those good people who defy this dreadful archetype, but I can't ignore the sheer amount of evidence pointing to an educational system which seeks to degrade those within it. This can just as well apply to both private and public institutions.)

.... I really can't believe this post is being starred.

Such an adolescent little feminist rant. This issue is not so black and white. Also, there is no such thing as "male narcissism". Men and women can both have narcissistic tendencies. Some men are just worthless wastes of human flesh who think violence is the answer when it clearly isnt'; likewise, some women are exactly the same, as well.

This has very little to do with gender at all.
