You have described a beautiful soul.

From what I read it sounds like she really cared about you and wanted the best for you.
I'm glad you are taking the time to remember her with laughter because I think that's what she like any good mothers wants for you the most. She lives on through you now so keep your chin up and just be yourself, you will learn a lot about her through your actions.

The greatest compliment to someone who has passed, is to keep their memory alive and live your life to the fullest.

I've lost both parents - my dad 11 years ago, my mum 4 years ago.

Don't beat yourself up that you weren't there at the end - it matters not.

Not exactly what you want to hear right now, but you do get over the sadness quite quickly - it's the natural order of things.

It's hard losing a parent or any loved one for that matter, but just be content in the fact that she lived a long, full life with those she loved around her. She may be gone from this world, but she is in a much better place now.
