First off, I don't believe every event is a false flag and every person who dies to be an actor. That being said, I am not naive enough to not believe that governments do not engage in secret, black ops from time to time.

The main thing I am curious about is - whatever happened to motive?

The definition of "terrorism" is "the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims". Around the world when things get bombed by terrorist groups they often announce that they have done it and that it was done for a particular reason. This is the whole point of a terrorist action.

This seems to have gone by the way side, most if not all terrorist actions within the US have no reason, no motive, no political aim, no nothing.

If these two brothers are in fact the real bombers, why so sloppy? why no letter? no motive? they take no action to hide their faces, their lives are an open book, they go to school, they are on facebook and twitter, they even went to school the next day! went to the gym, partied, etc.

again, if this is a legit terrorist bombing, what was its goal? what do they gain from this? they point to them because they are from Chechnya but Chechnya is no stranger to rough times, terrorism and lots of war. I'm sure there are plenty of people there who hate the US but again, no nothing, no words from any "extremist group" there.

www.ft.com...

this article on the Financial Times spells it out pretty explicitly -

“What Chechnya? They never lived in Chechnya. They never had this in the head,” their father told the Chechen language service of US-backed Radio Liberty. “There is no Chechnya. What independence?”

Claiming leadership of this movement is Doku Umarov, a shadowy warlord who heads the Caucasian Emirate, a terror group which has claimed responsibility for a number of high-profile attacks, most recently the 2011 bombing of Moscow’s Domodedovo airport.

Both Russian law enforcement and Islamist extremists denied on Sunday any knowledge of contacts between Tamerlan and the Emirate.

In a statement published on a Russian Islamist web site, the Emirate’s Dagestani branch published a blanket denial of any responsibility.

“The Caucasian Mujahadeen are not carrying out attacks against the United States of America,” the group wrote. “We are at war with Russia which is responsible not only for the occupation of the Caucasus but unbelievable crimes against Muslims.”

pretty cut and dry, you claim responsibility and you have motive. if these guys were linked to extremist, there would be more than enough evidence to prove it, even the REAL extremists deny knowing them. thats not how it works...

nobody bombs anything cause "they hate freedom", elementary explanations are for kids in elementary school....

They were Muslim extremists, they happened to be in the US.

Much more convenient to attack here, they appear to have done a good job getting everyone scared thanks to the MSM and the FBI/Boston PD police lockdown.

They were also young and stupid and allegedly using drugs.

Being young and stupid is it's own motive for doing dumb stuff, I can attest to that.
Add in everything else and you will see my point.

I see no motive issue here,

Radicalized Muslims:

Both brothers had YouTube channels in the United States and in Russia. Emerson's group reviewed about half of the 22 videos posted on the U.S. channel. The videos were viewed by a small number of people. One video received 5,000 views, another just 1,000 views.

Based on the content of the videos, which feature Bin Laden, calls to kill Americans, Jews, Christians and exhortations to establish a world-wide caliphate, it is clear that these message are not directed just at Chechens. "They are directed primarily against all non-Muslims and are very similar to the Al Qaeda videos we've seen in years past."

The real question here I think is who was pulling strings of the brothers. It is very possible two backwards thinking individuals who pledge their lives to a religion, and a very twisted view of this religion... to carry out something like this by themselves.

It's possible. Is it likely?

Instead, we are left to wonder if they were being guided by someone at the Mosque they attended or any groups they might have been a part of with radical islamic views.

Motive is so pre-21st century. Now-a-days you're either an innocent civilian or a terrorist. It's a blurry line too.

There is a simple answer if you are willing to accept it.
It can be encapsulated in one single sentence.

An Islamic extremist considers it his job to attack anything “non Islam” in the name of achieving Islamic domination of the world, for that is jihad.

I love how everybody somehow "knows" the motives of these two second-rate so-called terrorists, with very little information.

Your question is a highly valid one, OP. Somehow, we're lead to believe that religion is motive enough. I'm not buying it.

This next statement's gonna get me flamed, but I have my asbestos suit on, so flame away: Our government has more of a motive to do this than those two dummies did.

still sounds like an episode of 24 to me; the one where two brothers are threatened/framed

I agree with this thread entirely,
To suggest being a muslim as a motive, or automatically connect extremism to it is a bit of a cop out.
From the reports these lads were westernised and enjoyed the general actuities that western people did.
There has to be a clearer motive. If there is no motive personal to them, then this wanders into the false flag scenarios. Who is the 'other' ? Who is the bew enemy? Initially, a 'saudi' was reported to have been arrested, what happened to this person? A saudi would not fit any narrative for the powers that be.
Its why i lean to the idea these lads are just patsys. The motive is not theirs but constructed elsewhere.

It seems to me that the motive is self-evident: Every action like this causes more radical overreaction from the American authorities. More oppression, larger government involvement in our individual lives, a bigger diet of fear-fear-fear for the mousies and sheepies; boomtimes for DHS and intelligence contractors and private mercenary armies; full employment for MSM specialists and spokesmen and pundits and other "terrorism" fearmongers; smiles on the faces of Kissingers and Brzezinskis and Bilderbergers everywhere....

What need is there for motives or credit anymore? Everybody who hates the US benefits. We're tearing ourselves apart from the inside with every loud noise....

I'm sorry guys but so far we have -

Young
Dumb
Probably on drugs
Muslim
Youtube channel with "terrorist" type videos

You realize none of these are motives right? See what Im getting at? These are supposed descriptions of these brothers, not motives to commit a crime.

I'm trying to get you to see past the media conditioning cause thats exactly what this is. Character description passes for motive now.

Why did he do it? Cause he's Muslim

Oh ok right, nothing to see here.

Why did he do it? Cause he's anti-government

Oh ok right, works the same every time.

Look at those quotes above from my original post, terrorists take ownership for what they do, proudly so, it is after all violence to instigate political change. They issue formal declarations of their violence to seek the end of something that is affecting their religion, their home, their people, etc. this is missing here!

the fact that they are muslim, does not answer that question!

In a situation like this we have to step back emotionally and say - why did they do this? this has not been answered AT ALL....

Sure, then I guess we can expect this brother in custody to let us know that he did this for Islamic Jihad in the name of attacking anything "Non-Islam" with the hopes of achieving Islamic domination. I for one will be waiting patiently for that admission.....

or as it says in the bible

Kill the Entire Town if One Person Worships Another God

Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

Kill Followers of Other Religions.

1) If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)

2) Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden. When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death. (Deuteronomy 17:2-5 NLT

As I stated, “If you are willing to accept it.” If you don’t want to come to grips with the idea that they have that world view, and that they will carry out such acts strictly to further their world view, then so be it.

Go ahead and live in denial if that makes you feel better..

The thing I see most in people is the fact that most people can’t get their own world view, and emotions out of their head when trying to comprehend how other people see the situation. They try to comprehend other people’s world view through the lens of their own values and beliefs.

I definitely do not live in denial, is this person in the hospital comes out and says just what you have wrote, then case closed, we have a bomber motived from extremist views but if he doesn't.....

then aren't we left to think it was something else? im open to either view, maybe you should be too....

narcissism could be the motive. The older sub-human had "#1 terrorista" on his car license plate.
