Next episode should be awesome.

One more day.

Can you feel that? That feeling that something is going to go catastrophically wrong?

Just wondering, Zazz. I get to watch this 9PM EDT. Do you get to watch this on Sunday before us or do you have to wait for Monday?

I'm trying to remember if in the book Rikkon went north with Bran? Or is that an addition in the last nights episode?

No. He goes with the Wildling and basically disappears from the story line for the remainder of the books.

Soooooo......

Not your typical boring wedding. I'm sure all the Unsullied who haven't read the books were caught off guard with that.

Anyone want to take a stab (pun intended) at the final scene of the season?

My guess is the inroduction of Stoneheart.

I think it may make a few people feel better since in the book it doesn't take place much after the RW and timeline-wise wouldn't be too much of a stretch.

When are you going to catch episode 9? I wanted to get your feedback on the RW and how you thought they handled it and how the actors who portayed the characters performed.

SPOILER ALERT!!!

I know Arya, Bran, Rickon, and Sansa are still alive at the end of the last book... For the Starks, just being left alive is catching a break....

And Catelyn? Well...something happens....you'll see.

*book spoiler*

Stoneheart would have to come next season surely? It would be too soon if it were in the next episode, in the book its at least 6 month away from memory.

I'm trying to remember exactly when Stoneheart was introduced in the books, and to my recollection, it was towards the end of book 3. Given that we're about 60% of the way through book 3 right now, I think that you're right, its still too soon. I don't think you'll see that character until about the 3rd or 4th episode next year if they keep to the books' timeline.

*Book Spoiler*

A Feast for Crows (2005)
A Dance with Dragons (2011) really aren't as flowing story lines, he focused on certain individuals and then others in the next book, not keeping character flowing in each book, having to go back in 'time' a bit at the start of ADWD. TBH I didn't like that flow much and was wandering if they will do that in the series also. It wont make for good viewing. I am hazarding a guess they will keep all characters story flow in each new season.

At least they included one surprise. When I saw Rob's wife at the Twins, I was like, "Oh crap, she's gonna die..." (in the books, she wasn't at the wedding, or pregnant).

I think they kind of missed not only a T&A moment (the bedding), but I also feel that showing that (the disrobing by the guests) would have hit home the strangeness of that custom. Oh well, minor thing.

I really liked how they had Catelyn catch on to it...first the door, then noticing Bolton's chainmail. This was different from the books, but well done (and she acted it beautifully).

I kind of felt the killings were a bit rushed, but eh... Overall, I think they did the scene justice. I almost wish I hadn't read the books, as it really wasn't much of a surprise of course.. I can only imagine the impact for those who didn't know it was coming...

Hehe...it's even more funny when you can tell that some viewers knew it was coming from the books, while others didn't.... In my household, everyone had read the books, so no big reaction (except to his wife getting stabbed in the belly). I almost wish I had a camera going for that reaction from my wife.

Well OMG, I really didn't see that coming - what a fantastic programme.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS.......

_____________________________

The final episode of the season is titled "mhysa", which is the fictional Ghiscari language word for "mother". So, I'm thinking this will mostly be about Danni's continued efforts (as the Mother of Dragons), Cersei planning Jeoffrey's wedding (as his mother), and possibly Lady Stoneheart (some know who's mother) as the finale' cliffhanger? (we'll maybe see some of the Castle Black battle as well?)

The cliffhanger could be Manse's army arriving at Castle Black, but not sure this would be as impacting as past season cliffhangers.

I know some may feel it too early for her (Lady Stoneheart's) intro, but TV moves at a different pace than a book. They have to end on a big moment, and they typically tie the storylines into the title of the episode. Also, it would lessen the sting of the Red Wedding a little, and give viewers who may otherwise leave, reason to stick around for season 4.

I felt that worked really well. It all happened so fast, you were left feeling a bit mind f*cked, and speechless. Rather than draw it out, and make it a gore porn fest, it was shocking because it was BAM, let the bodies hit the floor.

Even after having read the books, I knew it was coming and my expectations were far exceeded. I openly wept. It was horrific. As a mum, Cat's loss really resounded with me, and the look on her face, the wail, everything just screamed 'anguish'. Fantastic on her part, she really pricked my tear ducts haha

BIG EYE ROLL at Talisa choice of baby name (come on, Sean Bean dies in like 99% of films he's in).
