Not a bad point , from a different angle. We made Russia spend its way to collapse with Star Wars. Whats not to Say China sees us at a tipping point and trying to do the same thing with War? Just a thought
Every major conflict since Korea we have seen their finger prints....food for thought...think I'll go to wal-mart, buy something and support their economy.

Why do you think there are sanctions against NK now? Do you think 'the West' just one decided to sanction NK one day for no reason all? The sanctions did not occur in a vaccuum. They're in place for a reason, (actually several reasons). IF NK were to start participating in the world, and behaving in a manner that encouraged international co-operation, things for NK would have been different a long time ago. They need to stop building nuclear weapons. They need to stop threatening everybody at the drop of a hat. They need to understand that the world can, (and does), do just fine without them. NK needs the world a lot more than the world needs NK.

Just SOME trade, not all, they are currency hedging...which is actually a sign that they feel the NK situation may actually come to blows. If anything, THIS move (if I were NK) would scare the pants off me more than the B-2 flights. It would seem to reaffirm that China is going to sit back and let it play out.

North Korea has an ace in the hole. I don't know what it is, but if they start a war against South Korea they wouldn't do it without having one. Maybe they have nukes pre-positioned in the continental US. Nukes are not easy to detect if they are smuggled into the country, contrary to what you may have been lead to believe by the media.

Has anyone ever considered the possibility that North Korea may actually come out of a war with the south victorious. A blitzkrieg attack accompanied with tactical nukes and prepositioned atomic demolition munitions could be successful. How is the United States going to invade a unified Korea amphibiously that is armed with nukes without totally destroying the country they are trying to liberate?

Wait for the DPRK army to run out of fuel. Then attack North Korea, not South Korea.

They don't have tactical nukes, for starters. With the US forces in the region, they couldn't do a successful blitzkrieg very far into SK, and would be pushed back soon. The moment NK uses nukes on any kind of scale, it would be all over. I'm sure they are well aware of that. The international community would not only greenlight the US, but Chinese bombers would fly next to American ones, to pound the NK tunnels into rubble. You think China would want us to hit back with even tactical nukes? No, they'd join in with conventionals, just to get it done.
