Though the combat phase of the war is over, the peninsula is still without a lasting peace
By Kim Yeon-chul, Inje University professor

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the armistice agreement that ended the combat phase of the Korean War. The fratricide of the conflict did not end on July 27, 1953; it merely came to a temporary halt. We have spent the past 60 years living not in a post-war era, but under a ceasefire. Can we continue to live under such an unstable system? As we greet the New Year, I wish to ponder just what the meaning of the armistice agreement is.
could we see actual fighting on or by the July 27th? we shall see if Un has bite, not all yelping, as he tends to do oh so often.

I thought i would post this here it is the KN-08 missile and mobile launcher www.globalsecurity.org... from the link

Introduction

Circumstantial evidence had been building up for some years that had begun to suggest to US and South Korean intelligence that North Korea was attempting to develop a semi-mobile ICBM. This information though thin was initially suggested in public speech in a Singapore conference and on a trip to China to the press pool by then U. S. Defense Secretary, Dr. Robert M. Gates followed later by Admira. Robert F. Willard, commander of the U.S. Pacific Command, before the House Armed Services Committee . (20, 21) On March 12, 2013 DNI the honorable James R. Clapper stated before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence that the ..."last April it displayed what appears to be a rogue mobile intercontinental ballistic missile. We believe North Korea has already taken initial steps towards fielding this system, although it remains untested. "

The North Korean NK-08, LR-ICBM [No-Dong-C] developed from the Acad. V. P. Makeyev OKB derivation of the Soviet SS-N-6 the DPRK, No-dong-B and the Soviet SS-N-8, SLBM designs for this land based semi-mobile ICBM presently in its research and development phase.

Pending Experimental Flight Test Regime
well if it is operational I am sure this is the one they would use on the US/Japan forces and as far as the Hawaiian Islands, I do not think it could reach mainland US ie Ca,but hen you never know.

Could you imagine if the SHTF? Personally i think we would all be fcked

I see it going one of three ways

1) NK backs down and comes to a peaceful soloution
2) NK actually follow through on their threats and lauch nukes everywhere
3) US lauches pre-emptive stike and NK lauches all remaining nukes

If either options 2 or 3 is chosen then it all goes down the toliet.

On a side note, could you imagine the world if we all got on and spent all the military budgets on worth wile pursuits, the world would be a fckin paradise, not a single person hungry anywhere, no sickness and we could explore space -why the fck are we not doing this?
