I think they need to have a prophecy forum specifically for all this Revelation garbage that constantly gets spewed on here. I like my doom porn to be straight up and not speak in metaphors. People have been saying the events of revelation are happening ever since it was written.

I believe the Bible isn't the "real" story anyhow, but I do respect, study and regard it with some esteem. Having said that, I also know it has been through various editing, beginning with the Council of Nicea, onward, (that;s a very long time, especially if you believe like me a lot more time has actually passed than we readily acknowledge openly anyway), additions and subtractions.

But what you say here, even as I believe what I do, I'd like to point out to you that the "scope" of time of revelations was to cover at least 1,000 years or more, quite clearly. So........factor that into what you wrote, and I'm not sure your point of view holds much validity.

Our best historians, whether I believe they were telling the truth or not--they thought they were--would tell you that mankind's biggest shortcoming has always been his inability to guage actions, consequences, and the long view and big picture. Your comment is a perfect illustration of this.

When Rome fell and Europe went into a dark age, people were convinced Revelations was happening. When the Vikings appeared in 800A.D. as men "from the North" people were convinced Revelations was happening. 1000 years after the death of Jesus Christ people were convinced Revelations were happening, and on and on and on. Even today, I overheard a lady at the checkout line in the grocery store tell another woman that "Revelations is happening now." Everyone always thinks that their generation is the one that Revelations is taking place in. Revelations seem to be taken very seriously simply because it was put into the Christian Bible. Even by people who don't go to church.

I like the predictions forum, because sometimes I will actually hear of other prophecies from places and cultures that are written much better and make alot more sense than any of the abstract metaphors of revelations that repeatedly get regurgitated as "This is what God meant when he said this will happen." Or complicated series and patterns of numbers that are the "code" of revelations. For every decent thread about Edgar Cayce, or the Hopi prophecies or just about any other prophetic work that has ever been posted on here there are at least 10 threads on Revelations with everyone cracking the code of what John meant when he said this or that. Not to mention that the author of revelations is still unknown. St. John did not write it. The authors name is John but the writing styles of the gospel John and revelation are totally different. Also Revelations was written about 100 years after the gospel of John. So basically what I see is people obsessing and pouring over a poorly written prophecy by an unknown author. Maybe I am not seeing "The big picture." But its what I see.

I agree with you, really, if you carefully read what I wrote. That was the whole point of this:

I believe the Bible isn't the "real" story anyhow, but I do respect, study and regard it with some esteem. Having said that, I also know it has been through various editing, beginning with the Council of Nicea, onward, (that;s a very long time, especially if you believe like me a lot more time has actually passed than we readily acknowledge openly anyway), additions and subtractions.

Then if you factor in the rest of what I wrote, what I was saying (without I guess being clear enough) was who even knows when, much less who, wrote that particular book, and its constant alluding to 1200 days here and 985 there, and 1000 years here, or there, pinning down a particular time period of when the tribulation has begun, etc, is impossible. The fact is, mankind has lived in tribulation, no matter what history you ascribe to, almost from the beginning, whenever and however THAT really was........

Maybe there is a different point to such an ending to such a book, entirely, than most take from it. Tribulation is a time of trouble, but the trouble most often seems to be in what is revealed (hence the name of it), what is believed about what is revealed (notice I say belief and nothing about truth), and what is hidden.

I found some truth in what he said. I think he was talking about the falling away that must happen first and what to do if it does not happen.

it challenged man and made him evolve from savages to respecting one another, being good etc, in hopes of salvation and living a afterlife, lets face it, being a christian is all about going to heaven...

The last you wrote, really strikes a chord with me. But this above, not so much. I think we only stop killing one another in a cave because it just doesn't work so well. Know what I mean? Who wants to try to mate with the good looking cave dweller, while all the other guys are fighting to the death. Not too sexy, and not too sensible in terms of hunting for survival or mating. As far as going to heaven.....welll, yeah, I think there are a lot of people motivated towards christianity for this reason, or just for the forgiveness: the idea that this something that is bigger than them that they feel and sense like you and me, knows everything about them, alll their thoughts and things they do when they think no on sees or they lied about, and still will love and fortive them, even if they can't do this for themselves about themselves.

There's a time in one's life, I believe......it will hit you out of the clear blue, no warning, no timing that will make it seem like even fate, (though maybe a little, later when you are reflecting upon it), when you are tested. It will be a penultimate, never going back, all telling about your character kind of test involving the circumstances you find yourself in, and a choice you are given at that moment........
Understand, I believe this is totally some kind of matrix, not reality as we think of it at all, completely manipulated. But even so, I think the "makers," or TPTB, or "watchers," or whatever you call them who are our marionettes and control the environment, even they, and all their mathmatics and physics and planning and redoing to make things fit their plan, there is a SOMETHING/SOMEONE/ENTITY/ENERGY out there they don't have control over and cannot override. These small, mostly unnoticeable moments are the miracles, and they are the proof, at least for me, that what I speak of is still there, despite all the manipulations, power, and control we live under.
Great talkin' with you. Thanks.

I agree to a point about your disagreement, I still think the timing of Jesus, and the adoption of Christianity, with the gentiles stopped us from living like Romans, in all fairness your not wrong either, I think a bit of sense occurred that also contributed to our more organized ways, that is the thing thou, none of us, no religious god, maybe some animal that cannot communicate with humans may know, but we have absolutely no idea, why we exist, our scientists use our chemical reactive portion of our brain we call logic, and try to explain to us, the wonders of the universe and life, yet each night before we sleep we are no closer to understanding ourselves, or for that matter what we live in, that is the greatest travesty of life there is.. We fight over it, love it, we hate it, and we abuse it, in many faucets.

I mean cudo's to the op, the topic is decent I mean it point's out current events but, I just don't buy it being part of revelation in the bible, maybe for him it is and thats fine.. Anyhow time to move on from this thread...

S&F just for the brainstorming it provided me.

Edgar said he would be born in (or around) 1998. That would make him 14-15 right now.

A prediction came in that knew our deceased loved one was in a particular place in the river. We looked and searched for him for months.... could not find him.

A psychic was taken down the river and she pointed to his exact location and said, "He is here".

The search ended... he was there.

People predict the future, no doubt about it. The difference with this story above and a seer such as Edgar Cayce or even the Bible prophecies (?) is that circumstances change, thus choices change and with this change.... changes the outcome.

Its all probabilities based on the viewer seeing in "time".

EWR must be shaking with laughter or tears......
This thread is cucked........
The OPalmost forgetten in the personal chitter chatter.....
The Euphrates has dried up in the past...yes.....but that doesnt eliminate the prophecy does it?
The Pope may be the instigator of the one world church. or possibly the church destroyer who must preceed such a move.....
The Islam on Christians/Jews War is about to start......anytime....(personally i go with Albert Pike on this one....)
The nations mentioned in the bible seem to be aligned as foretold pretty much too....
I believe we are experiencing a plethora of things in the heavens which are both new and strange to us....
Theres, wars, rumours of wars, pestilence and famine aplenty, and increasingly so .....
But i dont think well see the witnesses in Jerusalem for a while yet,.........nor the anti christ defile the temple for some time to come...
I still think that this is just the beginning of sorrows.....much worse yet to come to fullfill the conditions for the prophecy....., set the stage as it were......

It's a lot to think about and read and of course also understand as you see it and understand. Its taken me a long time just to read the thread. lol Lots of ideas floating around for sure.

I'm not so sure of all you put forth but I will put time into it when it becomes available to see if I can see what you are seeing here.

The Rivers drying up may not be something that happens often but I do think the climate is changing and always has so, not so sure there.

Time will tell, this is for sure.

You can only deny prophecy for so long before you get to the point that the inevitable happens. Eventually, your walls of ignorance concerning God begin to fall down and truth sets you free. Let me show you something that is hard to deny.

The ONLY thing that we have been denying for too long is that fact that our physical earth is changing. Eventually our walls of ignorance to this fact, and the slow progress towards adaption, will trap us and result in the deaths of many. We must learn and implement new technologies across the board, from renewable energies to fresh water cultivation, irrigation, and maintenance, among many others.

Forget all this prophecy crap! It's entertaining, somewhat, but instead of holding your cross and praying, why don't you wake up, get real, and get to work with the rest of us to make this world a better one for today and tomorrow?

EnochWasRight, I typically follow along with your threads or posts, and find myself quite often in agreement. This time, I'm not so much in agreement. Rather I'd say, just 'static' awaiting something of substance. In your links and videos, you show the receding Euphrates river at a very low level, and it could be quite true that the volume has diminished, and left such meager amounts. I'm wondering how much has been released from the dam ? And the volume behind the dam. I take issue with the scriptures translations, and the following respondents who have added their opinions. It seems they pawn themselves off as authorities simply by virtue of having found some video on youtube. Theologians or translators, they are clearly Not..! It's either hearsay, parroting, or outright fabrication.
I know of no one who is as adept at Hebrew translation as was the late Dr. Scott, or currently his widow Melissa Scott. Melisa appears to have an acute grasp on the meanings, context and usage of the words, their possible meanings, and every nuance included in their appropriate translation of Hebrew, along with ancient Hebrew..
I'm sure there are others who have degrees in Hebrew, equally adept, or even superior in skill. But I find that what poses here on ATS as authorities, are neither linguists, translators or capable of proposing any sound context.

God's word tells us the path. Unless we follow that path, we continue to spiral down instead of up. The path is as follows.

Matthew 6:33

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Seeking God involves knowledge of his will. You are speaking of healing the earth by the efforts of mankind. I agree that it is possible, but not when our will is to take rather than give. The mark of any beast is selfishness and as long as mankind is described by the following 18 (6+6+6) qualities, we will not change the earth. (18 Items that Mark the Beast) All "These THINGS" we make by the fruit of our own knowledge can only take from the Earth. Why? They are founded on a different cornerstone than Christ. Christ pointed us toward giving rather than taking.

Here is the other verse:

2 Chronicles 7

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

The area of the world spoken of in the Bible has been a war-torn, dried up crap hole since the Bible was written. It was no great prophecy to predict that it would continue to be a war-torn, dried up crap hole today.

I shall now make a prophecy of EPICALLY BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS!!!

"An unknown day will eventually come, in which the Middle East will throw out every kind of SUCKY LIFE imaginable, and on that day, things will suck, and the evil person will be born."

So anyways, call me tomorrow when 2 billion fools think I'm god. I want to have them each send me a dollar.

You could say it dried up before, but perhaps take a step back and see the forest for the tree and so paints a whole new picture...

My point is, whatever the prophetic predictions of the bible, not just one but a multitude of them...are occurring simultaneously as at this period in time, that itself is written in the revelations of the end times.

Here are but a few.

- Recent tensions between NK, with SK, USA, JAPS then you have the Iran with Isreal and USA...

Mathew 24:6 - You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

Matthew 24:7 - For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

Luke 21:11 - And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Mark of the Beast

Revelation 1:3 - Blessed [is] he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time [is] at hand.

Matthew 24:13 - But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved

You could very well be right and I am truly hoping you are.

The first thing I thought of ( on a side note ) was perhaps someone will find the book that the prophet Jeremiah bound a stone to and threw into the Euphrates river! Source KJV Jeremiah 51:63-64

63 And it shall be, when thou hast made an end of reading this book, that thou shalt bind a stone to it, and cast it into the midst of Euphrates:

64 And thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be weary. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.

Wouldn't that be awesome, considering the whole chapter is about Babylon!
