So the RNC sold out voters in 1981, no chance of challenging fraud until 2017.

politichicks.tv...

More than 24 million voter registrations are invalid, yet remain on the rolls nation-wide. There are over 1.8 million dead voters still eligible on the rolls across the country. More than 2.75 million Americans are registered to vote in more than one state. Maryland affiliates of True the Vote uncovered cases of people registering and voting after their respective deaths. 12 Indiana counties have more registered voters than residents. The Ohio Secretary of State admitted that multiple Ohio counties have more registered voters than residents. Federal records showed 160 counties in 19 states have over 100 percent voter registration. The Florida New Majority Education Fund, Democratic Party of Florida and the National Council of La Raza are currently under investigation for alleged voter registration fraud.

In the 1982 consent decree, the Republican Party made an agreement effectively barring the RNC from “engag[ing] and assist(ing) in voter fraud prevention unless the RNC obtains the court’s approval in advance.” They basically made an agreement with the Democratic Party NOT to ensure voting integrity and NOT to pursue suspected vote fraud. The reason for the 1982 consent decree was because during the 1981 New Jersey gubernatorial election,According to The Judicial View:

So we can kick and scream all we want, the RNC has its fingers in its ears going lalalalalalalala.

But, it does not affect state and local level, so we have to fight the fraud locally.

Both parties have a lot of political fraud going on. It probably balances each other out. A google search of 'republican voter fraud' or 'democrat voter fraud' gives a whole lot of links for both. Lots of it .. both sides. Pretty sad.

At least the DNC wasn't dumb enough to fall for something like this.

Why would the RNC give up their right to challenge voter fraud? We're they working for the other side? Just stupid?

www.brennancenter.org...

Long Story short back in 1981...the RNC did some very shady things to prevent blacks and hispanics from voting. Most egregious was taking OLD voter rolls of Dems/Blacks/Hispanics and sending a mailer to those OLD addresses that specifically told the post-man not to forward to a new address, but rather to return to sender. Then they compiled the list of those returned mailers and turned those folks away at the ballot box...even if they had NEW voter registration with their new address.

The "Consent Decree" DOES NOT mean voter fraud can't be challenged. It means that Federal Court must review the basis of those challenges....and the RNC agreed cuz otherwise they would have gotten thier butt kicked in court for the shady tactics.

So the voters are still paying for those mistakes.

If the fraud is being ignored by the RNC because of this debacle, the people need to know.

Just like all the arguments over Obamas eligibility. People use the excuse, if he was not eligible the RNC etc would take care of it.

We can't rest on our laurels and expect these organizations to look out for the voter or protect the constitution.

We have to do it.

Again...read the links and associated legal docs....The fraud is NOT being ignored...but rather the determination of "fraud" is not left to the RNC or the DNC, but to the COURTS...Either the DNC or RNC can look for and declare "fraud"...but before either the RNC or DNC post people at the ballot boxes turning folks away...the Courts must approve the criteria used to determine that "fraud" to make sure it isn't BS and simply disenfranchising voters for a political parties advantage.

ANYBODY in the RNC can investigate and declare fraud...ditto DNC...but they need to submit to Court review before denying those people a vote...to make sure they aren't just screwing people over...which has happened plenty of times..

What are you missing?

in late 2008, the Democratic National Committee and Obama for America sought to enforce the consent decree, claiming that the Republican National Committee had not submitted alleged ballot security operations for review. After the election, the Republican National Committee asked the federal court to vacate or substantially modify the decree. The court denied the RNC's motion to vacate the consent decree and ordered the decree remain in effect until December 2017. The RNC then appealed to the Third Circuit, which unanimously rejected the appeal and affirmed the District Court's decision.

No, what I am saying is, I don't think the RNC is bothering to take it to the courts.

They ignoring cries of fraud from the voters, maybe not to get caught up in the past scandal again?

It doesn't always matter what is written, it matters if people actually take action.

The RNC has no problem taking it to the courts to REMOVE oversight...what does that tell you?

It tells me that an UNBIASED criteria for preventing voter fraud would not advantage the RNC or GOP.

The advantage only occurs when they are able to determine for themselves WITHOUT oversight who can and who can't vote.

Otherwise the RNC would be asking the Federal Courts to review thier claims...rather than spending thier time and money to fight Federal Courts legal authority to review those claims.

First, I'd like to see some proff for some of those claims, specifically the claim of having more registered voters than residents.

Second, so few people vote anyway that voter fraud doesn't really matter.
