Soto laughed when the judge asked if she had consumed any drugs in the last 24 hours and then said "adios" after he set her bail at $5,000.
She stopped laughing when he asked her to return and raised the bond to $10,000.
"Are you serious?" Soto asked. The judge replied, "I am serious. Adios."
At that point, Soto apparently gave the judge the finger and shouted an expletive at him.
He then asked Soto point blank, "Did you say 'f**k me'?"
When she said she did, he found her in criminal contempt of court and sentenced her to 30 days in a county jail.

While i agree, she over stepped the bounds, i also think the
judge was wrong as well. Doubling the fine just because she
said "adios" is a bit extreme.
I am kind of torn in this one. While i support the system and think
a level of respect should be shown. I think judges think they are
more than they should be. They get that god like complex and it goes
to their heads.
After all, they work for us, not the other way around. There should be some
respect going both ways.

Spoiled brat Penelope Soto flips out a judge and is shocked to be sent to jail for a month for contempt of court.

Yeah, I'm torn on this as well. Not that she didn't deserve to be punished, but putting her in jail with other criminals may only help her to be a better criminal. I wish he could have been more creative with his punishment. Heck, he could have made her stand outside on a busy street corner, every day for a month, holding a sign that says, "I am a rude spoiled brat"edit on 10-2-2013 by kaylaluv because: (no reason given)

You should respect everybody until proven otherwise.
This young non brainwashed girl was not brainwashed because she doesn't have a brain.
It's the brat culture
IF you reply to this I say
