This is really nothing more than some video editing, a similar montage video could probably be constructed to praise Obama as the saviour of the world or something ridiculous like that.

The video is flawed because Ragan was not talking about Obama it’s just someone who has taken everything he had to say and put it out of context. It does not contribute anything meaningful to modern day debates, it’s just a anti-Obama propaganda snippet, it is not a hard hitting political argument.

If people want to oust Obama and expose his failings then this is not the way to do it.

I also think the title of the OP is misleading, “Regan warned us about Obama”, it implies that Regan has some kind of psychic ability to predict Obama’s rise to the presidency when that is clearly not the case.

If you really want to make a difference try to get a few simple laws on the books. One repeat term for Congress, none for the Senate. No more legal lobbying.

Your memory is spot on with the way I remember things as well. Reagan was more or less the grandfather of fear mongering which laid the way for future administrations to learn from and utilize in their own ways. He was also a serial tax raiser who cut taxes for the rich while increasing taxes on the middle class, tripled the national debt, unemployment skyrocketed under his administration, he believed in and established BIG government, was responsible for a proxy war with the Soviet Union all the while funding Islamist fighters in Afghanistan which led to the creation of the Taliban (who today are labeled as Terrorists), and Iran-Contra was his puppy.

It's clever editing, but you could do the same thing probably by combining clips from south park against clips from Obama .. it's a tactic used quite often.

That being said.. while I loved Reagan's personality, charm and his the way he could give a rousing speech .. I'm not so sure how much of a great president he truly was.. his perceived legacy is far greater than his actual presidency ... I'm sure I'll get flamed for that.. yeah he's one of my favorite presidents .. but not for his presidency so much as for his like-ability

It's looking at reagan with rose colored glasses.. and exactly what many people feel will happen to Bush .. history vs. reality don't always line up .. but in this day in age it's sacrilege to speak out against reagan if you're a politician .. back then, it wasn't .. he wasn't adored by his colleagues nearly as much as he's, supposedly, adored by them now.

And despite what ever Reagan did the video speech in the OP pegged Obama to a tee and that is what this thread is about!

As I said Reagan had some short comings but he loved America and had good intentions but was exploited into doing many of the things he did not realizing how it would morph in the future. Doesn't excuse his short comings but never the less he was better then most. Yeah he would be hated by the republicans today because of his libertarian ideals even though he did not live up to them in his presidency.

As for using the word marxist I know what it means far better then you and your neo marxist buddies on here who have tried to redefine the term to suit your delusions and shut everyone of you wannabe commies down every time we have debated it so if you think you got what it takes bring it slick! I find the recent surge in Reagan-worship to be disturbing. Do people not realize that he was the first term of the current regime? People like to talk about how Obama is the 3rd and 4th terms of W, but the truth is, we're in the 10th term of this admin.

I am not defending this video or anything of that nature - but why is it that if people do not approve of Obama or his policies that they are automatically branded as racists? Democrats voted vehemently against the newly revised Civil Rights Bill in 1965. Al Gore sr. filibustered the bill to keep it from being voted on until JFK was shot. LBJ was the most racist POTUS in American history. He used entitlements to enslave the black community to the Democrat party. Democrats have historically been the racist party. The only member of Congress to ever be a member of the KKK was a Democrat. Democrat presidents have presided over 95% of the wars America ever fought. Democrats were screaming about Iraq's WMD';s long before Bush ever took office. They are the ones who set it up to happen.

Look at all the bank bailouts, automotive bailouts and the stimulus Obama has been dishing out, stealing from future generations who wil not possible ever be able to pay it back. What made this nation great was in that we were manufacturing just albout everything at one time, and exporting everywhere, now we manufacture very little and import almost everything, from Asia, specifically China. Now look at our inflation as our federal reserve prints money we don't have the gold to back up. nations that have money in the bank are not 15 trillion in debt. The gold we do have in reserve doesn't belong to us, it belongs to every one else holding the lien to our debts. Now tell me how spending money we do not even have, is going to get us out of debt? Thats the equivalent of using your credit cards to pay off your other credit card debts, shifting money you do not evne have from one place to the other, it's absurd and the american people need to fire this government for its gross mismanagement of the nation.
