my guess is this is not true. banks dont care what you spend your money on, especially if youre borrowing it from them

I quit using every credit card I have late last summer. I only use my debit card which is issued from a local credit union. I think thats called, living within my means. I havent even thought about credit cards, I'm so fed up with big banks in every aspect. It was really an easy move to make. I live in Austin, TX, make under 50k/yr and my wife is a full time student. We have two car payments, my student loan, rent and everything else and I NEVER use credit cards. You can do it too!!

I've never typed "I never use credit cards anymore" until now.... and I must say, it feels great being able to say that.

We have stellar credit.. and closed out all credit accounts some time ago. Yes, its a great feeling, but they nag you to DEATH.. all sorts of over the top offers like cash matching and give you a 150.00gift card if youll just PUHLEASE sign back up for their interest rates.

The only things we have on any account are 2 cars and our mortgage. Also we are going to be short a little over 300 bucks a check now with the tax nonsense. ( yeah yeah, some say its not an increase, but with everything rising in price and to at that very time to reinstate those taxes.. well that was just a braniac idea.. )

One of my business accounts is with BOA and I likely have put low 3 figures through that account in the last year. I am thinking now of closing my account. They will not miss my little account I expect but if this is the way they do business they are not a Bank of America they are a Bank of Globalist Corporatist Socialist collaborators in my opinion.

I'll let you in on a little secret, your money is not your money.

All Federal Reserve Notes are the exclusive property of the Federal Reserve bank. They can order every single one out of existence, so to speak, by announce that all current denominations printed before such and such serial number of a certain year are hereby valued at zero despite whatever the printed value is. And thus your hundred dollar bill is fancy printed paper and nothing more.

There is an old adage about putting all your eggs in one basket that no one ever contemplates when thinking about the actual value of fiat currencies.

I'm not sure how much I believe this story either. Now I don't doubt Sirochman's story, but I don't think you can apply that policy to consumers. He is a retailer selling firarms, not a consumer purchasing firearms. The youtube video doesn't show someone that is denied purchase, but is asking about the rumor. The rumor that started with Sirochman being intentionally inconvienenced by idiot policy.

The policy Sirochman encountered has been happening for over a year to various firearm manufacturers and retailers. McMillian Arms was dumped by BOA for purely political means at the beginning of 2012.

I've had a BOA account, since 92, for day to day expenses - nothing stored, invested, or financed with them - ever. However, I have purchased guns and bulk ammo over the net, since Sirochman's story came out with no issue.

Like others have said I agree, just do a cash advance withdrawal on the card and pay cash!

However, as far as I know (someone please correct me if I'm wrong), that technically if it's a credit card, it's not YOUR money. It's the banks money they are lending to you, that you pay back. Hence the term "credit" card. Now if they were stopping purchases through debit, that's another story.

No that is not correct the bank is not lending you any money it is your money. The signature on the credit app creates the money from thin air.

Isn't it illegal to record a conversation on the phone without the other party being made aware of this?

Law abiding citizens need to start being law abiding.

But other than that, I can't believe the bank has such audacity. Now that would make me want a gun...

Only one party needs to be aware, and that party can be the one recording. It's illegal for a third party to easedrop and record a conversation without the two parties knowing without a warrant.

Actually, that is not true. The issue changes from state to state and Florida (where she said she is from) is a two-party consent state. Which means the only time you do not have to tell someone is in a public place or such setting where it is reasonable to assume that you will be overheard anyway. Phone conversations in FL are always assumed to be private and you must tell the other party they are being recorded.

No harm, no foul though as should could have claimed to have person on speaker phone and other people were present, if they denied it. However, she put the thing on youtube, so there goes plausible deniablity.

No sympathies here.
I ditched BOA some time ago.
She should have moved to a credit Union like so many other Americans did when Wall Street got their bailouts.
My credit Union doesn't dictate what purchases I am allowed to make.

This may have been answered already, but I know in Georgia and a number of other states, as long as ONE party knows there's a recording, it is legal.

Gee, it'd really be too bad if everyone, en masse, took their credit cards, bought up an arsenal, and then defaulted on the payments...

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

*sigh*

We're arguing the wrong thing here, IMO. Yet again we have an ideal time presented to us to review some steadfast rules:

The golden rule, of course, is somewhat related to this (though the OP is mainly dealing with ammunition purchases). DO NOT purchase firearms from dealers. Private party purchases only, and leave no paper trail.

The side rules which are very relevant to the OP:
1. Learn reloading. Not only is it far less expensive than purchasing ammo, it also is a rewarding hobby/passtime. I guarantee your knowledge of your firearm will increase greatly through reloading.
2. If you must purchase ammunition and/or for purchases of any firearm accessories, PAY IN CASH. If you happen to be in a situation where you must use plastic, use only prepaid, NAMELESS cards. If you have money leftover on that card, do not use it to pay any bills or to "half pay" for something you will then use a debit or credit card issued to your name to complete purchse of. If you are asked for ID when purchasing any of these items with cash or prepaid card, cancel the purchase and leave the store. This stuff is like camping the Boy Scout way. In other words: LEAVE NO TRACE.
3. If you live in a state which issues a CCW to a particular handgun serial number, THAT is an example of a handgun you want to purchase from a dealer and (reasonable) ammo you want to leave a trail for. It you live in a CCW state and you're licensed but don't have a particular serial number on record and have purchased everything in private sales, simply pick one of your handguns to be your paper trail firearm in regards to plastic purchases of ammo and accessories.

We already know BOA is run by a bunch of scumbags. Any further deceptions or inconveniences they levy on their customers resides on their customers' shoulders. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me... we won't be fooled again. The individuals in the OP should have known better long ago.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Bank of America = Bank of Fascism

I quit dealing with the globalists, only deal with credit unions now. Better interest rates, no fees.

Videos already off.

Banks have been doing this for years. Telling you how you can spend the money you put on your debit cards. Try to buy something online from a vendor that's over seas ?

What does this have to do with the second amendment? I do not recall the part where banks had to allow you to use your credit cards to buy guns? Not that I think this story is the least bit true.

It doesn't....the agent obviously had no idea what she was talking about from what I gathered. Like I had mentioned on a previous post I really think the only thing that they deny regarding guns is buying merchandise from McMillan, due to a debt from the looks of it.
The very first paragraph out of her mouth contained "I heard a rumor". Just another person jumping the gun (oh dear a pun) on some hearsay.

Corporations and banks are publicly held trusts (stockholders for example) They have no expectation nor right nor priveledge to privacy, not when they're publicly traded and I do beleive bank of america is. Hey it even looks like it's the top of the Publicly traded Companies List.

Yep And add to that a corporation is not a being. It is not a person and corporate personhood is a bloody crock of spit.
