Guns are designed to kill.

Cars are designed to transport people.

There's a massive difference.

You do not NEED guns. Ever. Full stop.

Your country is the very essence of what is wrong in the world.

I hope I get banned as this site is just full of gun toting American religious bigots or 13 year old missinformed losers.

Riddle me this.. Just because a car wasn't meant to kill people and it ends up killing millions it's ok because it wasn't specifically built to kill people? Make sense? But the missle is the devil even if it sits in a silo and is never fired taking no lives.

Terrorist is a made up word by the American government to put a face on a faceless enemy and to skew the worlds view of middle eastern people's to get the moral backing for an invasion into countries to over throw the current governments to lay ground work for a later agenda so.... No I don't fear terrorists. However I do fear heavily armed and well trained (by ex American soldiers) Mexican drug cartels who run an entire country and are the judge, jury and executioner and just so happen to be able to WALK onto American soil and there IS NOT a single military personnel guarding said border and a handful of poorly funded and armed border agents.

Now when you guys have our guns taken and the cartels see it as a free pass into America without Americans firing back what do we do? Send the military to the border to have the cartels go into gorilla tactics causing collateral damage to border states and kill Americans. You know what those cartels are waiting for.... OUR GUNS TO BE TAKEN AWAY!

Cars are designed for transportation, not to be killed, unlike guns, whose sole purpose is to kill.

Now if you want to take in the numbers of people killed in war, by guns, most likely guns have killed more than cars.

Also, people get into cars knowing they can be killed. it has become are part of the human ecosystem. They CHOOSE to get into cars, unlike people who were killed by guns and never had a choice.

Also, once the driverless automobile comes out, those deaths will be reduced, drastically.

in its use. To own a car, all you need is a car.

License, registration, insurance, inspection, and training are only a requirement to operate a car on publicly owned or operated roadway laned for traffic. If you wanted to collect Ford mustangs, let's say, and all you did was park them in the garage, and occasionally drive around the back yard, no other legal requirements exist.

Just saying, the whole cars-v-guns anology dosent work...

If you're really concerned about car / road safety in the U.S. you could take a look around to see if there is any other place on this planet that does a better job at the task at hand.
Maybe you would see how driver's licenses and safety regulations are attributed and enforced in Germany.
Maybe you could learn something to improve your situation.
But I doubt this is going to happen, because all this requires pragmatism... and pragmatism is hard to find in U.S. politics nowadays.

This argument in all its forms is idiotic. Guns have one real purpose, either to kill, or harm. The sole purpose of cars is transportation. Guns aren't being banned because they can be misused, they are being banned because they are being used for their real purpose, which is to kill.

My stab was that if people are SO DAMN CONCERNED WITH PEOPLE DYING IN THE WORLD/COUNTRY WHY ARE WE ONLY FOCUSING ON AN ISSUE THAT IS A MINORITY TO THE BIGGER PICTURE.

If you really cared about lives you would agree that maybe our transportation system should be revised to save MILLIONS of lives. You don't need a car if we can GREATLY reduce deaths by autos and still have a successful transportation system in America. All that money you pay for registration could be redirected to pay bus drivers and cab drivers.

This is not a gun vs car thread it's a 1 gun death > 500 auto deaths.

And I will go as far as to say. Automobiles have killed and injured more people than all wars combined.

Guns are only meant for killing.

Cars are to get from point A to point B. They were not made specifically for killing.

Guns serve no other purpose other then death. Cars serve a purpose of getting us around easier and farther in a shorter amount of time then walking.

Your argument is a FAIL. Guns are bad, guns are death. Guns need to go.

By your argument we should also ban Lightening. I mean that doesn't even make sense at all. Comparing apples to Planetoids doesn't good logic make.

Fact is the world can easily say 50% of the bad influences out there are American.

So before you go defending your ways, you have to ask yourself: Since the USA has been central on the world stage, what good has come from it? How has the world gotten better?

Now you can be biased and defend your country till your last breathe, or realize the truth. The world is not a better place since WW2, it's back to the way it was just before WW2 as a matter of fact except now our weapons are far more destructive...well not our...just the USA's and it's allies. Sheesh the US even supplies arms to it's enemies, supports terrorism in countries it wants leaders ousted out of. The dirty laundry list goes on and on.

So save your "holier then thou" constitution story about how you need guns to yourself, the rest of the world don't buy that BS.
