"I may deport myself" says Piers Morgan, if we don't change "crazy gun laws"

The Daily Mail, in response to a growing number of petitions for Piers Norgan's deportation (now 90,000+), has published an article by Morgan in which he threatens (offers?) to deport himself "if America doesn't change its crazy gun laws."

I can spare those Americans who want me deported a lot of effort by saying this: If you don’t change your gun laws to at least try to stop this relentless tidal wave of murderous carnage, then you don’t have to worry about deporting me.

Although I love the country as a second home and one that has treated me incredibly well, I would, as a concerned parent first – and latterly, of a one-year-old daughter who may attend an American elementary school like Sandy Hook in three years’ time – seriously consider deporting myself.

www.dailymail.co.uk...

Many Americans do not often contribute to the comments at The Mail, but the response has been immediate and overwhelmingly in support of Morgan's self-deportation.

The comments are worth a few minutes of your time to browse.

Here's my original post, which was rejected by the editors for calling attention to the Brit's penchant for injecting opinion, hyperbole and falsehoods into their idea of "news."

"This is a warped, twisted logic that bears no statistical analysis and makes no sense. Do you fight drug addiction with more coc aine? Alcoholism with more Jack Daniel’s? Of course not."

Your "twisted logic" assumes prohibition works.
UK and Australian violent crime rates since Dunblane and gun bans prove otherwise.
As did our failed 18th amendment and the "war on drugs."

Brits falsely believe central government is the answer to all problems; ignorant of our Federal system in which states (are supposed to) regulate conduct of their citizens. This will return, when "We the People" regain control from the progressive/gascists currently in charge.
.
States with reasonable gun regulations have fewer gun crimes.
www.theatlanticcities.com...

www.guardian.co.uk...

www.cdc.gov...

Your false "statistics" are no more than a reflection of your proclivity for doctored photos, facts and disregard of privacy; all of which seem to be common to British media.

Good riddance.

See what you think, and be sure to offer a comment or two or vote-up the best of the others.

I love the way Morgan has changed a horrible event into an 'it's all about me' event. I really, really despise the man. He's grabbed a hold of one of the most horrific events in recent memory and is leeching it for all it's worth to benefit his own personal PR machine.

The w*nker.

I must agree with the statement that they choose to ignore the facts......
Simple truth is they cannot fathom that we do not want to be forced
to rely on our central government for everything, and not only will
i say that but i will go on to say this: it is a MASSIVE, MASSIVELY
foolish thing to do so, how many times throughout our own modern
day recorded history have governments, even ones that seemed
too big to fall apart, simply collapsed and left their citizens to
fend for themselves......

I do not want to live somewhere that will not allow me to be self sufficient,
i believe that is wrong, to take away someones ability to not only protect
themselves but to hunt and gather foods is literally going against our
very nature as human beings, this is a sick idea and i just don't understand
those who would lie down willing and trust those who have proven they
very well do not have our interests in mind........ We must maintain the right
to be self sufficient, at all costs, how can these mad people turn over
their safety to a group of people who fight over the most petty of things?

WHO GIVES A F!@#
Seriously The best that this thread has to offer is this nimrod's BS statement.
There is no conspiracy that is big enough to even consider other than the truth about the children that died in that school. PERIOD.

I will say no more in any thread tied to this tragedy.

Have a nice flight Piers! I'll have a pint with you on the other side of the pond.
Maybe some thought should be put into not allowing people who are on "Big Pharma"
Anti Depressant/anti Psychotic meds from having access to multiple loaded weapons.
How about that for a "Gun Law"?

As in Purchasing Question: Do you have a Dr.s note stating that you are not being treated
for Mental Illness and are not currently taking anti depressive/anti psychotic Medication?
Do you have one witness in good Legal standing that will vouch for you?
How about Gun owners keep their weapons locked away from these type of individuals?

Could a law like this bring thousands of our troops home?
Could that be a major factor in the equation?
Think of the implications. Maybe you shouldn't , as they are rather troublesome.
What a Mess.

The "nimrod" and others' ignorance has been voiced and pushed by idiots and the MSM since BEFORE Aurora and Sandy Hook.

This has not so much to do with "the kids," but with outsiders' (and "insiders") defiance of the 2nd amendment and imposition of their preferences over law.
David Gregory's illegal stunt is a perfect example of the attitude that some are above the law, and that it should only be applied according to their personal preferences.

It's called "reparations."
We have long memories and a written Constitution over here.

Does Piers need his own thread now? LOL.....

Who cares. His ratings are low and all he is doing is trying to bring them up. CNN made a mistake (and probably paid him big time).

He is the Left Wing Bill Oreilly (doesnt deserve his ').

Have Piers do an interview with Bill and Ahmadinejad to show who really is smart and who isn't (isn't deserves the ').

So let me get this straight. It can't be this easy.

ALL we have to do to get rid of this annoying twit and see him leave of his own doing .... is have Congress do nothing? Oh heck! Why didn't he say so sooner! They do that every day for free! Have a good flight home Piers....It shouldn't be long to realize you'll want to catch one.
