A letter from a Chinese factory is asking for help of those who receive it to resend it to a human rights organization and spread the word about the treatment certain Chinese citizens are enduring in re education/forced labor camps.

An Oregon women bought a Halloween kit from Kmart last year and discovered the letter this year decorating her house for Halloween. She first posted news of this on Facebook, then sent it to the local media and human rights groups. She says the weirdest and saddest thing about this is that someone is really hoping this letter will make a difference.

From suicide nets outside of Foxconns (Apple inc.) dormitories to secret letters pleading for help, what's it gonna take for the worlds population to stop buying products made by China? One big problem we, the world, face is that a lot of our crap is made in China. Trying to avoid products from China is damn near impossible. Had we not bought these products to begin with we wouldn't be in this mess, I guess, but it needs to end. Will there ever be a day when slavery does not exist on this planet? We got some major issues we need to deal with but who is gonna save the Chinese people? The answer is it all begins with them. They must rise up demanding change, justice, and freedom. So many of them, together they are unstoppable.

Who will stand with them?

The letter came in a box of Halloween decorations purchased at Kmart, but for a year Julie Keith never knew. It gathered dust in her storage, a haunting plea for help hidden among artificial skeletons, tombstones and spider webs.

Keith, a 42-year-old vehicle donation manager at a southeast Portland Goodwill, at one point considered donating the unopened $29.99 Kmart graveyard kit. It was one of those accumulated items you never need and easily forget. But on a Sunday afternoon in October, Keith pulled the orange and black box from storage. She intended to decorate her home in Damascus for her daughter's fifth birthday, just days before Halloween.

By the way, the Chinese Gov't is all for and agrees with Washington DC that the American people should be disarmed.

And this is what is gonna happen in America, too, mark my words...the crackhead corps want all the deregulations brought here, they LOVE China's work policies and they demand that if we want to keep them in the states (APPLE AND MICROSOFT) that we should also use their work policies. And believe me these facists will succeed because people are too stupid to stand up for something as simple as the right to bear arms. What do you think they'll frigging do when they disarm all Americans??? You think it's gonna be lollipops and rainbows? You must be dislusional, It is for the the 1 % gonna be lollipops and rainbows for the rest of us and our kids it's going to be hell on earth, actually hell will be looking good, that's why so many chinese commit suicide.

I am guessing you have forgotten our own history during our industrialisation is the same thing the Chinese are currently going through. China today is a look at our past. And yes we had guns back then to, not that it made a difference or has anything at all to with China at the moment. This is what cheap labor looks like and is why we do not make things in the US anymore. As China moves on, they will stop making stuff and somebody else will instead,

I do not trust this so called American Gov't and do not like the idea of a population who isn't armed. We the people are already losing the battle but the war will be lost if we are disarmed.

During Americas and the west industrialization period people worked in terrible conditions, child labor comes to mind, but their only defense was there were no laws or real life experience working in a factory. China does not have that excuse because western has shown the world what life can be like working in a factory that does not have human safety, let alone rights, in mind. So the lessons are already available for them to learn but things aren't getting better in China. What's the Chinese Gov't doing to protect its people? What are they doing to harm them?

Oh no doubt, that is even pointed out in the article. Could this be a fake? Maybe someone working at Kmart did this as a prank? Perhaps some teenagers. The letter being written in English makes ya go hmmmm...? Although, the letter itself appears to come from Chinese origins thanks to the Chinese characters. Reading the letter you quickly realize that English is not the authors first language or it's a prank does very well be a Kmart employee.

If it's a prank maybe the prankster will come forward but maybe not.

Third time today you say? I found 1 thread while doing a search that used the same title and it was 404'd. Odd, but ATS 404ing a thread is just bizness as usual. Now why do you say this will be the next Kony 2012? Are you defending China's labor practices or saying the woman who found this letter is only doing this for the money and will most likely soon be naked in the streets masturbating screaming like a lunatic?

You are incorrect during our industrial revolution the labor was not forced. People had the option to leave and go elsewhere. Granted economics and exploitation made it hard for many workers to do that but 80% of our population still lived on farms either as owners or help. So it was a far cry from China's forced labor today.

Having said that this is very sad and it is still prudent we try harder not to buy Chinese goods as much as possible....
