Are you 100% positive that it was Va Tech? The reason I ask is b/c I heard about a campus in WVA (Ferrum college/univ. - not sure about the spelling) that sounded similiar to what you mentioned earlier in the thread.

it was being reported that a child was shot, a teacher shot in the foot and the principal.
How did it go from that story to all of this?

In the scurry to get the headline, news agencies often report wrong or misleading information. It's a developing story so facts won't be certain for possibly days yet. I think it's a race to get viewers, which fund their advertising budgets. It's all business.

Actually, what it is, is piss-poor reporters who are better at networking themselves into jobs than they are at doing those jobs. This is what corporate culture is like. News is business, after all, and success in business (corporate business) is about entrenching yourself and protecting your turf. Just like it used to be with government jobs.

You don't have to be at school to tweet. 6:47 is a good time to get parents attn BEFORE they take their kids to school.

News conference going on right now:

Governor of CT - Perp is dead, as is an individual that the perp lived with.

State Police LT Vance - Active investigation, cannot confirm/discuss some things as of yet. Received 911 call at 9:30am. Several departments responded, immediately entered school without delay. 18 children dead at school, 2 dead at hospital. 6 adults dead at school. Police not publicly identifying shooter yet due to investigation and search warrants. Scene completely secured, ongoing documentation of evidence. No time stamp as to when this will all be completed.

Question about other crime scenes, answer - secondary crime scene, adult deceased at that location.
Question not audible, answer - information shows that shooted was in one section of the school, two rooms.
Question not audible, answer - one shooter, still investigating.
Question about deceased - confirmed 26 deceased plus shooter, total of 27. 1 injured. Does not include deceased at the second location.
Question about ID, answer - still establishing positive ID on both shooter and victims. Preliminary done with all of those, will work with medical examiner to make it positive and official.
