People do stupid crap when they drink. People in groups do stupid and dangerous crap when they drink.

You just described every thread outcome & post I've created after 1AM.

I do happen to look like Jesus though, not as Irish looking as the OP's Jesus, but more authentic.

I seem to turn everything into wine, or something that gets me lit.

I help the blind see, with Alex Jones & David Icke videos.

I also get pissed off at merchants who rob and steal from the poor.

Conclusion: Jesus was an alcoholic.... and still is through imitative mimics.

Oh please emotional trauma lol remember the source is the Daily fail and they like to spice up a story (lets face it they had to with this non story)
He has a great tale to tell his Grandkids.
I'm out of this one.
Like I said you are just bothered he was called Jesus nothing more.

Jesus Christ, all thats going on in the world and you get all bothered about this?
edit on 13-12-2012 by boymonkey74 because: (no reason given)

It bothered you enough to fight for the international darts fan base even though you were an indie rock god in your youth

No offence taken, i assure you.

Look, the point that many maybe missing about darts matches is that the majority of the crowd go for the banter rather than for the actual darts themselves.

It is all about getting dressed up and having a drink and a laugh whilst singing songs about each other. We have always liked to insult each other over here over pretty much anything. Look at the types of nicknames we give our mates that then last an entire lifetime (usually based on something that happened to them once, for about 2 seconds).

Banter is the point. If you can't take the banter, stay out of the darts match!

There are more sources other than the Daily Mail...have a look in the OP...read!!!

You are out, because you do not have a valid comeback in regards to the incident. You know your personal experiences pale in comparison to what this guy went through. You are also trying to write this off as nothing, when the whole crowd pretty much broke the law by verbally assaulting him in public. Others went a step further and physically assaulted this innocent man...just because he looked like Jesus.

Yes, i am bothered that he was called Jesus, because the public used it in an intent to cause physically or emotional harm. This man did not deserve to be placed under the stress and emotional harm of being abused like this.

And I get all my friends to taunt him, (rather than get into something physical)

Safety in numbers hey

Not really, because I would probably be more inclined to throw an elbow if it were me by myself. Unfortunately, people like to act like they are invincible if they feel like they have an upper hand. I make an effort to be extremely polite in public, especially at sporting events... Not all people do though. Having a group of people let him know he is outnumbered so he stops acting like an ass, is far better than 1 person getting into fisticuffs with him isn't it?

I've changed my mind. This isn't a non story, it is a major news story. It is evidence that aussies seem to have lost their sense of humour.

No, the real reason is because he was emotionally and physically assaulted. The crowd used "Jesus" as an insult.

They insulted him by calling him Jesus.

People are not allowed to insult another, whether it be physically or verbally. Some of the people there did break the law.

Fair enough..and I'll admit, I am looking at the story and video through American eyes and values. Perhaps some things are cultural and I'd say, considering it, they sure are the other direction. lol.... My experience with darts is a few late nights as a guest in at the VFW Hall. Fun game in that setting and nothing like this is. I'll step back and watch more from people who live there or know darts in this way a lot better than I do.

* I.E... If this kind of thing is standard or expected .. even just stuff similar ... I sure wouldn't know that and you're sounding like that is exactly the way it works. The above assumes I'm reading you right on that.

You keep dragging me back.
Show me where it is against the law to verbally insult someone. Please do.
