Havent read it all, its a loooong blog. Just wanted to add my .02, for those asking about inflammatory foods. I see wheat and sugar were listed, and thats good. One main thing you are missing though is dairy. Wheat and dairy are the two most inflammatory parts of our diet, though raw or fermented dairy may be ok. Regular consumption of these two items alone keeps us in a state of constant inflammation. I recall an article a couple years ago, where they linked almost all immunological issues, arthritis, asthma, allergies, to childhood consumption of wheat and dairy products. In the study they found that most of the patients who were taken off of these two things for as little as two weeks had massive reductions in asthma, arthritis, etc. Red meat is also somewhat inflammatory.

Now, i dont know if these things are necessarily inflammatory by nature, i think it has more to do with our processing, chemical (steroids, hormones, pesticides), and genetic modification practices here in the U.S., as I've heard several times from people with allergies who travel to Europe, that the foods over there didnt bother them.
At any rate, my philosophy is that if you look around at all other animals in the world, they eat mostly two things. Meat, and vegetables. Not a lot of things out there that eat massive grains, other than bovines. So that is what we should eat too. And by that, i dont mean a McD hamburger with lettuce and tomato. Real food does not have ingredients lists, doesnt come in a box or bag, and doesnt have FDC on it anywhere. In my grocery shopping it is simple, and cheaper than my girlfriend, because all i buy are chunks of meat and vegetables without packaging. Simple and affordable, and way more healthy. Nothing that says "made in", or has a big brand name like Kraft, Kellogs, or any garbage like that.

One last thing to add. I was diagnosed with celiac's disease about 5 years ago. I was also told my cholesterol was mildly elevated at the time, i think it was about 212. Well, for the year after that, with the drastic changes in my diet due to celiacs, i had difficulty finding a new diet type. So my diet that year consisted mostly of eggs (they were gluten safe!) of which I ate at least 6 a day. Went to the doctor a year later, and my super egg diet had apparently dropped my cholesterol 32 points, and i was sitting at 180. The incredible edible egg! Dont believe the anti egg hype. Not that i was worried about lowering my cholesterol, but there ya go.

Yes, agree with every word - trans fats are the killers - there was an article back in the Times in uk in 2010 claiming that they are the number 1 cause of heart disease and heart related problems but aside from that i have never seen it properly broadcast.

I think it is a combination of laziness and in my eyes there is no excuse for that (as in people cant be bothered to make something decent and like you said would sooner tear open a packet and bung it in a microwave) and also education. If it was common knowledge how bad all this processed junk actually is and the fact you are poisoning yourself essentially by eating it then people might start to do something about it i.e. learn to cook decent food ....but nowhere mainstream seems to highlight it which of course i guess comes back to the fact these big multinational food companies protect their own interest through government sponsorship. And also, people learn to love this awful food .... i wonder if you eat enough of it, if it almost becomes addictive..... twisted !

Designed to make us buy "medicines" that will cause us great harm if we ever stop taking them. You stop taking cholesterol tablets and, conveniently, your cholesterol levels go through the roof.

Just like antidepressants make you go insane if you stop taking them, and antibiotics make your immune system lazy and weak because it starts to rely on the "help".

Designer drugs designed for profit...

Two parents with heart disease, I fought to get on statins-- after having HBP after my daughters birth...
Still frustrates me, does it work, is it working??? ...Is this increasing my chances of diabetes???

Damned tired of treatment is more profgitable than a cure... ya know???

I know that I've lowered my bad ones by eating oatmeal for breakfast for 30 days.

I'd certainly advocate the oatmeal for mopping up the cholesterol. That, combined with the likes of Benecol yoghurts etc can be pretty effective in reducing "bad" cholesterol levels.
Personally, I'm not a fan of statins, they just don't agree with me. That's not to say they're not for anyone though. There are a lot of people who for whatever reason will benefit from them and should take them.

Having worked in cardio-vascular medicine for over a quarter of a century I have to vehemently disagree with Dr Hyman about inflammation being the cause of heart disease (I believe this has already been proposed with a Vit C slant by someone else). Inflammation certainly DOES occur, but it is as a RESULT of atherosclerosis rather than the CAUSE of it.
CRP is certainly a marker for heart disease but discount hyperlipidaemia at your peril.

Going back to the first post though, I can't speak for the States but in the UK there has been a campaign which has been running for quite a while now regarding the benefits of healthy eating from a cardiac perspective.
Certainly in clinics and med centres in the UK, two of the main questions asked are "what are your eating habits" and "how much exercise do you take?".
So OP, I suggest you change your doctor to a more up-to-date one.

I had high cholesterol, all I had to do to bring it down to normal levels was stop eating processed crap food, and cut down on dairy and meat. It took a whopping month.

Dairy products are bad for you, the myth about milk being good for you was started by people that had large financial ties to the dairy industry. Milk is made for growing offspring, specially formulated by nature, to feed their own babies. Why people thought it was a good idea to drink milk from another animal is beyond me..... The only dairy I really use these days is a bit of milk in my coffee, and the occasional slice of cheese on a burger.

Meat in itself is not bad for us, but, people generally eat way too much, and way too large servings of it in a sitting. Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing type of deal.

If you make sure a majority of what you eat is raw fruit and veggies, you will feel a whole lot better.

Sorry I just skimmed through, I'm a skimmer at times


I was under the impression that a whack of cholesterol breaking free and getting stuck in your napper (i.e Stroke) was equally as devastating as getting stuck in an artery (If not worse) although forgive me if I am wrong, I don't see stroke being mentioned in the OP which as far as I know is certainly a concern in the medical profession in regards to high cholesterol etc.

Forget that though and the disclaimers, I don't see the conspiracy here and I will tell you why, it is no secret. You need to eat healthy and exercise to be healthy, everyone knows this but would rather get a quick fix treatment, for example give be tablets for my bad heart or give me tablets to lower my cholesterol, rather that getting of your arse and doing it yourself but following old faithful (Healthy diet and exercise)

And I am not sure what Dr's you all are going to, I have visited both private and NHS Dr's which all have been great to be honest, I have mildly high cholesterol, had bad indigestion etc, felt like crap, first Dr told me that I need to exercise and change my diet, drop a stone or 2. So rather that take advice from Dr one I went to private Dr, private Dr told me that I need to exercise and eat healthy, drop a stone or two. I then went to and specialist re the bad heartburn, what did he tell me? Yeah, so I took the advise and dropped over a stone and felt 10 times better (I put it back on though)


So my point is that it's no secret, eat healthy and exercise, and with that will come the correct cholesterol levels, whatever they me be. It's better than a quick fix, but its not easy cause Ive been there

Tin isn't taken up by the plant if a lot of fertilizer is used. I can't remember which of the three main compounents of the big three causes that. I think it was either Phosphorus or Potassium. Our commercial farm soils are getting burnt out. Tin is necessary for one side of the heart, to sort of balance things. We used to get some from the food sitting in tin and reacting with it but that doesn't happen anymore because of the plastic lining. We don't need much but a deficiency effects the heart rhythm. That is what I have read anyway.

my 2 cents, my doctor also prescribed a statin, took for 3 months, saw signs of liver impairment and felt bad..aches etc., quit and felt better in about 2 months.

I grew up skeptical of anything that was claimed "healthy" or "beneficial" in society, as I was born in North America.. the land of fat as*es lol..


All it takes is one trip to the grocery store, read almost every "nutritional value" label on any food produce.. and everything is raped in sugar. EVERYTHING has this 'sugar' label. I learned not to trust these labels.. The only thing that has ever made sense to me when it comes to comsumption of food; anything that comes from Earth without man's additives.

Thats the bottom line in having a healthy life style, a great heart, a witful brain, and a strong spirit...eat what grows from Earth. Nothing manufactred, no fake food, nothing 'complimented' in tons sugar etc..

Thanks for putting this information in one place, I will spread this knowledge on my facebook, friends and family

Thank you all for your input: The good, the bad, the ugly, and the complacent.

It's been a heck of a ride...this has been the most exhausting thread I've ever done. The day I wrote it, I spent over 4 hours babysitting it. Yesterday, almost 12 hours, and most of that was fighting to keep it from being hijacked.

When one puts out a "conspiracy theory", it is expected that one will get attacked, ridiculed, bashed, flamed, and sometimes, thank God, supported and patted on the back. All in a day's work on ATS (or two, or three...).

I had wanted to put this out there for a long time, because it started to dawn on me that something is greatly amiss. It started when I learned that cholesterol was necessary to make vitamin D (among its many other functions), and how vitamin D is the missing piece for people struggling with things like cancer and other chronic diseases.

If cholesterol is so necessary, why is it being villified as a monster to be wiped out, the less of it, the better?

Why are parents told to put sunscreen on their kids every time they step outside the door? Why are so-called "experts" saying that everybody needs to be on statins? Why are healthy people, with no sign of heart disease, put on this drug? I know that big pharma is greedy, but this seems to be bigger than plain old corporate greed.

I started to think that, by eliminating vitamin D, it is a sure method of soft kill. To elaborate, "hard kill" means that somebody is killed on the spot. "Soft kill" means that you kill somebody, slowly, over time, so that they have no idea what is happening to them, they just get sick, and die sooner than they normally would have. For example, slowly poisoning somebody's food, so that, over time, the poison builds up until they can no longer function, and they die.

We are being assaulted on many levels by toxins in our environment, food, water and air. Some people, though, are pretty hardy, and can withstand this poisoning. To make a eugenics program such as this more effective, it is necessary to damage the immune system, to cripple it from within, so that the outer toxins can take root and cause things like coronary artery disease / heart attacks, cancer, diabetes, etc.

Diabolical? Certainly. Evil? Of course. Plausible? I think so.

The fact that the cancer wards are full, not just the adult wards, but sadly enough, the pediatric wards, says volumes to me. The fact that most of us are either "pre-diabetic" or diabetic is telling. Most of us are physically sick. We have come to accept this as "normal", but it isn't!!

If every so-called health expert that is sanctioned by the state is telling us to live a certain way, and eat a certain way, and yet a lot of us are still struggling with weight, fatigue, disease, and depression, somthing is definitely amiss.

I started thinking this way after seeing a banned episode of The Men Who Killed Kennedy, with Judyth Vary Baker explaining how she was involved in a government program to create galloping cancer culled from cancer cells of mice. She came up with the idea that, by bombarding unsuspecting subjects with a lot of x-rays, she could bring the immune system down so the cancer would take hold more readily. She was told that it was to take out Castro, so she was a willing participant in a very bad thing.

I like Ms. Baker, BTW, she is a cyber friend of mine, and I believe every word she says.

Anyway, the idea of taking down the immune system isn't new. The methods are newer, but the idea is the same.

I put this thread out there to make people think. Are TPTB really concerned about our health and well-being, or are we being set-up (or pushed) into a soft-kill situation because there are too many of us, and for what they're about to do, we need to be sick, tired and struggling in order for them to pull it off?

I'd like to thank you and other posters on this thread....I've stopped putting sugar in my tea as of today...raw cane sugar,but still not as good as none^^

I can certainly live without wheat....have to,in fact....more than a figurative handful and i'll start getting problems.

Stopping dairy products...now that will be a problem-they make up about half of my daily calories.

Dang.Time to re-write my diet plan.

I wish I could get my mom to read this thread, SnF OP, great topic and some good info here!

My mom has adult onset diabetes, and is on about 4 different meds, one is for cholesterol. She told me it gave her leg pains, her doc suggested it was a reaction with another med, but I think it's just bad medicine. She lives in FL where they specialize in really old people who just want to live to watch tomorrows soaps and get deals on soda at Walmart. I've tried to get her to eat healthier foods more suited to her blood type, but its harder to do where she lives.

I think it's time to send mom some links from this thread
