He was a Specialist before being caught and busted to PFC and his MOS was 35F, Intelligence Analyst.

Intelligence specialists use information derived from all intelligence disciplines to determine changes in enemy capabilities, vulnerabilities, and probable courses of action. The Intelligence Analyst is primarily responsible for supervising, coordinating and participating in the analysis, processing and distribution of strategic and tactical intelligence.
Source - Army MOS Descriptions
Could part of the reason he leaked info.be because of his demotion more than his desire to see the truth divulged I wonder now.

He was caught THEN demoted, not the other way around.

Whatever reason he had for doing this is not good enough. Give me a gun, I'd gladly do the job myself.

Manning gave up info that could have gotten US Troops killed. Didn't seem to bother him any.

What was the info that put troops in danger?

I keep hearing this, but I've never heard anyone elaborate on exactly how he put troops in danger.

He knew what he was doing and he broke the oath that he took. Doing what he did can cause irreparable harm to both the country and the individuals out there fighting for it. I may not always agree with what this country or out military does, but I am 100% behind the idea that you do not betray your country by way of treason, and I would gladly flip the switch, push the syringe, or pull the trigger for this man's execution.

That is the way I feel, and it will not change one bit.

I've been through the exact same background investigation that he went through. I am no fan of having to fill out the EQIP (formerly EPSQ) every 5 years. There's a lot of information to fill out, and the investigation done for the clearance (especially if he had to go through the SSBI, which I'm sure he did for his position) is EXTREMELY thorough.

If there were any "red flags" as far as the government is concerned, I have zero doubt they would have been seen. Nobody can predict the future, but hindsight is always 20/20.

So you're willing to murder someone because they caused the US government embarrassment? You must worship those invisible borders drew on a map.

Poor baby. Someone get him a bottle of milk.

Traitorous bastard.

He is a hero, going against a corrupt government that tortures and kills innocent people.

While you are a waste.

Exactly, too bad they didn't slice his throat and dump into the river.

Some people amaze me..."wahhh wahh, a traitor is being held in a box, wahhh". he should have been shot a long time ago.

I'd gladly shoot him in his mouth, if given the opportunity.

I second everything you said...you speak the truth, the others that don't like it are insulated from the real world, or they don't have any idea what taking an oath means...

A hero to who? You? Who are you? You are nobody, that's who. Have you ever taken an oath? I have...and believe you me that what this guy did was a disgrace...where's the proof that you have seen which makes you defend him so? wikileaks? So if it's on wikileaks it must be true, right genius? That's right, you've seen nothing & know nothing...you are just another one of our enemies who take every chance they can to demonize the USA. Let me make this clear: we do not care what you cry babies from the UK or anywhere else have to say. If we want to execute him for being a traitor, that is whats going to happen. I f we ant to put him in a box and poke him evry time he falls asleep, so be it.

The same goes for you...you go against the USA, you better be ready to get put in a box, maybe one 6 feet under...

I don't give a damn about what stupid American oath you have taken, your a #ing slave. There is never an excuse for torture and murder. Talk all the threats you want, but it will be your daughter/son slaughtered like a pig by some retard muslim and for what? to push America debt ridden, low quality of life, hilariously low intelligence levels on the world?

You English not so good too.

You should talk.

Go back to school. When you've learned proper grammar, come back and maybe we'll pay attention to your useless comments on an American traitor.

Until then you're just another fart in the wind.

And I don't give a damn about how we use your soldiers as pawns! It is YOU who is the slave, slave to the USA & her interests. We no longer bow to your whore queen, we make you bow to US and do OUR bidding, when & where we say! Make no mistake, you, your country, and everything /anything you stand for means NOTHING to the USA, we will crush you and laugh after we do it.

By defending a traitor, YOU are doing nothing but exposing yourself as an enemy to the United States of America, for this I thank you...

You did nothing, the French did all the work for you...... While you were busy killing innocent native americans (things never change huh?)
You need us much more than we need you by the way, all your missile defence systems rely on stations in Britain and its overseas territories and commonwealth nations.

See BOLD. That last sentence is a COMPLETE disaster. It isn't even a sentence. You also need a hyphen. Oh, EYEROLL.

"Man"ning is still a traitor.
