Israel is bluffing on tracking Iranian Ship.

They don't even know where the missiles came from.

Or they should have acted while they could.

BTW , Israelis made the war for three reasons

1-to test their Iron dome ? (the missile shield)

2- to see the stamina of Palestinian people and reaction to a great act.

3- to know the enemy and friend. They learned Qatar is friend , Saudi kings mouth has been fed. Turkey is an ally. Egypt is an enemy. Venezuela is enemy. Iran is an enemy.

The most important is that they learned that ? Mursi in Egypt is not as loyal as Mubarak was.

Just mho.

Really? The tracking of such vessels is pretty much routine. Think of the shared intelligence that Israel obtains from Allied nations? No Iranian vessel goes out of the Persian Gulf/Gulf of Oman without being monitored and tracked. Yes they can turn off tracking devices such as AIS (Automatic Identification System), but they still have to utilise weather, navigational radar and also communicate with national entities while in transit. Do you not think that every such vessel has had its weather and navigation radars catalogued? Same goes with the vessels propulsion system being catalogued and its unique noise signature used for tracking.

Yes all such vessels will be monitored and tracked but the problem is what is the vessel carrying. Just because an Iranian vessel or chartered vessel docks in a Sudanese port does not mean that it is involved in the carriage of missile components or parts. It isn't open warfare and Israel can't sink, stop or board every such vessel so the missile components and parts will obviously get through. They can then be smuggled through Sudan and into Egypt either by the land route or offloaded at sea by small vessels such as Egyptian trawlers and up into the Sinai. Extremely difficult to stop such a supply route.

Iran has a desperate problem now trying to find flags of convenience for its shipping, but that doesn't stop a fully registered Iranian vessel from being used for Sudanese trade. Not a lot Israel can do about it as even they are not going to stop, sink or disrupt vessels entering Sudan.

www.ft.com...

In addition Iranian transport aircraft can be used to fly missile components, etc into Sudan. They don't have to fly across international borders as they have the range to route over water and utilise international airspace.

Another development and I don't think this is a good sign. Canada has pulled our diplomats from Israel and Gaza. The last recall was from Syria and Iraq. I think there is a worry of violence since Palestine has entered the UN that Israel will make a move. The article says they are being recalled for discussion, but they certainly don't have to be pulled out of a country for a discussion. Also the tone of the UN meeting was one of conflict with Hamas accusing Israel of genocide.

Iran is playing with fire.

On the one hand, I support them in their bid to give Gaza/Palestine the arms to defend themselves, but on the other hand they really are upping the ante.

Remember when Turkey send medical aid into Gaza and Israel attacked it? That was between two NATO members. Imagine what Iran and, to a lesser extent, Syria will do if Israel attacks the ship.

Russia, I think, are just positioning their power there to sort of warn Iran away from delivering it, but they are also willing to jump in and protect Iran. Russia is the kid who wants everyone to play nicely and if they don't will toss a few slaps. America, Israel and Iran are all looking for escalation (By having a foreign enemy, support for the current regime stabilizes) and want to kick stuff off.

***

Didn't Egypt recently increase ties with Iran and decrease ties with Israel? I have a sneaking suspicion that Egypt is going to try and instigate a fight between Iran and Israel in the hopes foreign nations will relieve Syria of Bashar Al- Assad and allow the Muslim Brotherhood to take power ('The road to Tehran starts with Damascus')

It will be interesting to say the least.

Spying!
Go back to the start of the thread. It is relevant to the topic. These are transmissions routinely picked up by many radio enthusiasts worldwide. I'm simply keeping those following the thread up to date where these vessels are in near real time. It sometimes takes ages for a media report to appear. If you trawl through the conspiracy websites they think that the Russian Navy is still positioned off Gaza! The same doom and gloom WW3 theorists that probably still think that Russian Navy warships are also positioned off Syria in some sort of show of force. The realities are somewhat different.

The Russian Navy Tug MB-304 deployed with the Task Force is now positioned in the Northern Aegean.

rusnavy.com...

The Russian Navy News website had a nice article highlighting all the deployments from the Black Sea Fleet during 2012. Unfortunately the article has been removed. The previous article from November is still present.

Black Sea Fleet Ships Deployed Longer in Mediterranean in 2012. In 2012, intensity and overall deployment duration of Black Sea Fleet (BSF) ships in the Mediterranean Sea has grown. That region is considered the fleet's area of responsibility. BSF warships and auxiliary vessels have performed 9 deployments and 12 visits to foreign ports this year. Range of tasks, deployment geography and performance intensity have considerably expanded as well. Following BSF assets were on mission in the Mediterranean Sea and the Gulf of Aden in the current year: hydrographic ship Donuzlav, landing ships Nikolai Filchenkov, Novocherkassk, and Caesar Kunikov (2 times), frigate Ladny, destroyer Smetlivy, floating workshop PM-138, replenishment oiler Ivan Bubnov, seagoing tug MB-304, and rescue tug Shakhter. BSF diesel submarine Alrosa carried out long-range cruise from Kronshtadt to Sevastopol. Overall deployment duration of BSF ships at remote sea zones in 2012 is about 15 months. Guard missile cruiser Moskva, destroyer Smetlivy, landing ship Saratov, floating workshop PM-56, replenishment oiler Ivan Bubnov and seagoing tug MB-304 currently continue performing tasks in the Mediterranean Sea.

Interesting developments on the Russian Navy front. Tanker Ivan Bubnov is now moving south in the Aegean Sea! Possibly elements of the returning Black Sea Task Force that were on their way home have had new orders in regards to the current situation in Syria?

The Russians will want to have the large landing ships, frigates and destroyers that were part of the recent Black Sea Task Force in the region for possible evacuation plans of Russian citizens.
