Clouds outside my house were just glowing and pulsating. Video included.

The cloud looks very low to me. It doesn't even look like it's lighting up a broad area. The light looks to be confined to a small area like it's coming from a source on the ground in that spot. I think the OP is trying to pull one over on you guys or he's just not very smart.

I really don't think he's insinuated anything paranormal or supernatural or anything. He just wants to know what it is.

I agree completely that it appears to be from the ground up and confined. My guess would be a tower that's in some low clouds or even road crew trucks. Ours are yellow.

What sort of camera setup did you use to film this?
Also, do you know of any landmarks in that direction (football fields, casinos etc) that might be worth taking into the equation?

was thinking about the same, airfield some nightclublights, i live about 5 miles outside a big...ish city and when clouds are low enough and its really cold outside (dont ask me why but when its cold its better to see) i see something similar

He is most definitely trying to insinuate it's something abnormal.

So many negative posters attacking me personally here just for uploading what i saw and asking what it could be. Where is your humility? wow. I never insinuated that it was anything supernatural. All I asked was what do you guys think it is? My leading theory as people have said is probably something ground based. My only problem with me saying okay that's definitely it, is because no one has yet to find a video that reproduces what I saw, using that explanation. I'm not trying to pull one over anyone. Just wanted to have a discussion about what this could be. I never tried to sell you an idea of what it was so why would I lie about it.

To everyone else, I will reply to your questions in a few hours.

I'm going to wait till tonight to look at this video again but I'm in middle size screen seeing nowhere near the same kind of detail in this video. Nowhere near the same. In small screen I can tell no difference but middle screen- yes.

This is not directed to the OP personally but this whole thing is really starting to upset me.

There is footage within footage in this video... that's what it looks like to me. This whole thing and everything that happened around that time frame is really getting to me.

In the small screen I can still see what I was seeing but it's hard to make out.... too zoomed out to see a lot of detail but it's there. In mid screen now when I look at it.... it's totally pixelated. Something is totally messed up about this and it's really bothering me.

I've see this before. Low cloud cover and an emergency vehicle casting its light above.

The luminosity generated is more like the strength of a lighthouse light... or brighter.

There is no way some emergency vehicles caused such a bright pulsating in the clouds.
edit on 19/11/2012 by ChaoticOrder because: (no reason given)

No, its not. Not even close. Lighthouses generate more light than that while not in the fog, but directionally, and dont hit the same area even remotely that fast.

2 light sources each with a perfect 0.5 Hertz interval.

You've got yourself some emergency vehicle lights flashing.

Let me guess your near a military testing area? I and many people saw clouds flashing with no lightening, near Porton-Boscombe Down, Wiltshire about 2 years ago. Seems they found a way of making the flash more regular.

So basically you're saying you know there is nothing to this video and you're posting it to see what kind of ridiculous responses you get? You insinuated it was something abnormal when you posted it on this site. I guess you haven't seen another video because people don't waste their time posting videos of fog reflecting ground light. In other words, you're easily amused. I can't wait for your next video "strange lights in the sky" oh wait, it's just a plane.

Coming home late one night a few months ago I noticed in the distance an extremely bright light. It appeared to be still several miles away at the road level. As I got closer, well as we head toward each other, it became apparent that it was a vehicle of some kind. Eventually we passed each other and I can honestly say I have never seen such a light display on any other vehicle of any kind.

This thing looked like some of the large hwy dept work trucks that are common; truck body with large equipment boxes in/on the bed, except that it had several rows of unbelievably bright flashing LED lights mounted on it. Most of the lights were white with a couple of them yellow. This rig was blinding in its intensity. I still have no idea why the lights were on in the first place. Boys with toys I would suspect.

If such a vehicle were in the area of the low clouds in the picture it certainly would have lit them up just as the video shows.

I saw this exact same thing 3 weeks ago at 5:44 in the morning at my house in southwestern CT. It really freaked me out. It was after hurricane Sandy, and the power was still out, so I figured it may have been a transformer, but it sure didn't seem like emergency lights to me either. I tried filming it with my phone, but it must've been too far away because the video was too dark. And wow, after reading some of the replies on here, it reaffirms my choice to not post much on this site. Lighten up people, jeez!

I certainly have never seen anything like that
whatever that is good thing you got it on video. Wonder what would happen if yo were to get multiple copies of the video and send it in to the local and the world news stuff?

Be interesting to see how they spin that video. Good luck hope you catch it tonight and whatever that is is safe for the residents to be out in.

Wow, thanks for posting this! On October 21 or so (I just remember because I said that it was 10 days before Halloween), I was driving in the evening with my son over a bridge that crosses the 805 freeway in Sorrento Valley (San Diego, CA). He pointed out what he said was a lightning cloud to the North. I pulled over to observe it..it was a singular cloud, flashing repeatedly just like this. It was to the North/ Northeast and seemingly on its own, as it was not particularly overcast. It went on the entire 5 minutes or so that I watched it. It definitely grabbed my attention, as my mother had told me maybe a week before about seeing a flashing cloud that did this the entire NIGHT.
I am used to all kinds of weather phenomena from lightning to hail to hurricanes. I have even seen flash lightning. This was not flash lightning..it was almost liked a timed strobe emitting from only one cloud. So bizarre.

Those actually look like beacons illuminating cloud cover. The utility company would definitely have those on during a power outage while in their trucks restoring service.

Another poster observed that the pulse pattern became erratic toward the end which is likely the introduction of a second beacon source out of sync with the first: another utility truck arriving on scene..

HAARP heating up the ionosphere? They plan on installing another 180 antennas. That would make a total of 360. Possibly to have weather control over a large sphere perhaps? I don't think that number is a coincidence either. Sounds like the Atlantean mistake all over again.

Ionosphere?

The lights you are seeing are in the lower part of the Troposphere, only a few hundred feet off the ground.. You are thousands of miles off the mark.
