Here's the thing, though: Anonymous has taken up the mantle of a vigilante organization. When that happens, the inevitable questions are -
Does this group think it's above the law?
Does this group have morals we feel comfortable with?
Where does this group draw the line?
Can we count on it to do what's right, even when it wants to do otherwise?
How do we know this group is legitimate, and not a cover?
How do we know this group won't eventually work for itself, rather than the people?
Vigilante groups scare me. They can be useful, but they're also unstable. Do you want a rabid dog to guard your family?

You're dodging my questions by fingering the lack of context. Well, how's this for some context?:
We fought so hard against SOPA and ACTA, and now Anonymous has turned and is pretty much enacting those same ideas on other countries? Anonymous is a gang of hypocrites. God forbid someone oppress our freedoms, but we'll do it to someone else in a second.
Anonymous is a band of bald-faced cowards who serve themselves for themselves and only pretend to defend us so we won't interfere with their work. They want to protect our freedoms, right? How much do you want to bet that if we step up and confront them, they will oppress us themselves?
Is that enough context to answer your rhetoric?

Do you know how many terrorist attacks have started on a website? How many rebellions and uprisings germinated on the web? How many anarchist and revolutionary movements found their roots in the cyber community?
That's how the antics of Anonymous can start a wave of paranoia and defensiveness that closes down what little remains of our freedoms. The government doesn't want to take chances with the greatest source of power it possesses: us. In "Legend of Korra", one of the secret supporters of the Equalists took charge of the police force under the guise of a supporter of Benders, and began to oppress the regular people in an apparent attempt to defuse the Equalists.
As a result, the regular people, many of whom had not decided their loyalty in the matter, came to see the Benders as oppressors, even they they were trying to oppress the REAL oppressors.
You see? If oppression is used to fight oppression, you're throwing gasoline on the fire. That's what Anonymous is doing. And who's to say they won't oppress the oppressed even as they oppress the oppressors?edit on 18-11-2012 by AfterInfinity because: (no reason given)

Greetings Citizens of the world,
This is Anonymous. It has come to our attention that the Israeli government has ignored repeated warnings about the abuse of human rights, shutting down the internet in Israel and mistreating its own citizens and those of its neighboring countries. November 2012 will be a month to remember for the Israeli defense forces and internet security forces. Israeli Gov. this is/will turn into a cyberwar.

I support Israel, anyone who really doesn't is ignorant and a coward to let Gaza, shoot rockets into your country and not do a thing about it. as I stated before they shot 768 rockets prior to this war, in just 2012 alone..Would any of you really keep letting it happen, someone to launch rockets into your country and not do a thing about it?? I'm happy that this time Israel isn't killing as many civilians this time, more focused on taking out terrorist sites.
I'm just tired of everyone thinking Israel is the bad guy, they're the ones defending there families and country. I hope if anyone was to launch rockets into my country we would do the same!
