hello ats, I currently work with a guy that shows many signs sociopathic behavior. Holier than thou mentality, complete lack of apathy for other co workers, extremely manipulative, sets unrealistic goals and will try to destroy anyone that gets in his way, and has succeeded once so far and he also ended up being the one to fill the empty position. He will go thru production plant bragging out about his pay increase when there are workers out there who haven't seen a raise in over ten years. just constantly starting drama, then denies denies denies. He definitely has the higher ups fooled, now he's trying to start f'in with me.

He is currently trying to get the guy i work with on a day to day basis fired. and has taken great strides to single him out and force blame of mistake on to him. This he is not quiet about he will very casually tell you that, that is his intention, and will tell anyone that will listen.

My issue comes in now that he is trying to play off my emotion of several injustices in the work place that have been bestowed upon me, Trying to get me to snap and go off on said guy or take my issues to the owner, and also feeding in to my contemplation to quit my job, because i have similar complaints about the man he is trying to destroy, by constantly rubbing these injustices in my face at every given chance. For example I was promoted 6 months before him, but since then i have not seen a pay increase or put on salary as i was told i would, he however has the owner by the balls and has since got two pay increases and put on salary, he was quick to tell me this, as he knows its one of my biggest issues currently, and then follows it by im not telling you so you get mad i just though it could help you to make a decision on what you do next, as far as quitting or going to the boss and teling all the things i am angry about, witch are related to the guy he wants gone. I would hate to see you go but i can help you with your resume if you want. Really gtfoh!

So my ats friends i ask of you, How do i make this guys head explode metaphorically speaking.Im not experienced in mental health issues at all, so im not sure how these people brains work and what sort of stuff will send him in a million direction trying to re plan his scheme.

To many of you this may sound wrong or pretty messed up of me to try to do, but if you only knew half of the mental anguish the a-hole has put me thru you would understand.

So i ask of you how do these peoples minds work?
what kinda stick can i throw in his spokes to send him over the handle bars?
what kinda triggers can i pull to just turn his world upside down?

As of right now he doesn't know i am on to him and for all i know he may not even recognize his own sociopathic behavior, which could make this all the more fun.

Like i said i know its messed up but this guy has it coming any help would be appreciated.

He's a creature of ego. Marginalize him. Treat him just like you might a petulant child that you are forced to deal with. Be outwardly polite, but let your body language show intolerance and boredom. Subtly patronize him. If he brags about the raise? Simply say something like "I respect that you took that position. But me? Not in a million years. Not worth the hassle..."

When he tries to turn you against others, always passively take there side. "Yeah, Mike has some issues... but he's good people..." That sort of thing.

But cover your butt because the second you begin to make him feel uncomfortable, he will focus his petty attacks upon you. When this happens, undermine his authority by acting like you have no idea what he's on about. Be overly polite and courteous to him in front of others... passive and helpful.

He'll snap if you can outlast him at this game. He'll implode and probably quit or get fired because he will want to take it to a "If that person doesn't leave then I will" point.

Oh, and I said NONE of this... I've got a rep as a nice guy to protect...

Whatever you do don't let this fool bait you! If you give an idiot enough rope he will always eventually hang himself. It sounds like he's trying to get you angry enough to go to the boss on a mad tirade, making you look like an ass. Why do the dirty work for him?

Two best ways to deal with an over-inflated fathead of an ego: Ignore it, and/or be humble. I know, sometimes you just wanna gun someone down and get it over with quickly, but where's the fun in that? Heh... watch them writhe a little as they try to get a rise out of you, but you: you be like water. Just don't play their game, because, as the saying goes, "They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

good advice heff, he has already thrown the " do something about that guy or i will leave" ticket at the owner about the man i was talking about, and lo and behold another raise and salary. if i can out last him he will shortly be on his way out. Your advice instantly clicked with me and i know it will eat him alive. lol Thanks and my lips are sealed

I agree, a digital camera or recorder if it is legal in your state. In my state and many others, it is perfectly legal to record a conversation without telling the other person as long as you yourself are a party to that conversation.

What you need to do is get another sociopath to take him down. You know.. fight fire with fire... Heh heh heh...

Give me his name and any and all information that could possibly be helpful to me. Complaining to his superior about him as a customer (or if he doesn't work directly with customers then say I bumped into him at a place you know he frequents and he let it be known where he worked before participating in some not very flattering behavior, or calling his home and speaking to his wife or sending "something" in the mail for her to find (std or paternity test results?) are just two of my specialties...

But the only thing with that solution is once you get rid of the first sociopath, then you gotta find a way to get rid of the sociopath you used to get rid of the first one. You could find yourself involving yourself with quite a few sociopaths before you find one you can live with... might be better to find a way to handle the one you have now. Everyone has a weakness... what does he really really like? Power maybe? Could you fool him into saying reckless things about people in power over him and make sure they hear it? Maybe they receive an anonymous tape of it?

You don't seem very experienced in this kind of wet work... You may want to hire a professional. I'm not allowed to advertise myself on here, but you can find other revenge specialists out there who can set him up to ruin his reputation, and you have that added layer of separation which gives you plausible deniability in such a situation. Usually all it takes is to have a female talk to his wife or girlfriend. Fortify that with a convincing phone call to his boss and you've got him from both ends of his life. Then if you got the bucks to spend and you really wanna nail the bastard, you could always go for the Trifecta: All of the above plus a $20 bag of blow planted on him and a phone call to the cops saying a guy matching his description just asked me if I wanna buy some drugs and showed me a white powdery substance before entering his place of work, preferably on the same day or the day after the complaint to his boss. Dumped. Fired. Arrested. Yeah you probably won't be seeing him for a while... If the first complaint does not get him fired or demoted or whatever the contract states, more random complaints from different people at different phone numbers can be filed until the desired result is acheived. We have agents in all of the lower 48 states and we can accommodate your needs for any company policy that may be in place regarding getting someone fired or demoted. Positive customer reviews/comments can also be purchased in various packages depending on the needs of our clients.

Naw, just kidding but wouldn't that be crazy?

I sent this to my husband. Im sure he will enjoy this.. thanks!!

OP, I was involved in local politics etc.. ran the city crimestoppers and things of that nature. My Mayor and I have a hate hate relationship and he is very similar to what you are explaining. Heff is right, you know
Its not exactly killing with kindness.. its more like controlling the contact withe the person. Subtle manipulation. These types HATE it when they cant feel that sense of " oh Im so cool" when they cant get a rise out of you or a reaction. LIke MANY even here on ATS.. there is no greater thrill to them than making someone feel bad or sad or upset. The more they shove you down, the better they feel. They are probably the most weak perosnalities on the spectrum. They also hate it when you treat them as completely irrelevant.. and you CAN do this even in a boss/employee situation. This type isnt really sociopath or anything that interesting.. just a run of the mill "little guy" who gets a feeling of worth from being a position to dominate someone. I call it the tiny penis syndrome when its a man. heh.He is like the king of a pile of crap.. a nothing.. yet he thinks he is really in control and something special. Shove your emotions in your sock and treat him like he isnt all that important.. be very polite.. treat him like a simpleton. He will blow his stack in no time.. I will bet money on this. They are like petulant children when they dont get that " Im da man" feeling fix they go nutty. Just be sure you record it or get it on film..
HR or whatever dept of your company handles these things would drown their own kids rather than pay a harassment or etc suit.

oh he disrespects the owners of this place on a daily basis, all you have to do is say hey have you seen the boss? and thats all he needs to tear him up from work to his personal life. the guy is truly something else.

I need to go home and listen to some acdc dirty deeds and plot my course of action.
