But.. the US new an attack was coming and didn't do anything. Also, our government has been giving money and weapons to alqeada in the mideast to fight in libya and syria. How can they still openly support financially and militarily the group they are at war against?

This has to be one of the most wonky things I've read on here in awhile! On what grounds does this make sense? I knew the judicial system in this country was all over the place, but this is a whole new level of unbalanced.

Honestly I see this as a new way to spark hatred towards Iran.
Possibly even promote new warfare because of unpaid debts...*ahem.
This is akin to blaming Iraq for 9/11 but the attackers were Saudis.
Or did we not actually fall for that already....[facepalm].

These shmucks are just trying to put a face to blame in order to ramp up public support.

So if we went to Iraq because of the attacks, are they being charged?
Oh wait....because we already got the leader of that country...probably not.

Funny. This whole order.

What a ridiculous propaganda piece.

Uh huh... so now the Iran Government is the master mind behind the plot. How convenient.

And exactly how do they expect terrorist organizations like Al Qaeda to pay fines?

This is crap! It should be $6B per PERSON!!! And another $6B for killing our freedom!!! I mean, if its symbolic, why not just, you know, REALLY go for it?? $6B TOTAL??? How much is that per person after you subtract the value of all the buildings and airplanes?? How much is left over for the emotional toll on the whole world?

It would be funny if the mailman accidentally sent the bill to the CIA or whoever else allowed this to happen after so much intelligence and access to the worlds most expensive defense systems, radars, fighter jets, etc... and divide the money between Americans... Ah, 99% of the money would be funneled to Walmart and drug cartels within 2 days anyhow...
edit on 5-10-2012 by 3n19m470 because: oh, and casinos too... i forgot how much some people love gambling. the first thing they would do if they got a bunch of money, is go to the casino, so they could win a bunch if money, because that would be so cool to have a bunch of money, i could just imagine what i would do if i had a bunch of money, I would head straight to the casino so i could try to win a bunch of money, bc that would be so cool if I had a bunch of money!!!!

edit on 5-10-2012 by 3n19m470 because: THIS JUST IN! It turns out that $20 is not "a bunch of money" after all... 300 million times $20 each = 6 billion..... I think.

edit on 5-10-2012 by 3n19m470 because: wait. whata the population of usa now? the onky thing i remember is that its always been 300 million ever since the last, and first, time i looked it up about 10 years ago... but the thing is... hold on... this is really hard on my brain right now but here goes... stuff...changes...and stuff... after...time...goes and...changes it... into... new time. Just like right now, its comin! you feel it! the new time! oh, now its gone...forever.

Exploiting 911 for popular support again. The drums of war keep being beat.

No mention of the saudis anywhere.

How about taking the wmds they NEVER FOUND in iraq as payment?

Seriously, aside from disinfo agents, christian and jewish fundamentalists, do rational individuals still fall for this crap?!

The propaganda deluge continues......................this is a total piece of mind control.
They, (the NWO), simply put, are burrying our brains in #!
Sooner or later everyone will go along because of the sheer volume of it!

This judge is totally out of his mind! Ah sure they look the same so lets blame them, it reeks of racism and BS.

I think this video sums up the judge perfectly

He is a total.....

Well hey, the 'hijackers' passed through the U.S. (on their way to heavenlol) so shouldn't the U.S. be held accountable and responsible for the attacks as well, if we're going to blame Iran for the same thing, according to Israeli-Cathedra?

::Read between the lines here people:::

This has Nothing to do about trying to get money out of Iran. This has Everything to do with planting the seeds of "notion" into people's minds that Iran had some direct involvement in 9/11. Remember - Tell a lie often enough and people soon believe it to be the truth. Hell, look how many people think that Honey-Boo-Boo is cute. See what I mean?

I see this as nothing but a PR stunt (psyop for you die-hards). Expect more of the same and a steady ramping up of "news stories" instilling notions of Iran being the bad buy in various events, scenarios and actions.

Dear ATS Readers, Writers,

I read a story last night at No I dont remember the link sadly, but it said the reason thAt Iran got hit with the fine was the bad guys who did 9-11 "passed through Iran" on their way to commit the 9-11 crimes.

To me this was pretty thin gruel for such a heavy fine.. What I read, only reason stated was they passed through Iran to do the crimes.

Some guys sneak through the border, OR paid somebody off at the airport gates to let them through..ok.... maybe find out who broke the law at the airport and prosecute them according to Iranian law..??

And someone mentioned, so Saudi Arabia gets a free pass??? Man, logic is out the window on some of our news these days, or decisions made by "judges"?? "Some" of these judges are beginning to remind of those Nazi German judges you see in the old B&W documentaries eh?

You erased the moustache off the face of the furher of the fatherland cardboard poster, off you go to auschwitz!

A shame something MORE SOLID than that couldnt be pinned for such a heavy fine. More BS, more war propaganda in my opinion.. at least in Irans case.

how lovely *sarcasm*

now i get it...
the US is paying isreal reverse-compensation for that gulf of tonkin incedent
it makes way more sense than charging islamic country's with paying it

the US is like the mafia
if they cant make the hijackers pay compensation
MAKE THEIR FAMILYS PAY!! and if they dont pay... their familys neighbours cousins dog will!!!

HOLY You nailed it on the head my friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a star for that one! LOL

XACTLY! And just look how HORRIBLY incompetent they were at stopping these hijacked jets as well eh??

If the judge gave em 6 billion for Irans "fault"; then by reason of guilt and incompetence USA should owe them about 6 TRILLION EH?

Yep, more and more "mind-bytes" will be planted in the days ahead, as others have stated too here in this thread.

Theres this website called google. Its helpful.

Furthermore, this "news" isnt about a trial. The trial is over and done with and finished last year. The current news is just about the final value of the fine that is supposedly to be paid.

Threads from last year...

Some of the case against Iran...

And yes it does kinda annoy me that people make threads without bothering to do 10 seconds work to find out anything more about the topic than the ONE webpage they have in front of them at that moment.

Well mister high and mighty... not to mention rather rude.

People DO searches, and the headline they use doesnt come up, or a few versions of it dont score a hit.. so they post it.

So now you say stick this on the END of a year old thread???? MEH!

Perhaps a tip or two to get a topic to come up using the ATS search engine,?

edit on 5-10-2012 by pravdaseeker because: forgot to mention ATS search engine which is what most probably use?

Wasn't destroying Afghanistan enough? Guess not. And since when was Iran involved? They should be fining the CIA and Mossad.

Also, what about the money US has to pay to thousands of children killed in drone strikes?

Looks to me like they just made a total mockery of the US legal system. And before you say ' it always was a farce ' keep in mind you've never charged a foreign nation to the tune of $6 billion before. This is whole new territory.

Your own source states why Iran was named -

Iran was blamed by the US court partly because some of the hijackers passed through the country on their way to carrying out the attacks.

While Iran irritates the crap out of me I dont see how the hijackers going through Iran makes Iran complicit in any manner. If so then it means we would need to hold European countries, as well as Canada in addition to the US, responsible since they passed through those coutnries as well.

The ONLY thing I could see that would justify it is if Iran new who they were and what they were planning and failed to stop it (again an argument that can be made against the US government as well as European countries as well).

As for the award if I am reading it right its not a criminal case, but a civil case. Civil law in the US is different than our criminal law. The standards of evidence are lower, preponderence of the evidence as opposed to beyond a reasonable doubt, and if by jury it only requires 9 out of 12 jurors (in general, there are some exceptions - like personal injury) instead of a unanimous jury (12 of 12 in criminal trials).

Facts straight? Nope. John McCain, is that you? It does make sense though...the US are very quick to blame other countries while doing the same thing elsewhere.

Perhaps Iran could appeal this decision and in the process of that appeal
cause a re-opening of the official 911 investigation.
