This is a video from Preston: twitter.yfrog.com...

It has also been seen in the Netherlands: green fireball with a tail.www.ufomeldpunt.nl...

On the 19th, another spectacular meteorite was seen: www.ufomeldpunt.nl... taart/

Isn't that strange? Or is earth still in some tail of the Perseids?

Is it normal for meteors to travel such a long distance at such a low altitude and low speed, before hitting the ground?

I think it depent on the angle of re-entry
If it at 90 to 45 degree it fast
if it 45 to 1 degree it slower and longer in the sky

My laptop wont accept the 'format' of his video...so he's getting it onto his lappy as I type. He says he will email it through to me...so I just hope I can get it on here....not being tech savvy 'n' all...sure he'll help me though

Hi

I live right in the south east corner of the UK and I saw a pretty large and bright meteorite, is it too optimistic that it was the one in question

Could I have seen a break away part or a tail ...

About half the sky was clouded over, I live by the sea so there wasn't much obstruction

Never seen that site before, cool

I often hear VERY large planes go overhead, they sound suspiciously too large, now I know where to check them out

Yes, very much so. Dalbeattie is like 100 miles north west of Liverpool.

Saw the very same over Bodmin, Cornwall Monday just gone. Others in the town also reported seeing it. Looked like a firework but going horizontal.

Are we prone to these at the moment, did have a search to see if we were passing through anything at the moment??
