When Romney said his wording wasn't "elegant enough", that was the elegant way of saying that he spoke sufficiently clearly that even ordinary people figured out what exactly he meant, and that was a mistake.

In public he would usually use coded 'business language'. The political equivalent of that as used in finance, e.g. "global sourcing" (= fire Americans, hire Indians), "broaden the tax base" (my people pay less, poor people pay more), "incentivize risk-taking" (stuff the company with debt, and start firing people to instill fear), etc.

He is acting exactly like a PE manager doing a hostile takeover. In public, they say vague things which are completely non-binding, and make vague and nice sounding promises to "stakeholders".

In private, to the money men (and these wealthy donors are most certainly the investors in Romney Administration LLC), they explain exactly and clearly what they will do and how to loot it for big payoffs. Because none of the stuff they said before matters once they have ownership rights.

I agree. Modern American conservatives seem to hate just about everybody. They despise the Europeans, especially the French, for their "socialism." They hate Muslims (they're all terrorists bent on the destruction of America). They hate hispanics (they're coming to our country and taking our jobs). They hate the Canadians (they're relatively liberal and have socialized medicine). They hate asians, especially the Chinese (all our jobs are being shipped over there). I mean, no matter who it is, if it isn't another American conservative, if it's anybody who isn't like them in some way and doesn't see things their way, they seem to find a reason to hate them.

You read their posts after news stories and they never even make a point. They just hurl insults, disdain, accusations and distortions. They seem to be sooooo contemptuous of most people on Earth.

And yet, incredibly, they accuse everyone else of "hate." It's incredible they can't see the irony of this.

You are so correct.

Here are just a few videos that show how compassionate the right wing is.

Some of them are such disgusting people.

I am sure the Tea Party is the fox news demographic strange how these videos or ones like it didn't make it to their show.

I challenge anyone to find where Stewart claims to be News or unbiased as opposed to a network who advertises themselves as the fair and balanced network.
Fox has gone out of their way to hide the racist and hateful vitriol of the tea party.

This last video truly describes the Republican Party. I once thought there was no difference in the party’s but this last 4 years I learned the truth.

I used one of your videos Real Spoke.

I watched this last night and it is so true.

Fox is the most hypocritical right wing mouth piece that has ever been broadcasted.

Fox viewers are low information voters.

There are actually people out there that believe that fox is fair and balanced. Their IQ must be astonishingly low.

I am right-wing and I agree with you...Fox IS biased and slanted to the left but lets be clear; CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS and MSNBC basically tore down that wall years ago and made it a free-for-all. Once it reached the point where the plethora of liberal "news" media no longer hid their bias or even tried to hid it, what was the point in Fox trying to hide it?

Make no mistake, Fox is outnumbered 10:1 when it comes to left-leaning, mainstream news sources and they all set the standard long before Fox ever existed. Personally, I believe it just reached the point where it was so blatant on the left that Fox knew they couldn't win unless they played the same, crooked game. In other words, they started playing by the rules set by left-leaning MSM.

I don't watch Fox; I stopped a long time ago. Shortly after Obama was elected. But I sure as hell don't blame them for beating the rest of the media at their own game.

I consider myself to be partly conservative, and i don't hate any of those groups you mentioned. You're doing the same thing that dozens of others do on ATS, stereotyping the conservatives based on what you see on tv. This thread and many others are perfect examples of what is wrong with this country today, we're completely divided and refuse to compromise with different beliefs. I see my views as fiscally conservative and socially liberal. The only way you can get through life is with a balanced and open approach to things, politics included. There is no 100% right on either side, but good luck trying to get people to understand that.

American media has done an excellent job at dividing the public between right and left. They don't tell you the truth, they tell you what you want to hear. They're feeding you lines that are meant to strike emotion inside, to keep you coming back. Eventually you will form your life around those beliefs, whether it's to look cool or stick in with a crowd, it gives people a sense of belonging. I don't see any threads bashing the leftist msnbc. Strange isn't it?

My point is, until you learn to shut the television off, and get out into the real world and see life for what it really is, you will remain blind. United we stand, and divided we fall. It's been in the plans for over fifty years, and it's working wonderfully.

I agree both sides are slanted I just hate that their slogan is Fair and Balanced because people actually believe that. I have a family member that believes it no matter what I have shown her. I wouldn’t be so critical of them if they didn’t perpetrate such a lie.

I love how everyone on ATS is so informed and educated that they feel like they have pin-pointed the views and opinions of the entire conservative group as a whole. It's funny, most of the people who rip on Fox news have never even watched it; all they know about it is what Jon Stewart tells them. Does Fox lean right? Of course it does, but who here is talking about how literally every station BUT Fox news leans left? Nobody. Fox news isn't a poor news station, it is just a news station that disagrees with the snarky whiny leftists laughing at the latest SNL skit ripping on Romney and inflating Obama. Now come on, if you're going to hate on Fox at least be honest with yourselves and realize that every MSM station skews the truth and uses bias anyways.

I thought about posting this, as well. Great job by the Daily Show crew. But I didn't want to have to put up with all of the crap from the more than predictable Romney/Right crowd who feels the need to defend every stupid thing he does or says with the patented "But if Obama is re-elected, this country is finished!" rhetoric. And then you know the lefties have to jump in and defend their man, because he is so righteous, and before you know it the thread has degraded into a pool of idiotic mush populated by so-called MENSA geniuses and "informed" Comedy Central viewers. Seriously, it is like the Democrats do not see that they ARE the Republicans and the Republicans do not see that they ARE the Democrats. I feel embarrassed for them. They all just want someone to blame.

Then there are those who "aren't for either party, man dude", too cool for school of course, but they do such a great job of defending one or the other party they should truly be getting paid. Look in a mirror, for Christ sake! "Well, I'm not a Republican/Democrat, BUT seriously how come no one ever talks about those evil Left/Right wingers?"

Everyone who is dumb enough to be defending one side or the other should watch the video posted on the first page, also from the Daily Show, about half way down. (Sorry poster who contributed it, great job though) It is one of the best, if not the best, I have ever seen on the comedy show. And no one from the Daily Show had to even talk really.
Finger-Pointing Blame Game

You know, Jon Stewart is a comedian with a comedy show. It does not really matter if he has a bias. Fox News gives him and his staff so much material to work with as opposed to other Lamestream media outlets, it is no wonder they are practically the star of the show themselves. We all know that they are all biased, but some do a way better job at hiding it then others.

"Make sure it is nice and easy and simple, Mr. Limbaugh! Make sure I can get it, Mr. Stewart. I don't like feeling stupid.
I wanna be informed!" Everyone needs to stop getting their information from another source, turn off your TV and pick up a book and do the research yourself.

And while they were all arguing about who was more hypocritical and awful and which side was better, none of them had realized the end had already came and it was far too late... See you in March, folks. No matter who wins this popularity contest.. I mean Presidential election.. the end is nigh.

Correctomondo..............Our votes are worth nothing. The person that gets in would not make an ounce of difference no matter their political persuasion even if the voting system was not a rigged illusion.
All the leaders are groomed to fill the position that the masses think they had the privilege to put in there. But in reality leadership is on lockdown for the Elites.

Not necessarily an IQ test per se. But a test that evaluates one's critical knowledge of economy, geopolitics, history and what it takes to run a country in general.

That is to say, we test people before we allow them to drive a car. So, why does casting a vote that can decide the future direction of a country and the lives of millions not require even a squirt of piss worth of prerequisite knowledge to be qualified for?

The pure and simple fact of the matter is that a critical thinker's vote is worth more than some abject idiot's who is swayed by slogans and buzz words. Yet, it carries no more value. Herein lies the inherent Achilles heal in the democratic system--a flaw that has hamstrung the potential for good governance for time immemorial.

When I hear someone say something like this, IMO all they are really saying is everyone should be tested to make sure they have the same ideology as the person proposing the test.

Epic?

A loser like Jon Stewart talks crap about things that are not very interesting or real, then low brow and the crew come and say how EPIC it was, like the best thing that ever happened in their lives.

Then you sit back and wonder whats wrong with your country?

Your all joking, making jokes about other jokes, that's whats wrong.

That is what is wrong with your US of A. All irrelevant.

Oh BTW, just saying.

I know your bagging on this guy for being hateful, but calling every republican hateful is the same mentality in way. Republicans paint all Dems as bleeding hearts, and Democrats paint the repubs as hateful bigots.

This is what they want, division. Lets come together and celebrate our similiarities and differences. If this PvtHudson is being hateful, address the hate if you must, but leave the other 100 million or so people out of it. I am not republican, but on the same note, I am not a democrat. I will not let the political machine define my beliefs. Not saying Im above that , just havnt found a party that speaks for me and my ideals. and even if I found a party that spoke for me, I don't know if the machine would count my vote or not.
