First off, you are making the same mistake modern fundamentalist Christianity makes when cherry-picking Bible verses to prove something.
When Jesus spoke he spoke plainly. He used parables for those who couldn't understand his literal meaning, but especially to the disciples he spoke plainly and explicitly.
You have to take a verse in context, and plainly, before you try to assert a "meaning". Let's look at some of the surrounding context:

There are two problems that have come about in regards to people learning about secret societies. One, the religion followers who have believed magic to be some monstrous practice and to be avoided at all costs, and that the secret societies symbolism and texts (at least many of them), and religious texts were not meant to be taken as literal or as written. They were meant to be read allegorically, as having hidden or underlying meanings.
For instance, in the Beginning was the Word (Judeo-Christianity). This was also more or less said in Ancient Egypt, in the mythologies of the God Ptah, who was said to have thought and spoke the Universe and Humanity into Existence. This is an allegory for Vibrations, which is one of the Universal Forces. This has been spoken of in the Research of peoples such as Nikola Tesla, Dr. Masaru Emoto, Hans Jenny, and in the Science of Cymatics. This has been allegorically depicted in religious stories and statements such as the above, and in traditions such as with the code-word Air.
Every Religion, Secret Society, Tradition, etc. (at least the original ones) had a common teaching underlying the different appearances. This has been called the hidden doctrine or secret doctrine.
Getting back to the problems. The Judeo-Christianity followers who have taken their teachings as literal or as written in things such as Inquisitions have destroyed much of the original teachings. And because people have taken their religions as literal or as written, their have been misguided fools who have partaken in sacrifices, and many other inane and insane practices.
All of the symbolism, stories, myths, fables, etc. have an underlying doctrine that is ever the same, but has been misinterpreted time and again. Which Science is now realizing and discovering under the names of sciences such as physics (more or less) and Cymatics.

elite (n.)
1823, from French élite "selection, choice," from Old French eslite (12c.), fem. past participle of elire, elisre "pick out, choose," from Latin eligere "choose" (see election). Borrowed in Middle English as "chosen person" (late 14c.), especially a bishop-elect; died out mid-15c.; re-introduced by Byron's "Don Juan." As an adjective by 1852. As a typeface, first recorded 1920. source
