Syrian Rebels Claim to Take Over Chemical Weapons

Why would the rebels declare openly that they have captured Chemical weapons if they were planning to use them in some sort of secret False Flag operation to provoke the West into direct confrontation?

That's the main question that makes me believe they wouldn't.

It would be much easier to replicate a Syrian missile, with a Syrian payload and simulate an attack - a true false flag operation - than to give that job to the FSA, who by all accounts, aren't famous for keeping secrets or being soft in their actions.

Not only that, but they would leave fingerprints (not literally) on the missiles used in such operation, which could make the attempt backfire.

The more I read these types of scenarios the more I question who is putting out this Bull and why? One could argue that Assad and his supporters are grasping at straws here.

Going back to the question of "why?", the FSA could be praising this to push their own agenda. International debate has been highlighting the importance of securing those weapons, fearing a possible attack in which they would be deployed.

The FSA getting them under control could be a high-card to be played to gain international credibility. Not that they need it much, because France has already stated they will support and recognize a new government if the rebels decide to form it...

But they might want to play the role of heroes.

That, or those special forces from the UK and other nations are already working with local rebel groups against Assad's plans.

I guess only time will tell.....

And let's not forget, that it appears the missiles were empty, or at least aimed at alternative warheads.

If they were empty, that means the warheads are still missing. Almost like a James Bond movie. lol

This seems to me like a strtaight up CYA (Cover You @ss) move by the "Syrian Supreme Council" so that when the Syrian gov't gases their citizens they can say "we told you guys the rebels took the weapons". Whatever.

Didn't Netanyahu say he was going to attack Iran before the US election? I still think Russia and China have more of a stake in having Syria as a economic pass-through, and are going to let those "crazy muslims" kill themselves off as much as possible, before rumbling in and taking over. That includes Iran.

We haven't heard much about Pakistan lately. I bet they aren't anymore stable than they have ever been and I believe the Chinese are working there.

Dude this isn't about Ron Paul it's about Syria. You guys act like he's some kind of a super hero.

Well whatever the case may be, I just hope those people know how to handle Blister and V Nerve agent, You don't want to be around went a canister breaks or goes off trying to load one on a warhead and judging from the article, it looks like the chemical weapons are not pre-loaded on to them. Alot of those people are not educated on handling those dangerous chemicals, when to safeguard an decon when needed....
