lol yeah it is a dragon. There is actually lots of mythical creatures in the show, it's just mostly ponies and unicorns cuz it takes place in..... Ponyville, Equestria

Spike is supposed to be a dragon from what I can gather. I have not seen the show, but I do plan on it with all of this hype going on.

I have yet to see this cartoon, but if youre going to demonize a cartoon for the minority of pervs that watch it (every fan base has them), then ALL cartoons should be chastised.

It's not really my bag so far. I will say that if the weather modification weirdos around here get to 11 minutes in they will have a collective poop fest. The one with the rainbow tattoo on it's ass is modifying the weather! The horror. Still feel pretty straight. Still feel pretty conservative.

The right wing for example, there's a particular camp that make fun of anti-fluoridationists, they are harming themselves by not looking at the studies.

That camp usually idolize vaccines, but they should know that a study published this year show perfluorinated chemical compounds reduce immune response to vaccines and has poorer antibody performance in those with high perfluorinated chemicals in blood.

It's actually more right wing when you think about it. Studies have been done that the children who were the biggest tattle tales , grew up to be conservative. Children who are smothered and breastfed way long after they should be like three, grow up to be conservative. So, this is fascinating to watch. I am just shocked i stumbled across this right now. I can add it to other things. It also explains the guns. They think they are toys and they don't want Mommie "The Government" to take them away. It's all coming together now. I will keep reading. This is fascinating.

It probably is. The problem I have with this board is that 'American politics/practically everything =/= the rest of the world'. To me, America's idea of a 'left wing' is still fairly hard right and fairly meaningless in the sense that most understand it elsewhere in the world.

I remember in the run-up to the American elections and the talk about Obama's supposed 'socialism', and getting angry about how the term was being 'redefined' through an American lens and then projected as the 'real' definition of 'socialism'. I gave up caring and getting angry about specifics of American politics at that point, despite it impacting the rest of the world, whether the world likes it or not (like someone taking a # in a public swimming pool).

I agree with your take on the guns, though. I used to post a lot about American gun culture as, to me and a lot of people around the world, it's unfathomable. I think the 'right to bear arms' is a massive scam and pointless and I used to get MASSIVE amounts of criticism. I'd not posted on here in quite a while (knowing there would be much bollocks written about the Olympics drew me back) and I was surprised to see more people echoing my thoughts on gun ownership than in previous years.

Anyway, enough about guns. Them ponies? It's all about the price tag.

I am just observing and noting. I have just as much right to express how I feel about this weirdness as those engaging in it and defending it.

Hi everypony,

I just wanted to stop in to let you all know that my kids watch the show. There's nothing wrong with it at all and in actual fact the subject matter of every episode I've seen is of a positive nature. Not only that, the art style is pleasing to the eye and it's beautifully animated. I have no problems with understanding why my son likes it and I have absolutely no fears at all that it will feminize him in any way.

From what I've seen, the show is all about the importance of friendship, sharing and working together. Not exactly a bad message to send small children. I'm really struggling to understand why someponies have an issue with this.

Please understand, my freak out is not about age appropriate males watching this. Although, I can see how the Prince/Princess thing with the rainbow coming from it might cause some confusion in the minds of boys......

I am freaked out about grown men watching this show like it's the thing to do. It's explaining a lot about grown men these days. They aren't feminine. They're children.

EDIT to add: I don't see how the rainbow can send confusing signals to young boys. When I was a boy a rainbow was nothing more than a rainbow. A beautiifull sight to see and nothing more. It's only in recent years that it has been associated with homosexuality, but even then it's only an association that adults make. To a child, a rainbow is a rainbow. It's not a symbol of anything to them. I think you're being paranoid. I really do.
