You know,it pretty much sounds like alot of dads.
Mysterious, they don't say much about it,odd phone calls and such.

My dad never really talked to me about his life and job.
I had no idea what he did for a living till I got out of college and got into his field of work.
Then,I understood.
But,I'm different because I talk to my kids and share my experiences and knowledge with them.
They know why I have to leave in the middle of the night.
Work calls.

All I read was the first page, but I can already tell that your dad was delivering something other than bread. My guess is white powder. I've known a few people who did this, and the routine sounds familiar. The bread truck was only to disguise him from civilians, because the authorities knew exactly what he was doing. It was their powder...

I thought about that. But we certainly did not have that much money though. We were pretty much middle class all the way. Also I was kind of young at the time but I do not think these were high drug areas. But who knows. But again he only drove the bred truck before I was born. At least before a time where I can remember him doing it.

I'm only speculating my friend. Don't be offended. People that I know who did this didn't make a lot of money either. They flew to foreign countries with marked baggage; never had to go through customs, and had others who flew with them, but not obviously. Once at the airport in the foreign country, the bags would be swapped and he would catch the next flight back (presumably with cash; he was not allowed to check the bags). He's dead now, but I know of others as well.

They have businesses where they transport their own goods. The goods are spiked as it were, and they have front and rear escorts to make sure they don't do anything stupid...
I have no idea what kind of money these people make, but they are big in the Church. Imagine that...

Sounds more like a criminal than a spy to me.....

Different currencies and going around from country to country.....

Bread truck drivers don't make that much money.........

Sounds more like he travels to set up the illegal importing of drugs.....

If everyone knew him in the area, then that's also a sign......

But I am sure that if you were that bothered to find out more about your dad, it doesn't sound as if it would be very hard to find out more going by what you have already told us......

If your father were a criminal, which you may never know; don't think too harshly of him. Many are coerced into these things, and truly have no choice.

If he was a spy, you'll probably never find proof of it either. I do think that his remark was probably a confession one way or another. It is an interesting story nonetheless.

The only operative I ever knew of copied morse code for a living. It was a very boring life according to him...

Sure you want to travel down that rabbit hole?

No I am not at this point in time. I have my own rabbit hole I jumped into already so to speak... I am still trying to deal with the aftermath of that.

I guess I am jumping into a few rabbit holes at the same time... At least my wife is here to keep me sane... And to keep me from jumping in too deep. Well she tries. But then again she also encourages me to jump.. WOMEN.... They are so confusing sometimes.

OK... Where shall I continue???

We are not so confusing, I was with my man all the way from the beginning until the end, yes in the middle pops out different things but yet doesn't mean we are confusing or all of the place!

I apologize for the confusion as to the timeline of events. My dad has always seemed to be connected. I don't know if it is related but I have always had my own connections (at least until I cut those connections)... When I was four (which makes me think I might have been three when the post office incident occurred) I had my picture taken with the local swat team I was wearing a helmet and carrying a m16...

Ok My dad drove a bread truck from (this is a guess because I wasn't born) 1972-74 approximately. I have no idea which company. Then he managed/owned a convenience store for a couple years (76-82???) Then times were a little tough. We lost our house. We moved a lot... Then he began working for the company. Then things got better again.

Your time kind of correlates to mine.
The 70's were tough.
My dad quit is job to become a farmer,go figure.
The 80's were prosperous, cause that is when I entered the work force during a boom in construction.

Just wanted to add about "The paper company" that your dad worked for could be the same setup that Mr Bennett from the series Heroes had. He was an "Agency"worker and "The paper company" he worked for was a cover for an alphabet agency.
Just wanted to throw that in there as it was the 1st thing that came to mind when you mentioned that your dad worked for a paper company.

Your dad was a member of the Mafia. Gambino or Genovese crime family. Or he was just that...a paper making bread driver.

I have a P.O. Box and a regular mailing address,But I don't think im a spy and I have had a run in with the law once. I would say your dad was messing with you just to have a little fun. Then again you never know,do you have any way of looking into your dads old paper work like pay stubs or delivery papers. Over a period of time from the age 5 til now the mind sometimes will add more or less to things that happen.
