Paul Ryan? VERY GOOD choice.
(although I think this means Romney will not win in Florida).

Ryan is smart. Ryan is capable. Ryan is experienced. Ryan isn't old and tired.
Ryan is all those things ... Obama, Biden and Romney aren't. He'll outshine them all.

It was a smart choice to go with.

Is it just me, or is it kind of odd that Romney is picking a VP and he doesn't even have the nomination locked up yet. Seems so weird that he is just going ahead with this like business as usual when there is another Republican still in the race.

It's kinda like, move along, nothing to see here. The GOP is acting like there isn't another dog in this race. Completely ignoring Ron Paul, his delegates, and his campaign for presidency. I'm sure many Ron Paul supporters won't take kindly to this.

Sadly Beez I don't think any ticket, even a Ron Paul one, will fix it. Right now the culture in Congress is to "get it". By that I mean, get all you can. Hand outs, corporate and individual. I mean really, does anyone on either side of the aisle think Senator Reid has the State of Nevada in its best interest? It is about power and keeping that power.

It won't be easy, it won't be popular. It won't be pleseant. But growing up and breaking away from the government nipple isn't supposed to be nice.

That is the rational you coming out. Washington is far from it. Cynical I know, but it is reality. Until good people with solid character start to occupy positions of representation, the cycle will continue.

...scrap the Constitution and give up on this great experiment of ours

Most of it has already been effectively and with subtle approval, sidestepped by the American people. Citizens bemoan and clamor about it all the time, but come election day they send the same cronies back to the Hill with the mentality that it isn't their representative that is gutting them. Sadly, the culture of politics is always dirty but ours is beyond that.

Ideally, I'd like to see solutions. But I would settle for a move, any move in the right direction. I'm not at the point where I'm ready to throw in the towel.

Yet.

The difficult part will be convincing the american "entitlement-mindset" that they need to stop relying on government to be their safety net.

Our original form of government was not designed to be a socialist nanny-state. Now that it is, we need to either break away from the mindset pervasive in our society

or

scrap the Constitution and give up on this great experiment of ours.

Romney / Ryan are heading to the White House for the Republicans.

It's a done deal.

----------------

The American people are not going to re-elect a loser who hands them a GDP of 1.5%.

----------------

President Mitt Romney is going to have to do some financial gymnastics to contend with

our $16 Trillion National Debt.

Romney / Ryan will win Florida. -- Sky high unemployment rate -

Price of gas going higher.

GDP Growth 1.5% and slowing.

James Carville was right. It's the economy stupid.

For some odd reason, people aren't looking at the fact that Obama's unemployment rate has been really, really high this whole time .. and they are ignoring gas prices. They ignore Fast and Furiouis .. which is worse than Watergate. They ignore all the lies he's been caught in. etc etc It's bizzare. The polls out of Florida have Obama ahead. Real Clear Politics

Words of wisdom: Real Clear Politics = All Polls

Most of the polls have shamelessly stacked their polls with democrats.

---------------
Go to Rasmussen for a clear picture of what is going on.

I have seen a lot of elections in the past. During the last 3 days you will see the other

polls mysteriously move their numbers closer to the Rasmussen numbers.

They do that for 1 reason: credibility

This is also a great Electoral Tracker: USA Today

- USA Today - I see Romney with 285 Electoral Votes

Maybe people have realized that unemployment rates and gas prices are not the only reason to vote for a candidate. Fast and Furious has turned out to be more of a rhetorical landmine for the Republicans and does not have any teeth with the regular Joes.

Add all that to the fact that Romney has not given us a reason to vote for him, since he has not shown how he would take care of ANY of the current problems, and you have a big potential for failure come November.

Obama has not given any reason to re-elect him for a 2nd term.

Obama runs from his own record and simply attacks Romney with negative ads.

Chris Matthews also wants to know - how - Obama will fix anything.

Paul Ryan is an excellent choice. Like Flyers Fan said he is brilliant, young and has a solid plan to turn this economy around. This team will focus on just that. Ryan's economic bill passed in the House but was defeated
in the Senate. He is an economics major, just what we want and need to get this country back on track.

Their campaign will focus on our economy, creating jobs, lowering unemployment, tax cuts and lowering the deficit.

People are sick and tired of the tit for tat politics we have been seeing and want someone to focus on the issues at hand. Ryan is fresh with good ideas and knows how to implement those ideas to bring about a different course for America.

The Dems will continue with a negative campaign because they have nothing positive to offer. I really think the people have had enough of the rhetoric from both sides. Excited to see what kind of energy Ryan will inject into this race.

Ryan is NOT a 'smart' individual, at least not in the academic sense. Well spoken and politically savvy in certain situations, yes, but his understanding of economics is on par with many 2nd or 3rd year undergrads. This isn't all that surprising given his education consists only of a Bachelor's from a midtier university. You can't 'street smarts' your way into deep economic theory, regardless of how 'brilliant' you might be. Ryan is not brilliant or even intellectually curious, so listening to him on economic matters is problemmatic at best. Even qualified people who would normally agree with his general type of economic philosophy think his math is garbage.

The latest ad called Mitt Romney a murderer.

Where do they go from there?

Democrat Lanny Davis said Obama should repudiate the ad.

Everybody knows the Paul Ryan is 10 times smarter than Joe Biden.

During the VP debate Joe Biden will be forced to just yell like a nut and just

stall for time. -- is the debate over yet ??? --
