Just watch this thread, those lefties can't help but out themselves.

That didn't take long did it

Does using a word like 'leftie' to disparage your political opponents contribute in any way to a healthy and constructive political discussion on ATS? You're part of the problem.

I think perhaps the primary problem that exists today in the battle between collectivism and individualism is that individualists don't generally run for public office, nor do the regularly engage in propaganda for some individualist type movement as such a notion would be antithetical to the principles of individualism.

The individualist will see through collectivist propaganda and indoctrination. They are not the ones who easily fall prey to collectivist indoctrination. Individualists are not known as followers. Followers look for a leader to follow and Obama foots the bill for many followers. Individuals tend to build businesses and enterprise, followers tend to work for those individuals. There are more followers than there are leaders in this regard. The collectivist leader understands it is a numbers game. This is why "democracy" is so admired and vaunted in American politics, it is a tool for collectivists and they want their followers to believe that their numbers can justify any action at any time as long as the "majority" is in agreement on the action and time.

WOW....JPZ, that was very well said. I couldn't agree more, probably one of the most intelligent posts i've ever read.

Taking a look at your posts in this thread do you really intend to use that as an argument?

Claim ignorance if you wish, but you know as well as I do that the term 'leftie' has obvious negative connotations.

Well, Obama never said that there would be "positive" change that we could believe in. He always said "change" that you can believe in. If anyone thought negative change...they were not disappointed. This is how these liars work. Tell you everything you want to hear and lead by omission of imperative key words. One should always look for these omissions as all politicians are liars and they always have proven to be. The more charismatic they are...the more you should worry.

It’s hard to think of a president that has been more of an Epic Failure than President Obama. Even Carter is glad this guy came along, so at least he knows he is no longer the worst president ever. Here is just a short list of Obama’s Failures:
Hawaii is in Asia
Passing on the keystone pipeline.
Touts a Green Energy Company as exemplary that fails a year later.
Using the Gulf Oil Spill to promote Green Energy – instead of cleaning it up.
Thinking the Tea Party is a passing fad – or that they are racists.
Pulling out of Iraq with no clear victory over insurgent forces.
Trying to re-write history through speeches – with inaccurate information (i.e. Statue of Liberty)
Getting a Nobel Prize for being the most ineffective President in the history of the United States, though some say it was for his pigment.
Putting all legislation on the Internet for five days before it comes to a vote.
Returning the bust of Churchill to the Brits.
Giving a collection of DVDs to the British PM.
Denying the notion of American Exceptionalism.
Promising to close Gitmo — failing to do so.
Securing the Olympics for Chicago in 2016.
Naming numerous Communists/Socialists/Progressives to his various Czar positions and then watching them scurry for cover when Beck begins to call them out, forcing them to resign.
Government races for NJ, VA and the Senate Seat in Mass.
The midterm elections, which Obama himself called a shellacking.
Prediction that stimulus would ensure that unemployment doesn’t exceed 8%.
Bowing to just about everybody.
Proposing amnesty for illegal aliens to increase the population of voters for Democrat elections.
He said, I have visited 57 states. Now there is just 1 left to visit.
Obama to Medvedev…give me space I will have more flexibility after my election.
Using the Executive order to hide vital fast and furious documents
When selling a book he claims he was born in Kenya (proven in print)
Owner of a Social Security number from a state he was not born in,
A Questionable Hawaiian birth certificate, recently proven a forgery.
This man is not who he says he is !

You are declaring the President Of The United States as your enemy???

Quite foolish words in a world filled with crazies.

What's foolish is the people that allow one group or person to control their life and political ideologies telling them what's good and bad for them, the blind leading the blind with no questions asked. I've read many of your post and I have to ask..Is there anything that Obama does that you don't agree with? I get the indication that If Obama told you to go jump off a high bridge that you would be the first in line yelling "is this high enough?".

Well, that's only because either you don't have too many to compare to...or that it isn't time to meet the next one yet...we've still got 4 to 5 years of more failure to be established before we can bring in the next virgin scheduled to marry Joe's volcano.

And we must logically expect that the NEXT one will be even more of an Epic Failure than this one simply because it is expected that he or she will exceed all previous failure.

Or at least that's the way most everyone thinks, apparently…around here, anyways.

Even Carter is glad this guy came along, so at least he knows he is no longer the worst president ever.

I'm just curious....you don't have to inform me...but I'm just speculating...that Carter is about as far back as your conscious awareness of the presidency goes back to? I'm thinking you were born mid-80's?

And if not that, and you are aged and learned, then what, exactly, in your opinion, makes Jimmy Carter worthy of being declared the absolute worst out of a total of 44 choices?

I must ask...how do YOU define failure? And success?
What would constitute presidential success, in your opinion?

Here is just a short list of Obama’s Failures:

Hawaii is in Asia

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't...how is that Obama's failure? Maybe talk to GOD about that one? I'm thinking that we need to fry fish that are a bit bigger than this? Maybe? HAWAII 1 ASIA 1

Passing on the keystone pipeline.

You mean refusing to be forced into something he wasn't sure about? That was a success in my opinion...it is about time the man in the oval office had some balls and actually considered his position one of true accountability...considering the Ogallala aquifer, the nature of crude oil and the notorious short-sightedness of the oil industry in regard to UNFORESEEN accidents, I say OBAMA 1 - CONGRESSIONAL BULLIES/BIG MONEY OIL 0

Touts a Green Energy Company as exemplary that fails a year later.

And how is that Obama's failure, as well? Was it his company? Did he cause it to fail? Was it exemplary when he said that? Is he able to read the future/does he have a crystal ball or a gypsy on retainer next door to his office? The corporate world is not what she used to be...and that's not Obama's failure, either, since he is pretty much not involved in the corporate realm like most all his predecessors...PROFESSOR PRESIDENT 1 CORPORATE WEALTH PRESIDENTS 0

Using the Gulf Oil Spill to promote Green Energy – instead of cleaning it up.

Why should we clean that crap up? We didn't cause it...we were not informed of what they were actually doing...we did not have any input whatsoever on those fateful decisions...why should our President make us foot the bill for our own victimization/exploitation? Besides that...it is not simply a matter of clean-up...there is no cleaning of crude oil...only prevention of it invading and poisoning the parts of the ecosystem it is not meant to interact with. MOTHER NATURE 0 HUMANITY 0

Thinking the Tea Party is a passing fad – or that they are racists.

So now opinions are worthy of being called 'failures?' Is that only for the President or do we all enjoy the same privilege? What do YOU think about the tea party? What are they up to these days, anyway?
TEA PARTY 0 BOSTON TEA PARTY 100 RACISTS N/A

Pulling out of Iraq with no clear victory over insurgent forces.

Wasn't that the only answer? There is no victory over insurgent forces we have had a great part in stirring up any more than there is such a thing as cleaning up a crude oil spill.

Trying to re-write history through speeches – with inaccurate information (i.e. Statue of Liberty)

Well, maybe he should do what Churchill did and just write a book to suit his ideas of history...letting us know, beforehand, of course, of his intentions. Then we could also mark through your next item on this list...Churchill got it fair and square so Obama should do what Winston did...right? Because Hitler knew it beforehand....history is written by the victors, not the losers.

Getting a Nobel Prize for being the most ineffective President in the history of the United States, though some say it was for his pigment.

Well, that isn't his failure, either...the Nobel peace prize is not self-elective. As far as his pigment...does he not get his coloring from melatonin just like the rest of us? Maybe it is the reason every winner has received it! Who's to say when being that general? Because if it isn't perceived in a general light, it appears to be a very racist comment. Did the teaparty people say that? They don't have any say so in who receives it, either. Those that do...said the following:

President Obama said Friday that he was "surprised and deeply humbled" by the decision of the Norwegian Nobel Committee to award him the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.

The committee said it honored Obama for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."

Obama said he viewed the decision less as a recognition of his own accomplishments and more as "a call to action."

The decision appeared to catch most observers by surprise. Nominations for the prize had to be postmarked by February 1, only 12 days after Obama took office. The committee sent out its solicitation for nominations last September, two months before Obama was elected president.

Obama had not been mentioned as among front-runners for the prize, and the roomful of reporters gasped when Thorbjorn Jagland, chairman of the Nobel committee, announced that the president was the winner.

The Nobel committee recognized Obama's efforts at dialogue to solve complex global problems, including working toward a world free of nuclear weapons.

"Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future," the committee said.

Jagland said the decision was "unanimous" and came with ease.

I think they must believe that which you call failure to be merely steps toward inevitable success...no wonder they are the folks that get to hand out that award. Evidently it is about peace! Imagine that!

Putting all legislation on the Internet for five days before it comes to a vote.

This one mystifies me...how is this a failure? I'm not sure what you mean but it seems like a pretty good idea to me although I'm thinking it wasn't something he came up with on his own...I'd have to investigate. But isn't TRANSPARENCY in our government's hagglings and such a GOOD THING?

Pepsi and ring-dings might have been a better choice? And maybe we should factor in commonwealths such as Guam et al...did you ever investigate THAT?

Obama to Medvedev…give me space I will have more flexibility after my election.

How is that a failure? Because he repeatedly refuses to be rushed into things?... or to make decisions according to the wishes of others but that for which he is the one officially accountable? When selling a book he claims he was born in Kenya (proven in print)

Well, he was, wasn't he? I don't think he can be held responsible for where his mother was when it was time for him to come out into the cold cruel world. Not so much a failure on his part than it is a possible hint that we need to re-examine our priorities in these issues...he's way more American than someone like Mittens could ever be...and by that I mean being on the side of the American people...you obviously don't see it that way but that could be, again, an issue of priorities...as well as perhaps how many miles you've got on your odometer...more writing than reading most of the time, too, perhaps? Research and self-education is a good thing...never leading to failure as far as I've ever known.
IGNORANCE 0 INVESTIGATION PRICELESS

Owner of a Social Security number from a state he was not born in,

Well, you've more or less answered a couple of question I asked at the first...I'm guessing you were most likely born after 1986? Or thereabouts?
Because I was born in 1968 in Arizona but got my social security card at the ripe old age of 13 or 14 when it was time to start thinking about after school employment...it was kind of a rite of passage for us back then...next came the MVD event and driving...but first...a SS card! I got mine in New Mexico since we had moved there from Arizona when I was 2 or 3...and so my social security number is from a state I was not born in.
*gasp*
However, that does not make me or Obama a failure...but rather suggests that you do not do as much homework as you probably should...but I wouldn't go so far as listing that in your 'failure' column...I prefer a column called ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT.
You might be surprised to learn that SS numbers were not always issued automatically at birth...we used to get smallpox vaccines, too...all this info is readily available to everyone who wants to investigate into these issues surrouding the president's alleged propensity for abject failure.

A Questionable Hawaiian birth certificate, recently proven a forgery.
This man is not who he says he is !

Who does he say he is? How did he ever get that forgery passed those eagle-eyed public servants down at the social security administration? Because they are GOOD and I'm not just saying that...these people were good back when I was 13...it was kind of stressful for me because I felt like I was going to be found out...for what, I don't know...but if I needed to be found out, that lady was the one to find me out!
You know...the fact that he DOES have a social security number pretty much renders the birth certificate argument null and void and I don't know how you define proven...unless you can provide some of that proof...no one else has, so far, either. I imaging that is Obama's failure, too. And I think that it is pretty much consensus that he is, indeed, Barack Obama, chief executive officer of the United States of America. He doesn't tend to talk too much about himself so anything other than that is speculation. I'm thinking OBAMA 1 SELF-IMPORTANT EGO 0!
Oh, and you ought to see my dad's NJ birth certificate...issued in 1919...if there ever was a shady vital document, that's the one! And mine is actually even worse...albeit not a big shady at all!...but it is an outright falsification...a literal intentional LIE...and technically a FORGERY committed by civil service employees who are sworn to honesty...when you consider that I was adopted by the people listed in the boxes of who gave birth to me...my mother could not have possibly given me physical birth at that time and yet...there it is, all official and stuff...no wonder I was so paranoid at the SSA that day!

LIES LIES and more LIES
* Obama gave primary voters a firm assurance that if he became the nominee of the Democratic party he would (unlike Hillary Clinton) abide by the campaign finance limits of public funding; but as soon as he became the party’s nominee, he reneged on that pledge.
* During the presidential campaign Obama criticized the presence of former lobbyists in the Bush administration and solemnly assured us that he would appoint no lobbyists to his administration; but once elected he proceeded to appoint even more lobbyists than his predecessors.
* Obama criticized the size of George Bush’s deficit and promised to stop deficit spending if elected; but he has already quadrupled the size of the deficit he objected to and recklessly continues new federal spending in the trillions.
Only a little digging, and you find more Obama lies. Of the felony variety. From the Chicago Sun-Times on June 14, 2007:
On June 13, the Chicago Sun-Times reported that Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), while serving as an Illinois state senator in 1998, "did a political favor" for Chicago Democratic fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko by writing letters to state and local government officials in support of a Chicago housing project proposed by Rezko’s company, New Kenwood LLC. The Sun-Times asserted that the "letters appear to contradict a statement last December from Obama, who told the Chicago Tribunethat, in all the years he’s known Rezko, ‘I’ve never done any favors for him.’ ”
President Obama evidently believes that he can solve any problem with a speech. But he really does not care whether what he says is true or not, nor does he feel any responsibility to honor the assurances and promises he makes. As a result, this nation is now in a position where it cannot believe a word that he says, and that amounts to an unprecedented crisis of confidence in the Presidency. Democratic government will atrophy if we allow lying on this scale to count as the business as usual of politics. When will the press and the Congress hold him accountable?

Fortunately his days are numbered.. and if you can't see his lies, you are a blind follower in total denial !
By the way SEMPER FI !!!!!

A good idea...and when the oval office changes as far as occupancy, the thread doesn't have to end...maybe just the title changed or maybe just a generic appellation such as Mr. President could be used throughout.

Because that's all I see changing over the years in these bash-the-current-president threads at ATS...only the names change but the details are always the same. Monotonously unchanging details. I will say I am somewhat surprised, though, that the previously prevalent attitude of IMPEACH the current president (for the crime of being human, as far as I can tell) has not extended into the Obama-haters this go around.

Of course, that might simply be an indication that people are actually educating themselves in regard to IMPEACHMENT and what is designed to do and how it works...

...nah...that can't be it.

I appreciate your very civil response. Talking politics on an Internet forum can get really ugly sometimes.

I guess I just don't really understand why so many people seem to be throwing up their hands and saying "oh we'll. We live in a global economy so your job will eventually leave. Deal with it." Shouldn't we be coming up with ways (other than to let multi-national corporations pollute our air and water and steal our wealth) to get our economic engine running again?!

No problem. It's more effective to actually discuss the topic instead of shouting at each other about our political disagreements.

How would you propose we get the economic engine running when the U.S. is rated at the bottom of the list as far as science and mathematics goes? I discuss that in this thread: America Going Stupid The article has since been deleted, but here's a new link: Few Students Show Proficiency in Science, Tests Show American children are getting dumber by the minute, so how could we expect them to do anything smart, innovative and revolutionary to get this economy going anytime soon? It certainly isn't a lack of funding, because other countries spend half as much on their schools, yet excel in all subjects far above American school children. I've had the privilege of attending school both abroad in two different countries as well as in the U.S. I saw and experienced the difference, and believe me,.... it's a huge difference.

As with everything in life, we have choices we need to make. Do we want a clean environment or do we want jobs? The jobless will complain that we care more about some fish or insect than we do about them and their families. The environmentalists will complain that we are destroying the environment and causing the extinction of unique species. The business-minded individuals will complain that we're putting limits on what could be prime property and housing.

There has to be a balance, but until the entire world is on board and shares the same ideals, you're either going to have a clean environment with a lack of jobs, a dirty environment with plenty of jobs, or something down the middle somewhere else. Are you willing to put up with higher cost of living? A polluted river? Lack of job security? We want it all, but technologically and culturally speaking we have not yet reached that point which would allow us to have it all. Socialism doesn't work, capitalism has turned into corporatism, so what's next?

The only way to turn all this around is to

A.) Give higher-standard education and hold each and every student to that standard. Teach them work ethic! Most importantly stop funneling money into teachers unions and hire only the BEST teachers regardless of seniority. The school system in America is seriously flawed and broken.
B.) Give more funding to science and research (through private or public funds)
C.) Teach future generations respect and tolerance for each other and for their environment (something Obama is clearly working against whenever he tries to instigate an argument between social and racial groups by favoring one over the other)
D.) Root out corruption and punish equally the poor and rich for breaking laws - NO EXCEPTIONS! (something this or any of the past administrations haven't been doing...hence the continued animosity between social classes)
E.) Give everyone equal opportunity to succeed and reward them fairly

I guess I could keep going, but as you can see, it will take a few more generations to achieve anything close to perfection. All this should start with the parents teaching their children to excel and with the Government upholding the laws of this land without exception.

P.S. I thought I'd share with you a video about Germany and it's economy, which I find quite accurate from personal experience:

As far as building a business goes, I don't suppose you want to take credit for Apple or Microsoft, do you? Oh right, you pay taxes so you funded their success. I guess the fact that they also pay taxes and have been paying taxes since the day they got their first job doesn't account for the fact that they probably funded a hell of a lot more public projects than you'll ever fund in your lifetime. I think maybe you owe them.

So you are lying about what Obama says than you tell us how indignant you are over what he said.

So, trash this thread to the Blatantly Political bin , marked G.O.P.

If I misquoted, I misquoted. I appreciate that you provided the proper quote, but..... my mind and my point is not changed. Obama's comments were deliberately trying to make everyone feel that Government is the reason anyone is enjoying any success. He wants to raise taxes and his reasoning behind that is that businesses are not paying their fair share and that they are shorting us. Taxes are plenty high. The problem is that a lot of his corporate cronies are allowed to slide by with crimes that would put most of us behind bars for a good 10 or 20 years. Problem is that he continues to wage wars overseas when we can't afford it. Problem is he is unwilling to cut spending enough to where it would make any difference in our budget. Problem is he's unwilling to stop borrowing money. He is creating anger between the poor and the wealthy and it's starting to sound a lot like the system my family escaped from in the 80's. They too touted that Government is our savior and responsible for our success. They too turned worker against business owner, and shortly after, they eliminated private ownership and declared those businesses as owned by "the people". It happened slowly and it had a very similar beginning to what's going on right now.

I have no problem giving some credit to the Government, but with comments like these I feel the Government is forgetting where it's power and funding is coming from. It is unacceptable that any politician (Republican or Democrat) should ever try to create division in his/her country.

The products and goods that fill the store shelves and the homes of the German people most likely are predominantly labeled MADE IN GERMANY....a few imports excepted, of course, especially for exotic goods not endemic to Germany but still enjoyed and desired by the people, such as Swiss chocolate, as a guess at an example.

I bet this could be proven true in any country with stable and productive economic systems.

What would you find in the same search in American? What DO you find?

MADE IN CHINA
MADE IN CHINA
MADE IN CHINA

Of course, back in the years right after WWI, the same evidence was a problem, it seemed, for the other powers in Europe...that independence in goods and industry was a big factor in the unfortunate consequences the Germans experienced because of WWII. Jealousy perhaps or just resentment that Germany bounced back from the catastrophic effects of WWI so quickly and without outside help played a much bigger, albeit clandestine, part in the start of WWII than any invasion of Poland or elsewhere or supposed undocumented desire of an alleged megalomaniac.

The roots of all this go quite deep but the deeper they go down, the less bifurcated they become...every root system tapers down into a single tap root.

That's where the solution lies...not in the myriad little roots just visible under the surface.

Which is good...the solution is simple...it just requires a lot of digging and a lack of fear of the dark that rules deep in the place the tap root resides. No one wants to get their nails dirty, I guess...but we don't have shovels anymore...what choice do we have? We can't let the tree die just because we can't see the main root's condition. If we want to make the tree healthy, we have to restore health to the tap root...the rest naturally follows toward the optimum health of the whole tree as well as the whole root system.

And ultimately, the secret to the success of the Germans then and now and any other successful nation is TEAMWORK. The Germans work together as a nation. They don't infringe and their contributions are not invasive to other countries but the benefits are still enjoyed without being perceived as a threat to anyone.

I think that what Obama was trying to convey was that same idea of WORKING TOGETHER...as AMERICANS..,
