Pretty sure it is THIS

Or new advert for Go Compare...

But no.... Let's all believe that TPTB are communicating through our TV's and forewarning us of a coming apocalyptic event.

Seriously.... It's just marketing...

OK it would appear that this is NOT just limited to Go Compare, it is other commercials too on other channels.

Digital Spy

What's ITV? Is it a particular channel? I wonder if it's showing up on other channels as well? If it's just ITV then it could very well be some type of marketing stunt.

ITV is a company that owns a series of channels in the UK, and yes it has been on other company channels not relating to Go Compare at all

Nick Jr., ITV and Sky 1 are all competing channels and not linked by owners so it cannot be a TV event. Although it has been on there 3 channels can some confirm that it actually being shown on different adverts and not just teh Go Compare advert?

My thoughts are it is a marketing strategy, we have had similar in the past and it is just teh same advert being shown on multiple channels

If something was happening they wouldn't tell us

Hopefully he disappears forever from our screens & the adverts too on that date.
Weird advert though, Will have a think about it & keep an eye on this thread.
[Edit--- I think i'm going to go with new advert imo. I maybe wrong.]
Cheers

Indeed...this was something else i thought! They have tailored the add for children as well which is even stranger!!!

But whats with the woman at the end? Why is she so angry?

My son started crying when it came on and told me it was scary! He is 3 so its not the most appealing advert for children of a young age anyways!

I'm not surprised it disturbed your little one, it rocked my inner child a bit too.
I should think it will amass quite a few complaints from pissed off parents.

You guys it's called 'marketing'.

Do you remember those "HeadOn" commercials?

One of the most annoying but effective ad campaigns ever used.

The tv ad counts down to Monday July 2nd. On one of the billboards it says new ads coming in July.

No conspiracy but I bet the guy who created the ad just got a raise.

Also apparently Lloyd is returning to Coronation Street 2nd July, 7:30pm and there will be a fight?

I don't watch any soaps so have no idea who this person is.

So could this be the final end for their friendship? Craig doesn't think so saying; "It’s not the end really no, it’s just the beginning really." You can watch Lloyd's return to Coronation Street on Monday 2nd July from 7.30pm on ITV1. Plus, see Lloyd's return and his public fight with Steve right now in picture previews.

Lloyd is the legendary Craig Charles. He does a good funk and soul show on 6 music. Also in Corrie. Well in and out, as I think he has a few addiction issues.

What the smeg??

I know Craig Charles
Not personally of course.

Maybe that's what this advert is for, his return then?

It's not possible that anything to do will Craig Charles could creep me out like that did.
He went from being my girly crush to winking at me at a Memorabilia at the NEC.

I got all unnecessary..

THIS IS FOR REAL PEOPLE!!! WATCH 0:26 FOR PROOF!!! (of him recording it with his tablet and eating a sandwhich I mean
)

Maybe/probably just a countdown related to their product? I know where I live, not so long ago, there was a commercial where they had a countdown as well, it was for a new kind of cheese
So yeah, I'm not sure :p

Dear God so this is something they do everywhere? We have one like that over here as well, repeat it enough so people either go insane or buy the damn product so the company no longer needs advertising

This one's in Portuguese but it's better quality
(same commercial)

Someone in the advertising industry wants to think about this : Every time I hear that ****ing tune start I turn over to another channel, I would happily slap the person that devised that character / tune, it should be banned!

I'm off to start an e-petition to get it off air!

I guess repeats of (insert children programs like telle tubbies) would turn most adults brains turn to mush, I know mine did when my partners kids came round with the little un, I think I would shoot myself if I saw "in the night garden" ever again.

From that experience my assumption is that most parents brains are so addled they are susceptible to any kind of programming, like buying car insurance..

That's an Insurance company/

Thank god I don't live in GB. That commercial is like seeing Lady Gaga in reality.

But it's just a thing to say they are gonna murder.... I mean get rid of him.

It's quite good actually. It's boring like insurance, it's irritating just like insurance, costs a fortune like insurance, is a con....., and is just as mysterious as insurance. As for the idiot singing, I wish he would self destruct on that day!

The little ones are not home watching themselves now are they? The adults who are home taking care of the kids does need car insurance.
I didnt know you guys got nick jr over there.
At the end of a countdown something usually takes off or blows up. Just sayin ....
