Why does anyone believe the world is ending? Seriously? I have PROOF that the mayans did not predict it ended this year.

They made predictions about dates beyond the long count calendar!

We have well over another 2400 years left before the Mayans stopped making 'predictions.'

I just read this thread and I just can't believe it. Actually I can. It is pathetic really. All you people take a "What If" thread and turn it into an "Its not gonna happen" troll thread all the while not bothering to answer the question. The point is What would you do if....? Get over defending your position and stop trashing peoples threads with off topic posts, PLEASE. Just have some fun for once and entertain the thought. We are all going to die one day, you can't deny that, so answer the question.

To the Op.

To answer your question. I live my life as today may be my last. I enjoy every breath, color, experience with the understanding that they truly are miracles regardless of who or what created it. The experience of life is what it is really all about, not the money, not the mundane, but the experience. Living in fear of death creates a shadow over the bright colors of experience. I live life for life not the advancement of my death. I am not going to give a long list of activities I am going to do because it would take up way too much space. Suffice it to say, I am experiencing what I can in the time I have left, with no regrets of unfinished experiences to hold me back.

I would give away all of my possessions, quit work, and lay by Lake Superior daily. I would watch sunsets and sunrises while enjoying the cheapest beer on the market.

We would quit work, cash in what retirement and stocks my husband has and go on a cruise for the remainder of time left, taking a bunch of credit cards and just maxing them out on anything and everything.
We're modest in spending, we're frugal and don't buy what we don't need very often, so I want to know what it would be like to spend like I didn't have to care anymore, but at the same time, I want to see and experience as much as I can.

I'll request that the boat be exactly where Nibiru will come crashing in so we get a front-row seat.

I don't know if that sounds like a dream or a nightmare.

The end of the world isn't for a long time yet. We'll at least hit Tier 2 before dying off and even then.. We adapt. We survive. We prevail against all odds. Unless our creators from Planet X decide we are no longer of use and kill us off with great natural destruction then.. well.. it's been a good run.

I would make sure to show as much love and care to the few family and friends I have, and ease my mind by planning an escape route, learning how to hot wire a care, and have a backup to-go kit in case I happened to be home if catastrophe struck. But the odds are most people would die. Especially where I live in Vancouver, because we've been expecting "The Big One" for ages since we're near those plates.

Make the best of you time... Have a naked end of the world party. Get drunk and laugh about it on the morning of December 22nd, 2012.
