Yes you are correct, I read Marxs ideas and then when I came upon the Venus project I realized that this is what a future leaderless free communism would look like. That is utopia and I just wanted others to know about the future we can make together if everyone wants it.

I have no problem if this is the way you want to live. I can certainly tolerate the existence of a communist or socialist community if it leaves me alone. But we all know these ideologies cannot exist unless everyone is subjected to them. Is this not true?

Once automations takes all the jobs(partly done already) we will see more awareness and more push for a society I pointed out in the OP. it will just take time. See the poverty and helplessness around you. Once the gas gets more dense a spark will set it off.

What I meant was, what is stopping you from forming your own little communist society? If it works well and you are happy, then others will join of their own accord. I would have no problem with this. Just don't force me to join, that's all.

The beauty of this system is that who does not want to be a part of it can just sit at home and do nothing, eat and sleep, and maybe, Facebook)) I know many will do exactly that. Does not matter automated factories are churning out more than everything we need. Yes you won't get 100s of varieties of mobile phones to choose from but you will get the best of technologies available for free.

We all tend to get what we wish for and those wishing to live under the constant care of the state will eventually get their wish. I hope so anyway, some people simply need the extra care. lol

Yep, I think these kids are going to get it too. The school system tricked them by distorting history and facts and they have become the foot-soldiers towards their own enslavement...no matter how many people who come here to get away from such a system try to talk sense into our fine younger generations, they will not listen, they do not understand, it does not compute, they hiccup and their brain resets. It is sad and it's a big price to pay for not listening to the wisdom of those who know what communism is not just in theory, but applied. We can see that nothing will change their minds, they will have to experience it, and well then you just don't get any take-backs. *shrugs

Nah I couldn't do it I would become a tyrant a despot It would all go to my head and I would end up being a king ruling with an iron fist (with a woolly mitten on).
I think we need a new social structure with the freedoms of capitalism but with the equal rights of (textbook) communism.
But it all comes back to Greed, some people are greedy and will always try to attain more things to have a Utopian communist society we would first have to get rid of greed (not going to happen)

It's not exactly the communism of Karl Marx I am talking about, it's more like The Venus Project, different idea of production but equal idea of distribution in abundance. It has not been done before and I would not like people to confuse them, that's why I made this thread. The Venus Project is the modern communism with technology to help us.

People don't do "anything" "nothing" without incentive for doing it. If you don't agree find someone to paint your house, fix your roof, make your dinner, fix the roads, make your furniture, clean your toilets for free. You need not wait for the Venus project or the second coming for such utopia go out and ask people to do these things for your now, just for the heck of it and see what happens.

Collective living never works for very long, a few weeks at most. Thousands have tried it and have abandoned it. Communism works when there are no freedoms, people are forced to do work they don't want to do and live lives they don't want to live, and can never change it once it comes to power. Nevertheless, people fall for that trap over and over again because it sounds pretty.

I like where you are going with this but...communism/socialism replaces the tyranny of the 1% of douche bags running our present capitalist form of slavery and replaces it with the tyranny of the group and after a while, society is like a stew, if you don't keep it stirred, the scum floats to the top and becomes the elite "Party" members and then there you have it, another 1% of freakin douche bags controling the system and guess what its a master-slave arraingment all over again . Sorry Bro, but I'm not into freakin bondage!

Since there has been recorded time there has been a master- slave division on this planet, examine any of the predominent social systems foisted upon us over history and you will see that this is true. We need to have no government, which is Anarchy.( and that is exactly what Anarchy means, no government.) No slaves, no masters, no bureaucracy, only equals who may freely join together for mutually beneficial goals.

So basically I am anti-douche bag and pro proletariat. And as you "prolly" know, proletariat is us..the working class stiffs that make everything, do everything, produce everything...these 1% a$$holes don't produce sh$t, they steal from us, exploit us, rape the planet, cause all kinds of misery, hardship, heartache, death and destruction and yet hoard all the resources, while millions of their fellow human beings starve and billions live hand to mouth. Yes I know what you are talking about, I said this many times on this thread, that's why we need technology, automated everything. The Venus Project videos explain them better. The machines for automated building installations, road paving, fully automated homes designed by the founder of the project. The technology exists, needs to be implemented. At that point, no work is necessary, only mental work for who ever wants, like inventors, scientists etc.

I had made a thread before describing the fact about so many people loosing their jobs due to work automation, and I pretty sure, as our technology evolves we will start loosing more and more jobs, this will set the foundation of socialism. The big corporations owners are doing this to themselves. Soon no one will have jobs or money to buy various products and this will create a scene of abundance but no usage of the products. And when we have abundance wil no one being able to utilize it, the will be upheaval.

I think this "Venus Project" just might be the ticket for Greece.

The quality of people implementing a form of government has more to do with the success or failure of it than does the form of government itself.

Some forms of government are more resistant to abuse and mis-rule... a Representative Republic for example is more resistant than a Monarchy or Dictatorship... only takes one bonehead in those forms to create quite a mess. However, as we are seeing in the US since 2001, a Representative Republic can get pretty crappy when the "representatives" forget just who they are supposed to be working for.

Historically, most governments that claimed to be Communist were little more than dictatorships or oligarchies (sp?). And the communistic economic model is just what they co-opted for population control. In much the same way the proven disaster called "trickle down capitalism" is what is being used here for population control (control of the population, not "birth control" ).

So there is nothing wrong per se with Communism, or Monarchies, or Dictatorships or Representative Republics... as long as the quality of people implementing any of them is high.

And there's the rub... getting people of quality in the driving seat. Humans have not yet developed a reliable, consistent way to do that.

So what happens to somebody who can't work?
