Threads labelled jokes, instead of hoax?

I have noticed recently (last 2 months) that many topics which normally would have been send to the hoax forum, now seems to get send to the Jokes, forum.

Why is this? Was it because of the recent complains by many about how things get labelled hoax, and now instead of labeling it hoax, it gets send to jokes?

Or could it be closer staff scrutiny, trying to seperate the truely laughable from the purposeful hoaxes?

I think the decision should be on intent. If it has a modicum of humor behind it, by all means send it to jokes. If it is people looking to spread false information with the intent to deceive, hoax bin it is.

I have a feeling this thread will be moved to "Board - Questions"

Funny thing is, I left an obvious joke in the joke forum and still had people attacking me (before they realised) about it.. lol

But some are a little hard to detect, so maybe the mods err on the side of fact that if it gives them a chuckle and others also, jokes... if its causing discontent, hoax.

Hahaha I had never thought of it that way. I've driven the porcelain bus a number of times, never thought about eating it though... but you know how brains work, now I can't get the image out of my head. arrgh!!

I guess that's the difference between cats and humans. We know what goes into that thing, while the cats just see crunchy cadbury chocolate chunks. oO

I agree with OP

This happened to a thread last week.

It was an obvious attempt to hoax ATS members.

The intent was clear. The OP was trying to bait members into believing their hoax.

Yet the thread was moved to the jokes forum instead of the hoax forum.

I would like to hear the mods explanation for these actions also.
