Hi,
I have some grabbers for abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread846830/atpost14258551.

slideshow

Notice the filters, and the settings.
So far as I can tell, maybe distances are traversed causing the view angle to go from wide to fish-eye?

There's some serious CMEs as you step the days back. And the body I noticed by zooming-out on the 3rd is there as well, as in not hidden from view.

The apps settings don't do what they used to.

So what's the big deal? The SOHO site is working fine.

You can get your SOHO UFO fix there.

You clearly haven't been paying attention. It's not working with SOHO......SDO is.........Put the same coordinates like mine into your setting top and below square and prt scn what you have with both blocks open top and bottom.

Take a look at the information on the images. You can do that by clicking on the little "i" in the circle. For the one on 2012-06-05 You'll see it say:

SIMPLE: 1
BITPIX: 16
NAXIS: 2
NAXIS1: 1024
NAXIS2: 1024
DATE: 2012-06-05
TIME_OBS: 01:00:13
DATE_OBS: 2012-06-05T01:00:13.737
ORIGIN: Rocket Science
DATASRC: quicklook file
TELESCOP:
SOHO INSTRUME:
EIT OBJECT: full FOV
BSCALE: 1.00000
BZERO: 0.00000
BUNIT: counts / pixel
WAVELNTH: 171
FILTER: Al +1

Notice where it says: "full FOV"

FOV = Field Of View

Now, go to the latest date of 2012-06-05, and look at the information on that image:

SIMPLE: 1
BITPIX: 16
NAXIS: 2
NAXIS1: 1024
NAXIS2: 1024
DATE: 2012-06-05
TIME_OBS: 21:12:13
DATE_OBS: 2012-06-05T21:12:13.310
ORIGIN: Rocket Science
DATASRC: realtime telemetry
TELESCOP: SOHO INSTRUME:
EIT OBJECT: partial FOV
BSCALE: 1.00000
BZERO: 0.00000
BUNIT: counts / pixel

Notice how it says EIT Object: partial FOV

So for whatever reason, they are only taking partial FOV's of the sun with the EIT

And it hasn't been updated since.

Thank you.

Every time you try it forces back to the 5th.

I can go past the 5th, but it's indicating that no images have been taken since the one on the 6th, which is only the partial FOV:

Not sure why your browser isn't letting you go further.

As to why they only took this partial view..... I have no idea. Maybe the main door is not functioning properly:

It's been up there a long time.

Thank you, now I'm not going crazy.

You explain it much better than me.

You have it on the 6th, but it's still stuck on the 5th. Look at the dates in your image.

Current images are available...at the source. The problem is with helioviewer, not SOHO.

Huh? You said SOHO seems down. It isn't. Who cares about helioviewer? The images are available. You know that's where helioviewer gets the images, don't you?

Helioviewer.org is an open-source project for the visualization of solar and heliospheric data. The project is funded by ESA and NASA. For more information, please visit our Wiki.

Credits:
SDO (NASA), SOHO (ESA/NASA), STEREO (NASA), GSFC, LMSAL, SDAC, Stanford University

1) Helioviewer has been under development for over three years now, but it is only in the past year or so that we have reached a stable point in our development and have begun sharing the project with others.
2) The Helioviewer Project is developed at ESA and NASA.
3) The images are processed from the original data in order to make them more clear, but no parts of the images have been added or removed. Occasionally you will see problems with the images (especially, for example, STEREO COR images) which make it seem like there is a UFO, but this is in fact only a defect of the camera.
4) Unfortunately Helioviewer.org does not currently include any of the instruments which will see Elenin in the near future. However, STEREO HI will see it between Aug 1-12. I will try and link to some images on our blog when that happens. In the meantime, check out www.universetoday.com... for some more information.

Cheers.

Uhm, Manhater, I hate to tell you this, but YES they do get those images from NASA and ESA.

Helioviewer is a web based software that allows you to quickly view those images. The images themselves come from NASA.

We're off topic, but, couldn't resist:

Phage never takes anything personal.

Phage is just......well Phage.

Any Hoo, I think what it is, is Helioviewer is just having issues getting their data packets from the actual SOHO site. They have a discussion area, so you can shoot them a line about it. Most likely they know and are trying to fix the problem.

But i did see a youtube video of Helioviewer from 9-7-12 is anyone else having major issues with Helioviewr
