I thought this was about McGraw's New York Giants, one of the best teams in baseball history. Chief Meyers, Grover Cleveland Alexander, Giants all.

As for the giants of the earth, it's quite possible that primates were larger back-in-the-day. Lots of animals were larger, huge ones, like sloths and big cats and mammoths. The plants and insects too. So large apes were probably around too. But I bet none of those apes could hit like Mel Ott.

I shoudn't worry

'Giants' were originally invented as a 'just so' story to explain dinosaur and megafauna bones. And more recently as a scam to empty your bank account.

There's one born every day. But in the 21st century we hope that most people can think for themselves?

I like the painting of the one they shot in Afghanistan tied to a pallet.Its an interesting story until I see one for myself.

Not so. You only have to go back 150 years to see a true giant.

ETA: To get a perspective on how big this guy was. He was 8 inches taller than Shaquille O'neal and almost 200lbs heavier.

We may never know whether it's true or not, but certainly, it will make for interesting debate!
