33-Year Old Man With 30 Kids Wants State Of Tennessee To Pay His Child Support

A 33-year-old Knoxville, Tenn. man with 30 children appeared in court this week to ask the state for child-support help

Desmond Hatchett has fathered 30 children -- which is believed to be the record in Knox county, according to the Los Angeles Times -- with 11 different women. His youngest children are toddlers and his oldest is 14.

This is what happens to a welfare state, tough love is not PC and personal responsibility is not a necessity, it's all good the Govt. will bail you out.

Of course impulsively I would say the state should force a vasectomy on him but I wouldn't be for that either.
The state should not force that on him and neither should they help him out.

But then what happens to the 30 kids?
He probably doesn't even remember all of their names i'm sure, they are just a number to him at this point.

Like women are just objects and he walked up and "used them".

That's not true. Each of those women wanted to hook up with him apparently.
They all let him conceive children.
Shouldn't they bear some responsibility for all of this as well?

Why is it fair to criticize this guy but not these irresponsible women who are just as bad as he is?

If this were "back in the day", like before technology, he'd have to slave away ALL DAY & ALL NIGHT to feed him, his WOMEN, and all of the children. He would have to work double or even triple OVERTIME in order to gather up enough materials and foods to bring back home. Thats like asking one man to feed an entire village, while the women do their chores and take care of the children. I just dont understand, at what point when you're about to have sex, does the idea of ALREADY having 5, 10, 15 little annoying-needy children not make your dick just a little softer? And of course, this article is giving a bad name to African American men yet again, front page on yahoo, Cause When Trayvon & Zimmerman aren't enough, just add a little icing.

I did read that thread, and damn. That's all I have to say. The only way that the state can help him out is by castrating him. And I'm serious about that. He *and* his partners are obviously too irresponsible to have protected sex, so they are all equally to blame. Castrate him and the problem won't get worse.


Then again, maybe he's breeding a zombie-killing army....can never be too careful these days.

Because he had 31 kids one woman did not
secondly these women perhaps didn't even know that he had so many kids, he could have lied and said he wasn't a father

Historically speaking most people DID have over a dozen children.

And those kids helped work around the farm, serving as farm hands.

The more kids you have, the more help you have.
This allows for larger farming operations.

So actually, this is only a problem in our modern city existence. Back on the pre-industrial age farm setting, having 30 kids would be a beneficial and profitable thing.

I sort of agree with you here. At least the part about the women being just as responsible, but then again, the women have custody, so they are actually shouldering the majority of the responsibility. The problem here, is the whole "baby Mama" mentality. Both said parties know that the government will assist the feeding and care of the rugrats, so it is never either one of their responsibilities to begin with in their eyes.

I am doing this wrong, sorry I am new to the site. I inserted text into someone else's quote.

Here is the stats if all these kids end up on SSD/SSI..

1 kid is 750 bucks a month..
30 kids that would be roughly 22500 a month.
1 year that would be roughly 270,000 bucks..

Now.. I am going to try to do this for foodstamps also.. I know a family of 5 I think with no income exept welfare or SSI or something gets around 600 bucks a month.. so thats around 3000 bucks a month in food for all these kids..

3000 bucks for food x's 12 is about 36000 for food..

So....

All these kids on welfare and SSi/SSD would equal out to around.. 306,000 a yr for taxpayers..

I didnt even get into medical part of this but if ALL these kids end up on SSD, because of some mental problem, we are looking at MT workers, Aides, therapy, and so on for these kids roughly 3 to 5 days a week.. So thats alot of money there per month for 1 kid let alone 30.

But you get the idea eh?
