Earthquake-4.3 in NW Louisiana 2012-05-17 0715CDT

Just FYI, received this a few moments ago from the FEMA rep in our area.

At approximately 7:15am a magnitude 4.3 earthquake rattled residents of Grand Cane in Desoto Parish. News reports the quake extended from East Texas into DeSoto Parish. The Emergency Management Director reports no impact and no assistance is necessary. Some residents reported feeling minor tremors. This office will monitor news for additional info and will report if situation warrants.

Could find no other corroboration. Not big enough to make the news wires, I guess, but just a point of interest.

USGS is reporting on 4.3 in east Texas..........nothing in Louisiana!

I don't see anything in Louisiana either. What EQ map are you looking at OP ?

I think it's the same EQ....east Texas bordering Louisiana.

orbitbaby is right. Same quake. The notice was sent by a FEMA rep in Louisiana, so De Soto parish was referenced.
