Maybe because some of us have been around long enough to have seen much harder economic times and have heard all the nonsense before?
Really? Did you live in a Hooverville? Were you here for the crash of 29? That was the only time that was worse. I have news for you though. This time will be much worse than that time was.

Also, I am watching my own country slowly shift towards becoming a Socialist nation. Political Madness and Climate-Change Debates aside, NOBODY knows that is going on, and even those who do really have no power to stop it.
"Tune in. Turn off. Drop out."
Big deal. People(my parents among others) just filled up one car one day and the other car the next day. WE didn't live in our cars, as is happening in many parts of the country today, and jobs were easy to get. I made more money as a teenager in the 1970s then I did my first 3 years in the navy in the 1980s. Gas was not that hard to get anyway. I started cutting lawns at 9 years old(1972), and never had any trouble keeping my mower and cans full every single day.

But this is different the economic problems is greater than what happens in the 1970s and the 80s.
Sorry but you are wrong.
In the late 1970's interest rates were at 21%, inflation was 13% the misery index (the sum of the unemployment rate and the inflation rate) hit an all-time high of 21.98%.
When was the last time you remember that you couldn't legally purchase gas because the day of the week didn't match your license plate?

Hey, here's a novel idea: Everybody stop having children! You can't exploit or oppress what doesn't exist. I have pledged not to reproduce and ask everyone else to follow suit.

This made me laugh so hard, just because it isn't affecting you and the few others that starred your post, does not mean that right now, things are not the worst they have been for a large percentage of the population than they can ever remember.
Massive trillions of dollars public debt, shanty towns springing up, more child poverty and hunger than the nation knows how to deal with, more jobless and homeless than can be effectively dealt with.
The nation is heamorhaeging with government trying to apply paper cut band aid when battle dressings and surgeons are required for a large portion of the population, and still it is getting worse, and yet you are asleep enough, still, to make an assinine post like that.
It has NEVER been this bad for the nation, you personally it isn't?, great, i hope it doesn't run you over like a big rig while you are looking the other way telling your friends how great everything is.
If you can afford an extra meal, why not find a kid who could use one and treat them to a two piece.
