One practice drill....every chance you get...=....Stanley Cup.....one ring to rule them all.....a Master Drill which changes all perspectives at once....it evolved on its own.

If no Oilers rep PMs...I am gonna find a way to send it to Silent Sam to get it off my chest....its soooo SWEET.....and the Nucks will benefit immensly and immediatly.

Hey fellas.Sammy-Hallsy-MPS-Nail-Jordan-Justin-Jonesy-....and "everyone else" the Oilers tried to blame the decade of dereliction on.....lol....now it your turns to be validated by your peers and by the League.....

2017/18 is the year when the law of averages kicks in....lol....the Oilers had an above average roster and below average management....the roster has been imploded.....only the subpar management remains.....leadership remains.......an average roster has been put in place.....so we now have subpar leadership with a loooong history of soiling the bed.....connected to an average roster......the unavoidable reality is that the ship is going to sink.......the players who were ground up like meat floated the boat in the shallow waters of sucess found during the decade of dereliction but they were above average and under-appreciated-underutilised-undervalued.

So fellas....the storm is over.....have consideration for Nugey who is hanging in there.....and sit back like Moma2 is going to do and enjoy the comeuppance destined to touch your old team in 2017/18.

McDavid cannot dominate the outcome of games ...he can drive games....but not win them on his own like Gretzky could do....Connor doesnt know how to score goals himself as prolificly as Gretzky did which is how you win more games.

So we will fix that right now.....this is because Moma2 felt bad pushing Connor about his skating stride and few other small details which were in no way lacking to begin with......remember you still have to motivate the best of the best everybody needs a little flame now and again.....so here you go Mr.McDavid.......and yes it is this easy to teach you kiddo....I love it......Connor you must break down your volume of opportunities in each game and you must strive to produce a specific number of dynamics each game.....whenever you wish or can produce them......these are the dynmics and why you need them in your game now.

Wayne scored a lot because he shot a lot and he shot from different depths in the zone.....from different speeds....out of different strides....ect ect......point being he shot a lot.....and many times he would sneak in on the wing full speed and let go with slappers from 3/4 depth which he would score on and those goals are still available in this Era......sometimes he would SNEAK into open ice and use a 1/2 slapper.......point being Connor you handle a lot of pucks and during those moments when Wayne would let loose with shot being confident he cold recover rebounds ...wellll Connor you are not taking those shots you have those pucks but you arent taking longer shots when you have clear sailing to skate in ,and are not putting yourself in a shooting /recovery dynamic......Wayne RECIEVED pucks and shot very quickly he did not dilly dally when he was shooting he was expeditious he didnt let the goaile read the ice he simply sneakily let it go ASAP......

You see Connor Goalies are simply reading you like they began to read Bure..........you have possesion for so long they dial in easily......you need to RECIEVE pucks in non-shooting areas and then IMMEDIATLY slip and shoot....different shots from different depths.....why do you think Wayne used the 3/4 slapper coming in on the wing to the high top corner???....because the rebounds would ring to his winger coming in late on the other side.......so he would slap it then cut cross laterally pulling up his speed becoming available for a quick pass from his winger who would be just gaining position......I know your Coaches manage shot choices especially when it is a zone clearing high shot/rebound which screws an o-zone possesion......so even though wayne could have bum-rushed the net a LOT of times....lol...he simply pu his head down and let fly with a blast....the old slightly delayed downswing on his slippery 3/4 slapper on-the-fly....lol.

So Connor....me boyo.....remember no shot is ever wasted if it is on net....and you miss 100% of the shots you dont take....so work on turning more possesions you normally drive deep into receptions and then focus on converting those into Variety-Shot/Followups.......two-for-ones........not simply powering to the net then letting go a weak shot or waiting for help....RECIEVE and RELEASE pucks ASAP giving the goalie little time to read your movement and exchange your speed advantage on skates for an uber-quick reception/possesion/release and be more versatile with your shot types and also focus more on tip-ins and deflections. This will let you smash Sid-Weeny in 20017/18...Moma2 says no 3-peat for Sid-Weeny.

Points matter ....all points.

Scoring more goals produces more wins which produces more goals assists and Stanley Cup playoff drive points......soooo....it does not matter what team it is the main focus must always be to score more goals without giving up more.

How do you elevate McDavid or who can he elevate ? If Connor doesnt either become or produce a 50 goal scorer then his value is being mismanaged.

Klefbom should be good for 10-20 more goals if his coaches let him use his excellent speed and stickhandeling to close on net and shoot or deke from closer in...they love his booming slapper but ignore his other strengths....this guy should be scoring enough to be competing with Justin Schultz for Norris votes in 2017/18....if you focus on him and demand more from him K-Bomb will deliver...he always has.

RNH and Draisaitl are the unrecognised under-rated drivers behind the Oilers 2016/17 Playoff appearance....they were the silent backbone in terms of work ethic and willingness to grow and adjust.....McDavid was the #3 and the 4th wheel like it or not is split 3-ways Maroon-Larsson-Lucic.

Talbot had a career year....but he was also the 2nd most protected player by the system itself behind McDavid,...and the Oilers System evidence shows is not a Championship one....evidence says the Oilers have a compete system not a defeat system.

For the Oilers to evolve upwardly into a "Defeat System" their system-protected players will have to be exposed. If youbexpose Talbot and McDavid you are done like dinner....which brings this to mind lmao whoever got the "focus on your offense a little more for next year" speech on egress has been given Mission Impossible because the Oilers System is maxed out offensively right now....sooooooo....no one is going to boost them beyond compete level offense it will take a system change...and LMAO the Coaches have already tried to cover their arses by throwing out some typical old style Oilers teflon excusatory advanced premptory landmines...which will inevitably give the Coaches things to build leverage with down the road in contract negotiations.

Lets assume everyone maxed out last year and there is enough raw material there to win it all.....but only process adjustments will bring this change adjusted as per the maxed out efforts we saw in the playoffs.....lets not set the bar so high already no one can reach it...and by proxy exit commentary by Oilers management has done exactly this....sooooo....fix it now.

COACHES and players must take the heat now you earned it ....the roster is now considered a playoff roster by their peers...respect has been earned and now the pressure is on every man to put out 100% again, this is BY PROXY...which is why I do not want to see Coaches putting artificially induced impossible to complete pressure on players to produce a single iota more offense ....that is not on them now it is on the Coaches and System.

IMHO the PRIMARY lesson the entire Oilers team learned together is that it is not aggressive or perfect or high pressure DEFENSE which wins games ....it is MISTAKE FREE defense which is system focus dependant only...listen to your Coaches follow the System and less mistakes happen...no matter what System you use as a Team...so what I want to see going into 2017/18 is some consistant discussion amongst EVERYMAN about on ice decisions which support mistake free defense.

Psssst......Katz.......www.youtube.com... if you try to hardball a diamond the rocks break first......Dre is a DIAMOND.........and IMHO if I were an NHL GM I would ask ownership for carte blanche to offer sheet him....simply because he is the only emerging McDavid Kryptonite in the NHL.......if I had a young or hungry Franchise which wanted to win in the next decade I would want a Giant-Killer like Dre to counter Conner McDavid.

Knowing the sordid history of Oilers con-job managements blackballing teflon-Don mentality....lol.....I wonder if Chia has considered that he cannot even come in playing fastball or he will be absolutely battled to the end of reason.

Just pay the pesos baby....they have been earned the olde fashioned way....blood sweat tears and patience.....pay it and be glad you can keep Draisaitl on your side of the NHL equation.

Well done.Wisely done. Now the numbers are off the table and out of the equation.

We already know how important it is to the Winning Formula to get away...far far away....from all things number related.

Why havent they reduced the goalies equipment yet>

Lol....because "they" arent discussing that the NHL experienced an upward bump in offense from somewhere else over the last decade.

From the NHS.

But now this influence is gone......so y'all better start trimming down that equipment ASAP.

Conner McDavids explosive creative relentless offense has caught fire now with fans.....no one in TO or NY will want to watch a N-zone trap when McDavid is lighting up the universe in Edmonton.

A new Era began with Conner McDavid and it is up to Bettman and the NHL to keep pace and to support this renewed offensive focus which has re-taken the NHL fanbases hearts once again.

The 80's have been gone for a very very long time.....things are now ripe to come full circle.....the defense-first cycle is over....we are now entering an offensive cycle....hopefully the League can find ways to extend this cycle for at least 2 decades.....as fighting is eased out more offense must replace it or the adrenaline rush is gone from NHL hockey....this is not a maybe-do this is a must-do.

An NHL team which stays away from poisoned stats influences and set-play defensive focus ,and plays a high paced high energy offensively focused game and perfects the PP and PK will dominate now.

I see Vancouver the Isles and CBJ as Darkhorses in 2017/18.

If no one pays for the NHS impacts which is now the only way to stop him, Sidney might win the next couple of cups before he breaks down for good.Moma2 is not arbitrarily gunning him down now......its a free-for-all in 2017/18.....and Sid and Sullivan are dialed in...roster changes will not stop them now...salary cap issues will not stop them......others have the rosters to win....but Sidney and his Coach have the NHS philosophy dialed in completely.

Barring a sudden windfall for Moma2 from a bold manager.....the Pens will walk away with it....hands down.....tough season close call to make the playoffs but when crunch time comes the NHS focus will pay off in spades as it always does......Sidney now knows he simply needs to get to the show....in the past nothing was certain....with the NHS he only has to get a ticket to the dance to bring the Cup home again .

This is a post which hopefully shows why it is better to come to ATS to discuss Oilers hockey than anywhere else.........the online pinheads are trying to frame RNH as the next whipping boy trade bait Oiler.....such fools they be........RNH is not going anywhere......with Lucic on LW providing protection Nuge has never had Nuge is a RW lock 1st line and should be fed 1st unit PP minutes........and Conner doesnt need 1st PP minutes yet he produces enough 5x5.....RNH should be allowed to let his hair down nd he should be given 1st line minutes simply because any fool who hs watched Nugey knows if you put him on a line with McDavid and Lucic Conner and Nuge will never lose pucks and when they do they will be on takebacks like pitbulls.....this is 2x trouble for opponents because it means 1st lines do NOT go back and forth chance for chance end to end....lol...this is an example of how superior offense produces superior defense because Oilers d-men will not be touching many pucks ...Nugey alone is such a takeback threat on the backcheck he gives teams trouble add McDavids wheels and same mindedness when it comes to getting pucks back and you have majic.....put Milan Lucic on their wing so no one can retaliate when those 2 magicians go supernova and run up scores and dangles and you have Black Majic...........endgame is this....McDavid needs a finisher on his line who can think and play the game at his speeds...RNH is the best fit.....someone simply needs to commit to showing him he must be the go-to scorer and become greedy....to green-light him......IMHO Nuge can score 40-50 goals on McDavids line and McDavid NEEDS a 40-50 goal scorer on his line because he likes to pass pucks more than shoot them.....BTW Yakupov would have been majic with McDavid now....Nails way of seeing the ice and playaction allow him to be open sooooo much a guy like McDavid would turn him into RR contender as fast as Justin Schultz became a Norris contender as soon as he was given a real chance to be such.

To be frank I would be inclined to run RNH as 1st line Center with McDavid on HIS right wing........McDavids speed on wing changes how things must be done by opponents on defense along the walls.....big changes......opening up a new type of scoring game for the Oilers.

BTW....I want Klefbom and Nurse to spend some time watching videos of Paul Coffey scoring goals.......seriously....and I want them both to watch which type of shot choice Paul used most....the 1/2-3/4 slapper....the compact quick-release shot choices......how this edge put his shots ahead of goalies consistantly....the quick-release edge......Paul emulated Waynes 1/2-3/4 slapper without Waynes little hitch-step at the top of is wind-up.....Paul went for the speed over accuracy and freezing the goalie.....Kurri went accuracy and Wayne went goalie-freeze but all 3 men specialised in the 1/2-3/4 slapper...quick-release onetimers......Nurses best NHL goal came off a rush with exactly this type of Paul Coffey type shot....and Klefbom already has a Boomer of a full-slapper so he needs to refine himself and work on his footwork and release....he is dialed into the Cannon-Shot stance and the work he began last season on growing out of this small footwork habit needs to continue so his improving point totals put him in Norris contention....

I just watched Fix-Wolanski nail down a perfect elbow-bone shot on a highlight reel.....lol....perfect shot and perfect freeze-frame of the Goalie in typical post-elbow-bone goal position....it should be a poster on the wall of the dressing room.No one shoots the shot like he did when he did how he did unless they are NHS indoctrinated.

The point of it al is that the elbow-shot is slowly forcing goalies to come out to challenge and change angles to their benefit...and of course this means a bigger back-door which means wayyyy more sexy goals to feed the NHLs multitude of high- paying fans.

The only solution is to come out.Ask Talbot or any NHL Goalie......they cant stop the shot unless they can challenge the shooter outside of the crease AND the NHS Possesion/Transition focus means NHL players ARE hungrily looking for and taking and scoring with this shot sequence setup.

The NHL has to shrink the goalie equipment ASAP pre-season.

Ya gotta squeze more goals out of every NHL experience without playing 2/3 of the game on Special Teams...new fans dont learn the game properly with penalty filled games.....we need CLEAN 5x5 GOALS.....now fellas....now....so shrink the gear....twas discussed so it can simply be dropped on everyone and its done.....screw the equipment manufacturers excuses....git er done.

Dustin Shwartz.....another of the old advanced stats cabal who has survived under the radar.......thank you dipstick for handing me the Oilers last season....really couldnt have derailed them without your stats poisons being inside their bloodstream.

Oilers management let another advanced stats con-job in the door.....Coaches allowed association....and Schwarz helped immensly in sandbagging the Oilers by sticking his silly nose into Talbots game and into pripherally influencing how the Oilers Coaches must play the game which is something Goalie Consultants do NOT DO.

Nice to see this type of guy who weaseled his way into the NHL with the help of the advanced stats cabal which has now been CRUSHED and 86ed from most of the civilised NHL be relegated to the WHL where his BS cannot turtle Stanley Cup runs...promoted away from the operating heart of the Oilers.Remember anytime you run into Gregors online posts he will always be licking the cabals feet and supporting cabal assets, because he has been a member of the online corps,a henchman of the cabal since the beginning helping them do untold levels of damage to the NHL...in only a few short years.Justin Schwartz....dont let the door hit you on the arse on the way out....say hi to DallasDellow for me next time you 2 idiots meet up for beers ok slappy.Schwartz and his inputs will be used as a dagger during the NHL regular season in 2017/18....no hold off till the Playoffs this go round if he is on board. This is a warning shot across the bow.

Food for thought in terms of urgency in 2017/18....www.youtube.com... dont say I never brung ya nuthin ok?

The Oilers need a crusty old school goalie Coach like Fuhr who is accustomed to playing out of the crease and who thinks this way......simply because Grant was facing more of an NHS style attack on the ice during his career and his instincts are built for todays evolving offensive NHS style game.

Lol....so here is Gregors playaction in a squirrel nut shell.....lol......he reads a real hockey thread that kicks him in the cojones again and has to respond by first posting an online article applauding a player he has spent a great deal of time running into the ground ......then he has his scabby little henchmen online cabal members immediatly begin posting anti-Nugey comments to MAKE UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE think Gregor supported RNH BUT a whole lot of others sure dont.Spare us the con-jobs JG.You have been a part of the unscroupulous lieing cheating pirating advanced stats cabal...since day one.

RNH is prime rib....he has managed one of the NHLs TOP FIVE LINES.....top 10 more than once......this guy has the pedigree to run Conner McDavids point totals through the roof....because anyone with 2eyes will know Nugey has had almost as many beauty set-ups WHIFFED as Gretzky did.....from day one he had Hall on his side who is not a volume sniper, more like a Modano who shoots less, and Eberle who is a pocket sniper not a volume sniper......sooooo...when you add up the thousands and thousands of dust-offs Nugeys big guns have wasted possesions and opportunities on either whiffing or overplaying and downgrading the opportunity....you know he is top-gun material offensively 100%......not just good or better than average ....RNH is supernova equipped and can play cerebrally and defensively enough with the best of the best and never be a weak link.

Bottom line is that Lucic/Maroon drives the 1st line....so after the muscle is in place McDavid needs to be added and then a 2-way player who can cover for him when he busts in much better defensively than Lucic...one who is also a takeback artist who can RE_LOAD McDavid multiple times during shifts and playaction possesions....an elite passer who can still score enough to float the boat.

The Oilers now understand as a group what mistake free hockey is and it is not defensive hockey...by this newly learned lesson we can expect them to become soon known as a MERCILESS type of team......best one word description....simply because when you have the teamwide toughness the Oilers have you MUST balance the investment with overwhelming goal scoring brutality finishing opponents and this means playing 60 full minutes for your teammates...and this means embarrasing your opponents on their off nights as a standard....and yes some opponents will come for you when you score 8 or 9 goals on them and dont let up....BUT...this is WHAT YOU PAID MILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF MUSCLE MONEY ON ...this is the MAJIC BUTTON which allows T-Mac to "Let the Dogs Out!!"....the difference between being a Thug-Team and an Iron-Cojoned team is that a thug team initiates high level violence to push their team to bully-wins but an Iron-Cojones team initiates high level violence to support overwhelming in your face offanse and on this team no one gets to lets steam off and thump or crush anyone... until the goals/money is in the bank ...and only then can the BlackHats be handed out to those inclined...to defend running up scores and humiliating opponents......no fair play 3rd period slow downs because we are scared they will doooo something next game....lol.....just sink every opponent like the Titanic.

The only time the Dogs are let out is to defend a winning position in an NHL game....only then....never out of frustration or retaliation...BOTH of those emotional inclinations are allowed out when the Coaches Let the Dogs Out to defend a 2-point NHL Playoff steak....the idea is to play clean fast hard fair offensive NHL hockey every night and to never veer from this until you have control of the game and someone else pushes you first.....then when you have a winning lead till the end you go all Jeckyl and Hyde on them as you run it up.

The basic fact the Oilers loaded up with toughness by proxy forces them to run up scores now with NO MERCY...and no REGERTS[lol].......even McDavid has to change his fairplay attitude and become goal hungry for 60 full minutes.....4-7+ goals per game or no playoffs.....the team toughness is in place reputation solid and now in 2017/18 the merciless offensive firepower has to be put in place in goals and in more importantly NHL REPUTATION.

Its best if the Coaches openly say they expect 60 minute playoff style goal scoring mistake free hockey EVERY NIGHT....this does in fact mean the Coach has green-lighted his team to RUN UP SCORES EVERY NIGHT AS A GOLDEN RULE......benching guys who refuse to run up scores helps bring the team online and shows the NHL and Refs the Coaches really are demanding playoff scoring and mistake free hockey first for all 82 regular season games.

Mistake free hockey wins Stanley Cups and mistake free hockey is not defensive nor offensively focused it is opportunistic and it is dynamiclly focused.....faster more accurate and more finite than typical NHL hockey ... mistake free hockey depends on lightening fast seamless transitions from pursuit to attack.....this means a possesion/transition gameplan is optimal......which is why the NHS has become the NHL Platinum Standard Philosophy....this is why RNHs proven NHL attributes on both sides and on top of the puck make him a gold coin.

Mistake free hockey or NHS style hockey produces higher shooting %s.....teamwide......and this is one of the few remaining ways to squeeze more out of McDavid statisticlly.

Lets talk Slepyshev.....30 goals....he is good for 30 goals.....you give him regular powerplay time with 3rd line ops suited to his strengths and bammo he will produce.......you give him regular top line minutes with top line players and he will produce....you put him on the 1st line and 1st PP and ask or greenlight him to be himself offensively and he could score 40 goals.

He is ready now...strong and dominant on the pucks....more comfortable and more confident....maturing.....he is READY......when I see him attack with the puck and when I see his shots and release I truly see the raw material to put up Bill Guerin numbers......so I expect him to be used this way and to produce this way....methinks he is a finisher...especially if he is allowed to be both playmaker and shooter and to build plays on his own when he has pucks......put him with elite players and tell him to be a playmaker and give him pucks and you will see his best hockey.....he is a strong puck possesion player who does best when he has a pass option available to battle the Goalie with when he is shooting....hence his value is NOT in being a static triggerman.....he is creative with pucks and would definately be finding Leon and Letestu with pucks in the middle when those players get set up there....or getting pucks back to Nuge or McDavid......so lets see what happens.

I would like to see a forward volunteer to play defense...one with a wicked 3/4 slapper and one who can stop and convert cross-ice passes....not only one-time but stop drop and snap before they are covered......then use this guy like Coffey was used.....as an end to end Dagger......unbelievably I see Nurse making rushes which remind me of Petry and of Coffey.

How will McDavid find enough majik to even equal 2017s numbers when many teams will now have a full-on defensive gameplan in store for the Oilers over IMHO the bulk of the schedule??

How will the Coaching staff find ways to keep winning consistently enough to make the Playoffs fighting defensive opponents all year long.

How will Dre find enough ways to score goals consistantly himself tto reproduce or better 77 points?....will he hit a PPG?+?

Is this the year we see Lucic fall off the cliff?????.....

How will these guys stay healthy?

How much offense is the Coaching staff asking from RNH[60+pts] because he has ALL-Star potential if he is given the rope.....letting him run the 1st line is an option which should be considered early on....not delayed[100+ points with CMD on his wing]

Will the Goaltending be as consistant as it was in 2017....can the Ironman show a repeat performance? Can he continue Ghostbusting? He has the potential...the fitness....the drive....but can the Oilers protect him from injury when those defensive gameplans opponents bring fill his crease with bodies trying to deconstruct him???

Can the PP and PK come out of the Gate in mid-season form?.....this is critical.....there is plenty of time pre-season to tune it up so we dont have to hear the now regular coaches whine story about not having enough practice time to tune the PP up.

Has anyone put up the archive tapes of Horcoff hammering one-timers from deep in the corner????.....has anyone put up tapes of Paul Coffeys shot mechanics and timing habits????.....has anyone put up tapes of Fuhr coming out to cut angles and force shooters to play his game???..........how about some nice tapes of Gator executing standup hits or Marchment coming across no-mans land hip-up and out......or Torres crushing some jersey logos on the 1/2 wall????

Come on now....this is just the warmup data ...only the tip of the iceburg of what should already be in place....the conditioning for the Playoff run is already beginning....a realistic HC has already smoothly recruited the Fanbase.....he knows what is ahead.....this will be a rough road....no one will be taking the Oilers lightly....they will turtle defensively or will go into bully mode.....but there will be no easy nights now and players like Milan will become very valuable when things get gritty.

Try as I might...I cannot find another quote of the Oilers HC unequivoclly stating an Oilers player WOULD NOT be playing with Conner McDavid.

Just Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.....according to the HC he WILL NOT be lining up with McDavid.

Its pre-season and the now entrenched HeadCoach is picking fights with the Good Lady Karma already ???.....LMAO.

Now the odds of Conner or Leon or both going down to injury have grown exponentially.

I still havent seen anyone pass better than RNH.....not CMD nor Leon....no one......full stop.

I know TM is hung up on Joe Pavelski.....and to be fair Nuge equalled Pavelskis top game impacts in the Playoffs against the BIG DOGS.....and TMac fell in love.....now RNH is pigeon-holed in a very good way....his Head Coach values the 2-way game impact sooo much he supports keeping Nuges salary......to have a proven elite level scoring Centerman play a 2-way game for 6 m/yr is top-notch cheeze......so obviously neither TMac nor Nugey should be squawking about anything.

TMacs focus is to OVERLOAD his positions....slowly building up more skilled defensively responsible players....once they meet his defensive requirements he guages offensve skills and will now UPGRADE.....Nuge is a 1st line Center who is now playing a 3rd line checkers role...this is the skill level overkill TMac KNOWs will break opposition teams down over 60 minutes......this is why TMac wants more offensive gambles from Nugey in his roster spot...TMac wants to gamble when and where everything is to his advantage and Nugey sets him up for this in SPADES....TMac wants to be able to gun opponents down from the 3rd line....and now he can do just that.

IMHO Nuge will FEAST on opponents if he is a greenlit 3rd line Centerman....with greenlit linemates and defensemen who help him out offensively by becoming available.

However...this is not IMHO the optimal way to use RNH within the current roster....I do not think McDavid is ready to dominate scoring goals....he needs ELITE level help......because this is what he must do in 2017/18 with no doubt.....Conner must prove he is a Generational goal scorer not just a points-getter.

Conner has to score as many goals as his top scoring winger does.....this is what GREAT means......if he cannot then we have seen his ceiling already.

50/40/30.....Conner...wingman...wingman.....goal numbers.

I say Conner scores 50+ as RNHs RWer.....I say Lucic scores 30 and Nugey scores 40.

The alternative is a fall-back towards the mean.

This is the 1st FTR comment regarding 2017/18.....I predict the Good Lady Karma will nip TMac[CMD or LD injury which pushes RNH up the roster]........taking a concrete position means one must be deeply embedded and strong enough to handle the undercurrents.....GoodCoach TMac has taken a concrete stance so I hope his foundation is sturdy enough to handle the graces of the Good Lady Karma.

I would simply start RNH as the #1 Center.....running Milan on the left and Conner on the right.....incorporating the defense offensively immediatly .....expecting in your face offense....every dirty sneaky in the crease in your face trick in the book because of Lucics impacts CMD and RNH can dangle and destroy opponents.

I would try to get CMD off to a Rocket Richard goal scoring start...a blistering pace....one which will require running up scores and depending on Milan Lucic to support this with his fists/////......all I want to hear about for the first 2 months of 2017/18 NHL season is how CMD is shooting the lights out....not about how Ovie or Mathews is shooting the lights out.

I would not want CMD trying to kickstart Milans 5x5 game....nor trying to pull along a needy RW......I want him competing for the RR trophy NOW.....and to my-eye RNH is the elite level passer and thinker to help CMD elevate his game.

Here is a tidbit for TMac to chew on....he better get his assistants to do the video history legwork ASAP....lol.....Wayne Gretzkys puck management and distribution habits exist in only one Oiler on todays roster....and before him only Sam Gagner in the modern Era has had this vision........the amount of time Wayne Gretzky held onto the puck was equal to the amount of time it took to move opponents who did not have the puck into enough transitions positionally to allow his incoming teammates to open up a scoring seam......NO LONGER.......he either buried it himself or immediatly built a transition catalysed scoring opportunity for someone on his team.....Wayne IMMEDIATLY went for the killshot....he immediatly looked for a terminal pass teammates could bury.....IF THE TRANSITIONAL MOVEMENT COULD BE FORCED......if not he played with open ice and slowly moved opponents around sometimes with rediculously long puck possesions until his linemates could find open ice and shooting lanes.

I am going to bury this proverbial knife so far into this issue that it will leave a scar on 2017/18 in the history books.

CMDs speed cannot be used verticlly to build passing opportunities like Wayne built...the kind which build 25% shooting averages.....and it cannot be used horizontally either because pure speed does not blend with horizontal movement unless you wish to be concussed and permanently injured--this is the NHL--......so CMDs single biggest strength cannot be OPTIMISED where and how he is going to be used.....lol.....this is why he will NOT elevate his game in 2017/18 statisticlly....this is why Dre dominated in Playoff hockey .......his horizontal strength and focus....LMAO.....

Now that it is established that CMD CANNOT BE OPTIMISED within the current system of play the Oilers use.....how does he elevate himself???

He doesnt.

Unless he has someone very special dishing to him.......I hope to beauty that everyone hates to hear this as much as I love to say it....McDavid is a modern day KURRI you putzes.....100%......he can be the rigger or the trigger....but where Kurris 2-way vision and positional soundness and horizontal paced focus combined with his greenlight to break free with Wayne at will put him in terminal scoring positions....McDavids SPEED is his strength and will put him in MORE terminal shooting positions than Kurri ever saw......

This is how you optimise CMD and ELEVATE HIS GAME....enough of HIM elevating everyone else....we saw what happened in the Playoffs when the Oilers tried riding his verticle game and were stonewalled until Dres horizontal strengths brought them back into it...EXACTLY AS I WROTE BEFORE LEON WAS DRAFTED WHEN I WAS THE ONLY ONE ONLINE PLUGGING HARD FOR HIM.........I predicted his evolving horizontal strength would one day be playoff money in the bank and it was....it ALWAYS WILL BE....UNLESS.....a way is found to elevate CMDs game......BELIEVE THIS NOW......we saw the best of both CMD and Dre in the Playoffs ....dont ever kid yourself that we didnt see their best....because Lobsang.....we saw them go head to head before they were in the NHL and the results were parelell....it is a NO _BRAINER.....

Leon didnt NEED CMD to be a gamechanger in the Playoffs.....he DID NOT NEED HIM.......Leons strengths are what they are and speak for themselves....

We are back to the system issues unfortunately.....and I am just not going there for free....lol....

So in a Squirrels Nutshell......RNH is the closest player I have ever seen to Wayne gretzky in terms of puck management on the ice....naturall tendancies and strengths we saw projected early in his career ....not his current NHL strengths and habits which he has worked hard to sucessfully optimise.Let him run the show and he will provide the dishes to fulfill CMDs wishes....with one of Lucic or Maroon on the LW to back up running up scores... these 2 will wreak havoc on the entire NHL...... IMHO ....THIS is where Lucic will find his 5x5 game again....and if he does not things could get ugly fast....Milan was not brought in to play second fiddle to Maroon and he is doing just that now and this shall not change because of chemistry and skillsets.....the only way Lucic finds his way back to the 1st line is if MORE GOALS WILL BE SCORED WITH HIM THERE THAN WITH MAROOON THERE.....it matters not who scores them Milan does not need to....but SOMEONE HAS TO SCORE MORE TO JUSTIFY A CHANGE.....getting my point yet????

Nugey doesnt just elevate CMDs game....he revives and elevates Milan Lucics game as well....IF YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND LEARN HOW TO USE HIM PROPERLY......the scoring pressure cannot be focused on the left side like it is with Maroon because the Oilers simply need 30-40-50+ goals from 2 of the top 3 players on the 1st line.Lucic cleans up the garbage while Patty is into the playaction producing by being involved directly....Patty is better served as a LW scoring focal point on the 2nd line where his production will possibly increase while CMD is an optimal RW focal point on the 1st line.

You see...believe it or not MANY OILERS are being UNDERUTILISED.....this fine tuning bringing them into optimal usage will be the signature of 2017/18 being a Playoff or non-Playoff season.

This is the Excalibre Equation.

This is the Winning Formula.

arxiv.org...

1/3 instinct
1/3 numbers
1/3 self-immolation

TMac....I do not illuminate a problem unless I already have a solution.....I see potential UPGRADES NOT current SHORTCOMINGS.

phys.org...

I have done it at last....I have found the only way to bring numbers and sentience together......in the form of an ORGANIC METHODOLOGY specificlly designed for Pro-Sports.....one applicable to bio-mechanical interfacing on the high end of the spectrum.

This is 100% groundbreaking and has never been used before.....100% proprietary.

Remember this......Wayne was deadly because opponents knw ALL of Waynes linemates were locked and loaded and had their fingers on the trigger the MILISECOND he had possesion....everyone went directly to scoring lanes and gave Wayne OPTIONS....everyone forced opponents to DEFEND their positional drives or thrusts into scoring lanes the MILISECOND Wayne had possesion.....this gave Wayne CONSISTANT DYNAMICS to work with and to dismantle.....opponents HAD TO COVER WGs linemates......this meant Wayne had 2-3 options in terms of simply dropping pucks into empty ice which would soon be filled with a streaking linemates stick ...Wayne could "lead" his shooters like Duck Hunter leads his target when he is harvesting birds.....this is true-blue QUICKSTRIKE NHL hockey....backbreaking spirit ripping QUICKSTRIKE offense which demoralises opponents......the type of hockey Wayne played required adherence to specific rules Wayne set.....if I bothered to read books by ex-Dynasty Oilers I would surely pick out these odd-ball things Wayne had to have INSISTED ON having his teammates do.

This is why I see a Lucic-Nuge-McDavid 1st line clicking into a top 5 NHL line within twenty games..... if they let RNH play HIS STYLE of hockey and Milan terrorises the crease consistantly and McDavid looks for the Gretzky/Kurri GIVE_AND_GO with RNH.....and if Nugey begins and ends with a shoot-first focus [meaning he looks for a shot using Lucic as much as he looks to pass to Conner.....meaning he is PREDATORY and GREEDY because the MILISECOND he has possesion in the o-zone he has the OPTIMAL chance to score having both Lucic and McDavid forcing opponents and their Goalie to TRANSITION as they move positionally to defend[RNH owns the goalie during this brief timespan]...AND......a d-man must CONSISTENTLY become available down the 1/2 wall and upper corner as a legitimate shooting threat......

In short if Lucic and McDavid can both present themselves within consistent shooting positions aka dynamics.....for 82 games.....NUGEY will fill their boots with beauty passes....but this is confidence and instinct and speed based sooooo....TRUST is critical.....hence Milan and Conner MUST ALWAYS be looking for prime dominant scoring lanes on every shift the same ways so RNH can KNOW where they will be......then he will simply drop passes where they need to be....triggers need to be pulled......the pucks will get there....Milan is DOMINANT in front and on his side....McDavid is DOMINANT everywhere because of his elite speed....Nugey is DOMINANT at holding possesion and completing passes on a very very high % of his posessions-----he DOES NOT cough pucks up.

I must stress that for this to work RNH must become a predatory shooter.....this is the next level of growth and elevation for him.....one IMHO delayed by 2 years minimum.......I want opponents to KNOW Nuge is SHOOTING/DEKING FIRST...within the first ten games....and that at the same time his 2 linemates PLUS a d-man will be 3-man rushing into scoring lanes IMMEDAITLY...the PRIME open net tap-in scoring chances because these players can DOMINATE opponents and get into the spots....not 2nd and 3rd rate scoring chances in bulk....nope...dominant big man owning crease cleaning up garbage....or streaking bullet pulling up for an easy-peasy one-timer into an open backdoor .....the general idea is that as soon as Nuge has o-zone possesion in practise he should set up for a 3/4 speed executed FAKE_SLAPPER and by the time his stick comes down to the ice McDavid or Lucic or both should be in PRIME_TIME scoring positions with fingers on the trigger thinking FINISH ONLY not thinking play development....simply be in position ready to shoot ASAP.....time it to the shot mechanics Nuge uses...and Nuge MUST not screw around he must ALWAYS and only go into shooting mechanics with the 3/4 speed slapper when he has a SOLID scoring/crease rebound chance....he has to keep defenders and goalies HONEST..so he might need to kill some time skating in open ice waiting for is 3 linmates to hit their lanes....basiclly this is a NO OVERPASSS focus.....a HIGH SPEED/EXECUTION HIGH VOLUME POSSESION/SHOT FOCUSED process....

Once you get timed to Nuges 3/4 speed slapper timing for hitting your spots.....have Nugey switch to a shoulder drop or a stop and pop play and time to that...........just get your baseline set with the 3/4 speed slapper set-up and work it step by step so you can learn where Milan is best set up and where Conner is best set up and where the sneaky d-man is set up.....all 3 will require a different speed of puck management to be optimised....Nugey will read what opponents give him and he will telegraph the playaction/speed of execution to his linemates with his body language and positional focus in the o-zone .....but RNHs 3 linemates all need to pick their most DOMINANT move or shot or position so the timing or arrival times can be dialed in......these will need to be Nuges 3 consistantly sought out dynamics for setting up his knockout punches...and of course when these dynamics are consistantly pressured upon opponents their goalies will HAVE to follow the defense giving RNH PRIME SHOOTIING DYNAMICS........Nuge should never HAVE to hold possesion for very long in the o-zone....with Conners speed as a speartip and Milans power as an anchor and Klefboms shot/speed/passing as a swingvote.....and RNHs LUST for goals......we should see a lot of really lightening fast goals scored.

OOOps I forgot Nuge wont be playing with Conner....lol.....so they say now....lol.

I will name this line the SHREDDER line...because they will rip opponents to shreds for 60 minutes.

I anticipate a very fast start by the Oilers...players like Lucic will know the value of a quick start and players like McDavid are now properly pumped after tasting playoffs.

I predict a controlled season....conservative....missing the show by 2 points.....I do not see bloodlust in the Oilers....their preferred close-out to games is a defensive mistake free exit.

Until they learn to exit games SMOKING HOT scoring till the buzzer sounds....they will remain a compete team.

People use the word swagger and I laugh....that is a joke.....good confident teams destroy you using their strengths and they work for 60 minutes and you expect this when you play them night in and night out....60 full minutes.

Swagger does not win games.....goals win games...greedy stone-hearted winners who deposit pucks in the opponents net with NO REMORSE FOR 60 FULL MINUTES and the men whose fists back up this type of hockey win games......what the hades is swagger anyways?

The core of playoff hockey is knowing how to read your opponents and knowing when to knock them down and out.....this killer instinct has to be learned....you do not stop knocking out an opponent before the bell has rung and in hockey only a compete mentality would stop trying 110% to score goals for 60 full minutes.....Champions never show mercy.

If it is 6-1 ending the 2nd period....I expect to see 9-2 by the end of the 3rd based on 60 full minutes and a demoralised opponent....and YES lots of opponents will wish to duke it out or try to injure Oilers players when the score is run up....but this is the risk of doing business in the NHL.....this is how Dynastys are built....upon the back of stone-cold killer instincts confidence toughness and bold expectations.....

Stone-cold killer instincts are what I question....hence the diatrade on this topic of RUNNING UP SCORES EVERY SINGLE NIGHT AS AN EXPECTATION....the Oilers are in a position to become the NHLs TEAM embraced by all.....IF.....they can be bold enough to entertain fans by scoring buckets and buckets of beauty goals as they Orange-Crush opponents ...if they take it upon themselves to set the bar higher than normal like the Dynasty Oilers did...miracles can happen.
