I keep forgetting that only the majority on ATS are allowed to share their opinions. Every dissenter must be a paid poster.

So you think Bush was quilified? Ron also served in the army. Is in politics for a very long time. Bush got born in the right family with the right contacts/influence.

What about Obama's background, he got the papers&experience in your eyes for this job?
Well, seeing how the goverment today, he doesn't seem like a good teamplayer where its hard or impossible to get things done?

Academically and by his own career path, which also included some military and some time managing the Texas Rangers and that close relatives also held the job and could provide insight? Yes, Bush was qualified.

Military and Politics don't mix well from what I've read...and only under exceptional circumstances will you see soldiers become president. i don't think any one would want to experience a world where a soldier, not even a highly decorated general and war hero became president.

i've repeatedly stated that lawmakers don't belong in the White House...and when they are there its under extraordinary circumstances. the current war, i think, counts as an extraordinary circumstance.

The natural path to that job is through the Governor's Office and even then any serious candidate for the office would bring other skill sets to the job.

being in the Lower House of Congress for 30 years and having an MD just doesn't cut it. its almost as if he was never really serious about Government. and for fu##ks sake, he could at least have been a brain surgeon.

Not to mention he has been completely ineffectual in his govt. position, and for a very long time. I think hes honest, but doesnt know how to play the game. Of course many see his inability or refusal to play the game as a good thing, but a president need sto be a leader and someone who can make compromises to get anything done.

No, I get that, it's the tenacity and frequency of the posts, that makes me wonder.

As for Ron Paul not being qualified for being President, he is more qualified than the last three, this including our current President. Decades in congress and just being a older wiser man, somebody who was even a officer in the military.

Khrushchev challenged Kennedy as not being as strong as him strictly based on their comparative background.

Long story short.

Reagan survived an assassination attempt at the beginning of his two terms.

I don't think people are able to either come to terms with the seriousness of this business OR they know how serious it is and want America led by a weakling.

people can play all the games they want...delusion is for all.

As assassination attempt carried out by a surrogate of the Bush family no less.

Not to derail anything.

surviving a gunshot, as an old man...the oldest President to date as a matter of fact, is a testament to his toughness.

Ron Paul wouldn't have survived, i'm sure.

his supporters can't even handle criticism in a conspiracy forum.

from what I heard as a young person...every American President was subject to an Indian curse...

en.wikipedia.org...

Reagan was supposed to have died according to this curse...

it was every twenty years.

Bush, Reagan, Kennedy, Roosevelt etc. etc.

For some reason, I get the idea that people take all of this lightly.

you know what, i really don't like you guys right now...everything to you is just one big joke.

Ron Paul has been a congressman for years, not just a doctor.

how is being a law maker the same as President?

let's go a little deeper...for just one minute.

do you people think that a Priest and a King are the same thing? or perhaps that a Priest can do a King's job?

A Priest would probably say yes...

A King would tell you to go f*ck yourself.

What say you?

Hope everybody with half a brain is still preparing for the worst. Stack your food, stack your Phyzz, get your water filtration needs taken care of, think about alternative sanitation and security. Whoever the next president is, he is going to have to deal with the worst economic situation since the 1930's.

The next president has to deal with an American society intolerant of pain and sacrifice, tens of millions of which are fully dependant on welfare and food stamps. Hundreds of millions depend on a medical insurance system that will collapse under the weight of tens of trillions in uncovered liabilities. A Social Security system that is being bled dry at an ever faster rate, with millions of additional Americans filing for disability benefits in a desperate chance of landing a check...let alone the wave of baby boomers starting to retire. A national debt that will be over $16 trillion, increasing at over $5 billion in additional debt every single day. I ask, which of the three candidates is really going to take these problems seriously?

I was fortunate to have had some conversations with my great uncle and my grandmother who lived during the last great depression as young people in New York City. In a nutshell, it absolutely sucked. Having a job...any job..was considered a godsend. Food was always a struggle. Money was always tight. People grew vegtables where they could. Angst was prevelent.

Remember, it took the Second World War to get us out of the last depression...at a cost of over 400,000 dead. Two of the three candidates will attack Iran if they get the bomb. Just saying.

Maybe he can politic to be appointed Surgeon General or something. Doctors are not leaders of men or managers and a doctor being president is a mockery of the position.

The guy is way out of his league...and anyone that cannot see this is the deluded one.

Bashir Assad is an ophthalmologist...see how that's working out.

isn't it bad enough that Lawmakers are in the executive office as it is...doesn't anyone use things in the manner they were intended to be used?

Abe Lincoln was a Postmaster. How did that qualify him to be President?
What about Teddy Roosevelt? He was a Rancher. Of course don't forget JFK himself was a Journalist. Ronald Reagan was an Actor. How did that prepare him for the Presidency? What exactly makes a Person qualified for President in your opinion?

Guess what? Ron Paul has been involved in Politics for a long time, that fact alone makes him more qualified than our current President.

Besides look up the word deluded in the dictionary and there will be a picture of a "Dr." Paul supporter.

from a certain point of view...the Presidency is someone else's head mail clerk...Abraham Lincoln question answered.

A Rancher manages land and life and grow's it...Roosevelt's question answered.

Actors can pretend to be anyone. and Journalists are good record keepers; that particular Journalist was shot in the head and had it recorded for historical purposes...talk about irony.

has Ron Paul ever sent another man to the hospital to receive emergency care?

if he's President he'll have to do this right away because he will be tested. but you all said it...he's the nicest person you'll meet. not qualified.

Ron Paul is so ineffective that you are on here now desperately trying to dissuade his supporters from supporting him. It is not about what you say, it is about what you do.

Why were Biden and Obama recently forced to come out in support of gay marriage? Really think about this one. It has nothing to do with the supporters they already have.

BTW I support equal rights under the law.

So an Actor can pretend to be anyone and being able to "pretend" makes one qualified to be President? Keeping good records makes one a good President?

Actually yes. Ron Paul delivered Babies. Are you under the impression that every birth is like what you see on TV and there are not any real life or death medical emergencies?

if he's President he'll have to do this right away because he will be tested. but you all said it...he's the nicest person you'll meet. not qualified.

We all said it? I said no such thing. I have no idea how "nice" Ron Paul is, nor do I care. I don't decide who to cast a vote for based on how nice a Candidate is. I base my opinion on their voting records, what they have done, and look to see if their words match up with their actions.

Ron Paul not only delivered babies, he was also a Soldier and he has been a Congressman for decades. That alone makes him more qualified than our current President who has never served a day in his life in the Military and certainly Obama did not have the Political experience either.

Your entitled to your opinion, feel free to call him "unqualified" if you wish, but one fact you can not escape is that he is still more qualified than Obama and Romney put together.

Ronald Reagan wasn't even aware of his surroundings when he died...mind totally gone. People keep playing around talking about what you are capable of and you'll end up like Adam Mayes...absolutely convinced another man's daughters are yours.

I meant emergency medical care like Gaddafi, Hussein, bin Laden and Kim probably needed but didn't get because it was way too late to help them. you still think people are playing around with you...and that's why you'll continue to try and find flaws in my position.

i'm not supporting Obama or Romney...but either is more qualified that Paul.

Obama seems like he can talk himself out of a tight situation...Romney will fight his way out of one.

Paul...i don't know what will happen but i'm thinking pornographic movie.

Never mind the fact that he was also a captain in the air force (president is commander in chief). And that he's been a congressman for 30+ years and has more political experience than probably any other president we've ever had. And that he's been chief of several economic groups and more. Hmm..

your tone sounds just like the rest of the ignorant Americans out there that can't be bothered to do any research on their own and rely on what pretty people on tv tell them.

guess what Ron Paul is also really old. Which mean he has done a lot including be a gynecologist. My wife's father is also really old and he was once a race car driver. Does that make him inexperienced to be president? Guess what he's also been a steel worker, a master electrician, a pro golfer, a painter (art), and a local politician.

Old people tend to have a lot of different things under their belt.

This is too funny... Do you realize that the first president of the United States was a farmer? The writer of the Declaration of Independence was a lawyer, Regan was an Actor, G. W. Bush was an idiot, Obama was a freshmen senator, and that our government is set up that way for a reason.

Moreover, don't you think this country needs a Doctor? Especially a doctor that has been in politics for over 30 years and knows more about politics that you can me combined.

Farmer and Land Owner? Lawyers write a lot, Reagan was also Governor of California, Bush was Governor of Texas...

Politics is the most disgusting profession on the planet and Ron Paul makes it worse because everytime you see him you have to wonder where his hands have been.

Ummm, it seems to me that you are completely ignoring Ron Paul's political career. You know, the one that has something to the tune of 30 years experience. What was Obama's experience prior to being POTUS, and please compare it to Ron Paul. One last thing, Ron Paul ran his own medical practice which means he ran a business.... oh and he's a Doctor
. What was Reagan? An actor?

we all have experiences in life...that's the best part of life.

writing law and voting and politicking and knowing the inner workings of DC is not the most important part of the Presidents job, nor is it why you are alive today to debate this topic.

this is real life...not something you saw on Fox or CNN or read on the Christian Science Monitor...

idealism is synonymous with death by my estimation and based upon my experiences.

and this is quite clearly the estimation of just about everyone that knows.

even the idea that Ron Paul is running for President is making Wolves all over the world slobber in anticipation.
