You must love the status quo, right redneck? that's why you're sitting on your arse all day, choosing not to go out and start taking action. I'm glad the corporate factory farm is still producing Grade A drones.

this is about people's right to exist on the planet. When the global population has its collective future existence threatened, you can bet there's going to be more than a few smashed windows and property destruction.

But you probably think it makes sense that we have to pay for water, food, healthcare and shelter so I'm talking to a brick wall. God forbid there should come a day when it's YOUR back to the wall.

Keep up the great work, law-abiding drone

Congratulations on being disruptive members of society.

Well, for the banks to be doing that sort of thing, it seems to me as though the Occupy folks could sue them for stalking. And invasion of privacy. And several other things.

Frankly, if I found this out, I would be scouring law books looking at things to sue them for.

... Well....

I am gonna tell you guys a principle of business that you should never forget, especially
when you want to end all standards and regulations here in America (not you specifically Redneck)

Business is immune to certain things due to agency, but more importantly plausible deniability -

All the bank has to do is blame the actions on an agent in the company and they can dodge
many law suits. Second, no lawyer would take that fight on without a million dollar retainer...
Third, you would be drained of all you resources (all their strategy) - a premise called judgement
proof (in reverse)

Bankers have been already organizing with Police/Military to quell dissent. That is called "the State".

Bankers have a vested interest in stirring the pot over Occupy and Chicago. If they can make them look bad, they have done a good day's work in their point of view.

Of course they do; if you buy into the 1% vs 99% thing then absolutely. I think the plot is a bit thicker than that but……

I still don't understand why Occupy Wall Street is protesting NATO, and what they intend to accomplish as a movement goal with this.

If you think about the master plan of TPTB (collapse of the global financial system) and you look into the groups funding OWS (many of whom support Obama) then it clearly seems like OWS is a pawn in the game. I believe OWS is being played and the level of resolve these folks have may prove to be exactly what TPTB want; massive civil unrest and a damn good excuse to institute martial law.

We’ll see how it shakes out…

edit on 30-4-2012 by seabag because: (no reason given)

I agree with you on this that OWS is being used to create civil unrest but when we think about what can be done
to free ourselves from the monetary oppression being waged accross the worlds nations one has to wonder what it will take for the masses to finally stand up and say to these bastards "enough is enough" and "we are not going to take it anymore"! To non-violently arrest and imprison these evil doers, to end the age of the haves and have nots, to take back our world, to let out the information that could so easily advance our society and to place emphasis on striving for the advancement of all and the oppression of none! It is obvious by now that the matrix of oppression needs to end before we are fighting each other for the very scraps of resources we ultimatly depend on for our survival in this dog eat dog world we now live in! our fear of change is a major contributing factor in bringing us out of this age of selfishness into a much more fair and balanced society! We must accept
our shortcomings and humble ourselves before our pride causes our own destruction!

ENOUGH!

The name calling and assorted other crap stops now. If you can't discuss the issue with something resembling civility further actions will be taken.

Anything further name calling and/or personal nonsense will result in post bans.

Attack the topic, not each other.

They may very well be dirty socialist hippies for all I know, but they're OUR dirty socialist hippies

I am one of those dirty socialist hippies. However, I do bathe, groom, and dress conservatively. I’m not an Obama supporter. I’m disappointed that he turned out to be another right wing yes man.

I get the impression there is another group of people who also want to change things. It seems they’d like to help the protesters if the protesters would just change their tune. I believe they want the protestors to champion government sponsored religion, complete deregulation, unbridled capitalism, and guns guns guns. It seems like they will happily forcefully remove the old boss if they get to be the new boss (see Won’t Get Fooled Again).

I don’t mean to be offensive, but I don’t want that group on my side. I don’t have any negative adjectives to use, it’s that I just don’t see where they’re coming from. It’s almost as if they’re a different species.

It seems that if we’re ever going to have a piece of land that operates the way we would enjoy, we’ll need 2 countries. If anyone knows a way to reconciliation, I’d be glad to hear it.

Very clever!

The point of the OP is simply that OWS WILL move forward with its plans as will the bankers and local LE. This makes for a very volatile situation with both sides preparing in advance for what the other will bring. We all know that LE is there to maintain order and public safety. We ALL KNOW that LE won’t back down and their resistance is unwavering. Knowing that…why won’t OWS keep things peaceful and actually try to accomplish something rather than pouring fuel on the fire???

Masked protestors use bats and wooden poles to destroy the glass storefront of an American Apparel store during May Day demonstrations that went violent in downtown Seattle May 1, 2012. (REUTERS/Anthony Bolante)
link

They’ve got to know this will be met with LE reaction, yet they do it anyway. Someone please explain 1) what do they hope to accomplish by acting this way, 2) why should LE not respond with force to the willful destruction of public and private property, and 3) why this should be considered a ‘peaceful protest’ when things like this seem to happen every time?

The best sign I saw yesterday on the live streams was "I shower every day. Sometimes twice."

Awesome sauce.

But for the rest of your post.....I understand the feeling of such opposition to the "other side's" philosophy, but the fact still stands that this country is never going to change so long as we're continually divided over these things. Just like OWS doesn't project one face or one agenda or one goal, why must the other side share anything except the common goal of bringing down this unfair, unjust system of money buying power and perpetuating itself through greed? When the smoke clears and the heavy lifting is finished, we can decide then how many groups we want to split into. But we will never have a single new system, let alone two or more, until we unite to bring this current sham of a system down. Together.

We do share some common goals but smashing windows, vandalizing the cars of people who work for a living, and burning trash cans isn’t going to solve a damn thing!!

There’s a right way to go about fixing the nation’s problems and acting like spoiled children throwing a temper tantrum ain’t it!!

Agreed! So I suggest OWS drop all of this child’s play and work within the system to fix these problems. Reasonable, rational people don’t act like OWS is acting! Sorry!!

Jesus, dude, you are bent on pushing your angle of OWS being violent. We've already addressed that many, many, MANY times but you won't let it go or even concede that the vast majority of OWS people have never been violent. You're beating a dead horse; no one is defending the violence. NO ONE!!!!! We've moved way beyond that in this conversation. LET IT GO.

You WANT to ‘move way beyond it’ but the reality is that the violence is still occurring. How can people conduct themselves this way and then claim that those of us pointing it out are beating a dead horse??

This video was from YESTERDAY in SEATTLE! Come on!!

I think OWS continues down the same path to get a response out of Law Enforcement, and my guess is they're hoping for an overrreaction one of these times so they can point at the cops and say THERE LOOK HOW BAD THEY ARE!!

This is so surreal.

Are these people in black self proclaimed anarchists, or are they just being labeled anarchists? What's going on at 3:30? Is this an unmasked "anarchist"? Why isn't there an arrest? What are the police trying to do?

Cops don't arrest other cops.
