Hummm,

You DO realize you wouldn't have science were it not for religion, correct?

err, who am I kidding, of course you don't.....

I didn't realize that either.
Much comes down to definitions I'm sure, but I can't even imagine how you came to this conclusion.

What? Ok, Whay back when...

Scientist - We found that Earth is round.
Religious Leaders - HERESY !!! BURN HIM AT THE STAKE!!!

Pagans - We can heal with herbs and help women give birth with minimal bleeding
Religious Leaders - WICHES!!! BURN THEM, DROWN THEM, STONE THEM!!!

Does that ring any bells.

Do you know anything about history?

Do you believe you live in 2012?

Do you understand who the early scientists were?

I'll do the research for you and educate you, if you refuse to educate yourself,

Just let me know.

You totally lost me again.

Why don't you try stating your conclusion with your definition of religion and science and then describe how you came to that conclusion? The problem might be in how you define religion and science versus how I define religion and science.

The very definition of Faith is the opposite of the scientific method.

Why don't more "faithful" people apply the scientific method to their beliefs?

Probably has something to do with the inability to know until you die, and since suicide is supposedly unforgivable, they're afraid to test it.

Religion gave us...

Please, allow me. The Inquisition. Millions murders. Precious Historical Codex and Scrolls burned as "Pagan". Endless wars. Endless death, even today, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Ugh, once again religion and superstition used to justify psychotic violence in Africa. Sad, sad story about children being accused of witchcraft by Christian ministers, who extort their parents for money to perform exorcisms. If they can’t pay up, look what happens… And what makes it even worse is that often the parents buy into it and harm their own children or abandon them.
EKET, Nigeria
source This is not, by any means, an isolated incident. It is happening in Africa right now, and Organized Religion are behind it all.

Not always, but at least science admits it when something goes awry. And those aren't science going awry. Those are science going exactly as it was hypothesized. Those are things that could have been good in the right hands, but humans, most likely a non scientist, used them incorrectly.

Also I think fluoride doesn't really fit into your argument.

EDIT: Name one time when a nuke was launched by a nonreligious person.
