I agree because JFK is the granddaddy of all modern conspiracy theories. In fact, I'm not sure the term was even used before JFK. Wasn't the whole idea that Oswald didn't do it alone, that there was a conspiracy, the origin of the term?

And speaking of Oswald, he was standing outside the Book Depository during the shooting, and Ike Altgens took his picture. It was definitely him and not that other guy Lovelady. Please watch my video about it on Youtube entitled: Visible Proof That Oswald Was Innocent.

This is a breakthrough that could really turn this case upside down, so please spread the word.

Also the murder of JFK and Bohemian Grove cult. These are undoubtedly part of a giant conspiracy larger than all others we have seen throughout history.

I think that when ideas have coherency then they could lead to frightening revelations that people who control all of our lives and dictate the standards of conformity in which we are forced to live our lives, then there is no wonder people do not trust the word of our clandestine covert governments and their ability to hoodwink people to act out their will such as the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq fiasco or worse, leads people down the path to seek out the truth because there are so many things that get simplified by the puppets and front men of the govt and the media.

I think conspiracy is very entertaining, some people really are dedicated.

We have David Icke in England, my synopsis of his mental health would have totally discredited anything he has ever said just because he put himself in the unfortunate position of being easily ridiculed. I made the point of giving him the benefit of the doubt and made a case in point to take an unbiased listen to what he actually has to say.

Ill admit I was very impressed with the way he presents some of his arguments, although I think he has been taken out of context on some of the issues he has with the way our society has been built through history. I do not think that he is anti jew but he does seem to have an obsession with Zionism which is a very difficult arena to voice ones opinions because of the problems associated with pointing the finger at a specific group of people made irrefutably sensitive because of the evil ideology of the Third Reich.

There are a lot of very entertaining conspiracy theories that emanate from America, you're the envy of the world in terms of what you have achieved in your short but rich history, it cannot be denied that people don't trust some aspects of America because of the difficulties that we all face in the modern world, rightly or wrongly give rise to some pretty unforgiving claims of covert secret societies and other dubious shenanigans that leads one to suspect that because of the good that she fosters as a country there must be some really nasty secret government who are actually pulling the strings, all hidden within a clandestine secret agenda of The New World Order.

Maybe the average proletariat is better off wandering around as a jelloid rock wobbler devoid of curiosity, never to question authority, doing as they are told and conforming to the mechanisms within a mundane half life until the meter on this mortal coil runs out.
edit on 26-1-2012 by captaincosmic because: I spelled Icke as Ike lol

The most dangerous enemy of man is man. Conspiracies are very effective in eliminating humanists.

The latest to break now is MONSANTO - a Richard Taylor from Monsanto has grabbed a senior exec job at the FDA which is certain to further propel us down the road to GMO food.

i'm actually not much of a conspiracy theorist but i am here because a friend directed me here and i was impressed by the broad spectrum of political and economic ideologies of each of the members combined with the fact that most of it is somewhat constructive debate rather than flame-bating and other unproductive discussion.

while i am not personally a conspiracy nut (i am critical not only of official stories, but criticism thereof especially when backed with little to no evidence or evidence that is not credible), i do recognize that there are conspiracies that seem outlandish but actually prove to be true. one example that has been alluded to in this thread but not specifically mentioned, nor has any proof of it been posted here, is MK Ultra and related operations that pre-dated it or came out of it:

en.wikipedia.org...

however, when it comes to conspiracies such as the 9/11 truth movement, the Illuminati/Freemasonry conspiracies, other secret societies, etc., i feel that not only are they outlandish and backed with little to no verifiable evidence, but they are unnecessary when used as a tool to condemn the people and groups involved as most of them have done things/are involved in things that we can prove that were wrong.

for 9/11 truthers, i suggest you read Noam Chomsky's book "9/11" or the updated version (which i have not read but already know the basic contents as it is simply a brief update) "9/11: Was There an Alternative?". it provides evidence of atrocities committed by the US government around the world that lead to people, especially Arabs/Muslims, being fed up with the US and it's foreign policy and lead to a widespread support of messages from terrorists such as Osama bin Laden:

Hello, I'm new here. I can't start a topic, so I will just ask here. Can anyone recommend good conspiracy documentaries? Nothing about modern politics, 9/11 or aliens please.

Dont forget the Mylai massacre. Few people realise that an entire village of civilians were raped executed and thrown in mass graves during the Vietnam war. I believe a coverup was attempted but I cant say for certain. Then there's the governmental support for Israel and unconditional forgiveness even when the extent of their warcrimes becomes evident.
I think that most conspiracy theorists are utter bullcarp. Reptillians, illuminati, chemtrails, genocidal eugenics 9/11 is also a lost cause. The most you could ever hope to get from that would be pearl harbour esque foreknowledge. Pearl harbour was a ruse to drive the American people to war 9/11 accomplished the same thing. The fact that no terrorist attacks have occurred since 9/11 is ample evidence that terorrism is somewhat of a manufactured menace. If there were indeed hordes of bloodlusting Jihadists converging on America - I dread to think of the consequences. Instead despite the relative ease of wreaking mayhem in cities where one fart is smelt by hundreds we have had no attacks. The US government I think has a broad morality insofar as for them the ends justify the means. Thus increased surveillance and draconian law are justified by a reduction in crime.

On a side note im a fan of eugenics in the sense that with the human condition being what it is today we'll never be more than high functioning apes. On the other hand by encouraging the best and brightest of every race to multiply and discouraging others with severe conditions which can be passed on genetically eventually humanity will reach a point where much of our current frailties and flaws are a thing of the past.

There is no death toll required simply a change in attitudes. Having a child is not a personal right I believe, The decision involves 4 parties. You your partner the Kid and the state. If you frack up your child's upringing the state or your partner has to pay and other people suffer. If you pass on genetic traits which impede your kid's quality of life - your selfishness has effectively condemned someone to a life they'd rather not have been forced to play out.
Ive said enough anyway - first post here lol.

Very interesting article. I'm so gald you didn't stick 9/11 into this. It would've made it less believable.

I've been writing a book about conspiracy theories for two years now.

I'm looking for 2-3 people to read it and we can discuss where I am at in my investigations compared to where they (you) are. I can send the paperback "proof" copy, sample chapters, or PDF versions. Please let me know. I'm willing to take criticism, praise, or be proven wrong. I'm willing to credit you in the published public version of the book.

Presidential Secrets is 214 pages of non-fiction about politics and the surrounding events of what is commonly called "conspiracy theories." Unlike most conspiracy theorists, I removed my tin foil hat and did not try to dis-prove the Warren Commission's single bullet theory; 50 years of research has only proven the evidence is circumstantial. Instead Presidential Secrets looked at what events transpired surrounding the events such as Bush and Nixon's coincidental visits to Dallas the same day as Kennedy's assassination, Ford's appointment to the Warren Commission and later as Vice President under Nixon, the fact that Jack Ruby once worked for Richard Nixon. The book takes a "What are the odds" approach to help shed light on incidents shrouded in mystery including a lot of new facts not previously found.
