There are over 4500 saints recognized by the Roman Catholic Church and I just can’t wrap my head around some of them. Need a Saint for Dysentery? Got one. How about one for the Internet? Got that as well!

So I got to thinking that I would like to be the Patron Saint of Butter Biscuits! It would look good on my bakery sign and I kinda like the ring to it...

Saint Butter Biscuits!

It just seems to me that the Catholic Church will put a Saint on anything and everything. 4500? Really???
Here’s a list of some of these “Saints”:

St Gertrude of Nivelles Patron saint of the fear of mice. (suriphobia) Lost me on this one completely

Saint Scholastica Patron Saint of Convulsive Children. I can get this...a little

Saint Hubert of Liege Patron Saint of Mad Dogs. And I can even feel sorry for Mad Dogs...but not the Englishmen!

St Monica Patron Saint of Alcoholics. Got it!

St Dominic Savio Patron Saint of Juvenile Delinquents. mmm...stretching a little here but...

St Isidore of Seville Patron Saint of the Internet. Ok, this is completely out there. Go to the link and you’ll see that the dude wasn’t even born in this century so how can he be a Saint of something he knows nothing about?

St Brendan the Navigator Patron Saint of Whales. Very good!

St Rene Goupil Patron Saint of Anesthesiologists ?????? What makes them so special?

St Polycarp Patron Saint against Dysentery PolyCarp? Could this be the origins of “Holy Crap”?

St Fiacre Patron Saint of Sexually Transmitted Disease. hmmmm...I’ll let this one slide.

Saint Barbara Patron Saint of Fireworks. WTH? I don't know if there's a Patron Saint of Belly Button Lint but it would make as much sense as this one.

Saint Drogo: Patron Saint of Unattractive People. Maybe the Saint of STD’s and this guy worked together?

Saint Genesius of Rome: Patron Saint of Comedians. Some of them do help when they begin to die on stage...or at least their act does.

Saint Jesus Malverde: Patron Saint of Drug Dealers. Why oh Why?

So I think the Patron Saint of Butter Biscuits might just make it to the list someday...

Peace

That is the best title I have seen in a long time!

I feel compelled to reply but am limited to a one liner...

I think Saint Angel Cake sounds like a good name for a heavenly baker too,

ETA Or whatever that may be in Nameology.
I'll spare you the details of what my real name apparently means but I don't feel it is applicable, particularly...

There is no fruit in butter biscuits, unless you add jam.

I pay homage to you each Sunday afternoon as I prepare dinner.

There's something to be said about kneading dough, as opposed to lighting candles. What that something happens to be, I've no idea!

At least the dough can feed the body as well as the soul.

Many will remember me at their dinner tables this year!

I believe that every good Saint worth their salt...and flour, water, baking powder, sugar, butter etc, should have their own theme song.

Our illustrious Mod "Don'tTreadOnMe" doesn't seem to remember that I've been Sainted (Self Appointed of Course) so I just reminded him of this thread.

Peace!
