The reason I started this thread, is that I started getting nostalgic discussing dance and electro music with fellow ATS members after I posted a link to a dance thread I did (Did the video last night)

Quick link to that thread...

ATS Member dances infront of camera - Manian - Ravers in the UK

Now I'm pretty sure that this one was PRE year 2000.

Higher State of Consciousness

And another I used to wiggle too

DJ Jean - The Launch

Please add!! And most of all, have fun remembering the good ol days

Nice one, i was part of the discussion and it really moved me listening to my old favorites.. brought up quite some touching memories so lets see if some of these song can wake some other music lovers up.

This used to be considered "hardcore house" which nowadays would simply be played on the radio, but Bonzai records was the frontrunner of extreme house music back then.. Can you imagine how fast things change?

This song fits in the same genre, just 7 years later, one of my fav's aswell.

There are so many more but i dont think ATS would appreciate them much

Great idea to make a thread out of this btw !

Brings back memories. I must say Crystal Method Vegas was the sound track to some of my happier memories.

John Digweed is still a DJ god in my book. The first Renaissance set was a must have.. I was lucky to live near a club owned by an old promoter so we got all the big name DJ's through town. I have been filling the big empty hole DNB, break beat, and jungle used to fill with dub step and trip hop. Harder to dance to but I'm a base addict what can I say.

Fun times. I feel lucky to have lived through one of the most amazing times since the 60's. For a moment I really thought all the love would spill out on to the streets and change the world. Keep dancing my friend.

Oh my god! Thanks for the DJ Jean vid. That tune has popped into my head so many times over the last couple of years and i could never remember who does it. I was pretty sure it was ATB so i went through his whole discography to find it!

I'll add a little input now.

Yeah i miss the times...

Dont know if you listened to my songs but the music is pretty rough, and attracts the same rough crowd, yet i felt safer on those 30K+ attendee raves then i feel in a 300 max pub nowadays.

I took my dad to a rave once (Mysteryland outdoor 1997)

^This one.

He said it was one of the best experiences he ever had.. Sadly he died of cancer 7 years later, but at least i've been able to share this experience with him and show him that all the presumptions people have about these kind of parties, are wrong (apart from the drug (ab)use
). Just the fact that he came along.. should show what kind of guy he was :'(
