An Introduction to Joanne Mariani- "In The Air Tonight" Remake and More....

Hello ATS'ers, Ive never really posted anything here before, but I have a friend named Joanne Mariani, she is Greek born singer, that is making her name in the music scene.

I would like to share her music with you, thanks for taking the time.

She certainly has a powerful and expressive voice.
Some interesting variations on the original melody as well.
I don't feel the backing tracks were of very good quality; sounded like Midi'ed keybosards.
Real instruments are always my preference.
That said I did have a friend who did nothing but sing along onstage with keyboards providing the music and he made a living doing just that for well over a decade. He ventured in to original music but his CD flopped more or less.
Nashville is another great town for musicians and many of the best live there.
Don't know any big secrets to hitting the big time but she is talented and I wish her well.
For me it's been more satisfying to play for fun and not worry about trying to support my family that way.

Well I usually wouldn't say anything but since you invited opinions I will.

I thought it was pretty bad.

The music is kinda sloppy and her voice doesn't really suit the song.

I personally didn't like it... but wish her well for the future and my comments are literally about the music and music only and I am not being mean or rude, just honest and giving my opinion.

Well I'll be honest, I was expecting the famous drum intro....
But that's okay.

I agree with Asktheanimals,
I think she got a good voice, but needs better music...
I almost thought of making a backing guitar track and reposting it...maybe later i will
I liked the beginning verse, because it sounds like she can hit high notes.
But I didn't like her voice in the lower registers.

She is much better suited in a higher pitch.
