US Allowed To Kill Citizen Terrorists Abroad... AND HAS.

www.cbsnews.com

Attorney General Eric Holder unveiled the Obama administration's legal justification for killing Americans outside the United States Monday, saying "lethal force" can be used against U.S. citizens who present "an imminent threat of violent attack."

The attorney general's comments on Monday are breaking the administration's silence on the legal justifications for its decision to kill American-born al-Qaida operative Anwar al-Awlaki.

"Due process and judicial process are not one and the same, particularly when it comes to national security," says Holder. "The Constitution guarantees due process, not judicial process."

There you have it.

We were all saying it. Some said it was crazy talk...

The US has now confirmed its' killing of a US Citizen by assassination.

Remember people, we are guaranteed "Due Process"..

Not the right to face our accusers...

Not the right to a fair and speedy trial...

Not the right to anything. You have the right to die, now, if you pose an "imminent threat of violent attack".

Now, the last question is... what is an "imminent threat of violent attack".

Well, I guess the obvious answer is: It's whatever they want it to be, and they don't have to justify it to us....

"They hate us for our freedoms"

I guess with this new development , and others before it, we can't use this excuse anymore.

Most of the countries we are in conflict with, have greater liberties than us.

USA for the lose

You don't have to be a terrorist or abroad. They killed American citizens on US soil in 1993.
Waco

Now they are just acting like they have permission to do it. We need to stop permitting these things being done.

Not that new, I just saw Eric Holder on CNN say that this was put in place in 2001.
Bush must have put this in rather quickly after 911.

Oh I never said it was new, that was another poster.

I just said now they are coming out with it. I am assuming they were waiting for the wording in the NDAA to be changed before they told us about this one.

They sure aren't wasting any time are they?

Something tells me this is just the water heating up around the frog...

We are going to hear about a LOT more of these types of killings very soon.

I say GOOD!

Terrorists aren't citizens anyway. They don't "play" by the rules, and it's not a game we can afford to loose.

You make the mistake of mistaking the intention of law, with the language of the law as it is written. The law says it can kill citizens. It makes no distinction between terrorist and non terrorist, just what is interpreted as a matter of "national security".

If you do not see a problem with this, than (I dont be to be rude), but your an idiot.

I don't feel I made a mistake. A citizen who is "an imminent threat of violent attack" against citizens of the United States is a terrorist in my book. I don't give a damn where they live.

See ya,
Milt

Edit:
I didn't notice this the first time around:

If you do not see a problem with this, than (I dont be to be rude), but your an idiot.

The above statement says far more about your arrogant hypocrisy, than it does about my idiocy.

America eats its young.

Is it any suprise it has started eating its own adult citizens?

Wait until this "policy" starts to be applied within US boarders, frequently. What's that, it already is? Shhh...don't want to blow a secret wide open!

Neither were Dahmer, or Manson but they got the benefits of due process.

Oh, wait...they were citizens.

Yeah, those are a couple of pretty good examples.

A number of lives could have been saved had we known they were "an imminent threat of violent attack" and eliminated that threat before their attacks took place. I feel it turns out they weren't so worthy of being citizens after all.

So much for "hind sight" huh.
